7:53 look at this wonderful combo, a beautiful showcase of how difficult Steve is to play. Quidd must've put several hours of effort to master this combo, truly incredible stuff
It's crazy how Peach has these insane finger breaking 70% combos that require perfect timing and technical precision, and she was considered busted back when the only peach good enough to consistently execute those combos(Samsora) was still around. Now we have Steve who does the same amount of damage off just spamming uptilt

Yeah but the thing is, it wasn't like a true zero to death combo. Bowser had opportunities to escape he just chose the wrong options. Quidd sealed the deal with that edge guard, he had good recognition.
@@gianz2066 he literally dealt 74% off of a true combo that is incredibly easy to execute and probably unoptimized. He then hit him with 2 more upairs before killing bowser at just above 100% (not a common sight) with an unblockable projectile that pretty much negates steve's slowness. IDGAF if it wasn't a true combo, the fact that steve has true 0-75s off of a -3 anti air and ridiculous kill confirms off of a difficult to punish unblockable projectile is ridiculous and needs a nerf.

After the 74% combo he had 3 opportunities to not die there, he chose all 3 wrong and for that he died, don't blame the character for that, blame urself. 74% is nothing for bowser if he chose the right option in disadvantage he probably wouldve lived way over 200% like bowser almost always does.
No, Steve should not be nerfed just because the meta hasn't found a good way yet to deal with Steve's bullshit doesn't mean he should be nerfed. Saying a character should be nerfed because you haven't found out how to combat them yet is just bad sportsmanship, atleast Leon took the loss like a champ, which can't be said for a lot of his supporters.
BTW yeah the projectile in unblockable, but u can spot dodge, roll, or you could just hit it, jump over it. Just because u can't block something doesn't mean it's OP, it just means u shouldnt try to block it
@@gianz2066 I'm sick of this 'we just need to stop complaining and develop counterplay' bullshit when it should be clear by now that there is no good counterplay to moves like minecart and anvil.
Moves like uptilt, anvil, fsmash, and cart have risk/reward ratios that are so ridiculously skewed in favor of steve that the only way to beat them is to significantly outplay the opponent as to make up for the risk/reward.
I don't understand why so many people are opposed to the idea of nerfing things that they would even admit are bullshit. I'm not even calling steve players carried, I just think that there is a simple and obvious solution to the fact that steve has so many moves that are very very safe and that either deal a shit ton of damage or kill you super early, and that is to make those moves less strong. You COULD wait forever for counterplay to develop, but for some reason people are so scared of the concept of a nerf that they are willing to accept shit like the fact that the OPPONENT takes risks everytime they try to edgeguard or juggle steve, instead of the other way around.
@@ribeserythrocarpum918 because we need to be carefull with nerfing, once someone like you complains about something he doesn't like about a character and we nerf it, it's just a matter of time before the next person comes and dislikes something about another character that he wants nerf. Before you know it the whole casts gets a nerd because litteraly EVERY character has something that's bullshit about them.
So the question becomes where do we draw the line of nerfing things. Where I draw the line is easy and the most objective in my opinion. I base it on results as a minimum requirement. If Steve isn't top 3ing every major then he simply isn't as broken as u claim him to be. The day Steve's are getting first at every major that's when we can have a discussion about a nerf, but until then just sit tight and let the players that do know how to beat Steve beat him.
for those that dont know, this is just an honest quidd secondary. id say hes played it about as much as pac man (or frankly even charizard for that matter), but his game revolves around ivysaur and squirtle. if its just not working out he knows when to switch off and sometimes its to steve who frankly, i think fits in his lineup of atrong yet goofy, knick knack characters anyway with pt, pacman, and rarely rob.
granted i heard he originally picked up the character to show how broken it is, but he uses it pretty fair and square

Tbf i think hes one of the most honest steves. He really only uses it as a secondary, plays it with good fundamentals, and i think even if steve wasnt as strong, hed still be in quidds line up and used to counterpick bowser anyway in a similar way that i think samus is. Bowsers too big and slow to get in on the zone but they still have combos that an take advantage of the heavy weight.
Of course he is, I'd be happy to against bowser. Bowser might even be more stupid than Steve, it's just that the Meta right now is still developing counterplay, that's why Steve looks unstoppable. Once people find out how exactly to deal with Steve, he won't be as broken as he looks right now.
Quidd, be proud u beat that overgrown turtle that gets a thousand chances at life just because he's so heavy. Be glad u a way to deal with those extreme short combo's that do over a million percent damage for nothing. But most of all, be proud u beat Leon the best bowser in the world.
When going to war, do you grab the a rifle or do you keep trolling along with a bowie knife? Don't hate the player my guy. Quidd just using what the game gave him.

With how many characters ultimate has I can’t imagine why you would only stay one character. At a competitive or casual level, play all you can. The competitive people learn more matchups and the casuals have more fun.
@@theilest33 Not really saying he needs to solo main. I just think PT dismantles Bowser. I know he's had trouble with Leon, but I think it's just lack of match up knowledge. Ivy has the hardest time against Bowser so Quidd really struggles. Imo Char.is underrated and gives Bowser a run for his money. Squirtle is flat out a superior character if you can play neutral with patience
steve is just another one of quidd's secondaries. he doesnt play it a ton but he probably has about as much game time in steve as charizard. his pt kinda revolves around his ivysaur. he can go hard on squirtle if its a really big win for squirtle, but he wont rely on charizard. if hes getting bodied he knows when to go with pacman, rob, or steve which hes probably far more confident in than his charizard. its not a carry, just an honest secondary.
hes also played leon a good handful of times, theyre 2 top players from their region so they cant really avoid each other in stuff like this. i think he knows the matchup by now.

Also you can win a matchup against bowser, but I don't think it really matters cause bowser hits you 3 times and it's even again.
I’m also disappointed that Quidd went Steve cuz I love his PT, but PT-Bowser is really even, not PT favored. Even Leon says so in his Bowser matchup chart video

Every time Quidd uses PT down B, someone swaps out and takes the controller. It's actually 3 people
you can use they as a singular pronoun as well and it is commonly used as such outside of the whole gender discussion. i thin k it's your english skills that are lacking.
