If you want to make it easier, you could group Ice Climbers, Mr. Game and Watch, ROB, and Duck Hunt under a “Nintendo History” series and simply add another 1980s Nintendo relic to the roster
If memory serves correct, it was between game & watch or Excitebike for a retro rep in melee, an its still somewhat relevant with a spirit, NSO port and most importantly, a map in mario kart 8.
I think Kamek would be more interesting than Poochy, both because he's prevalent on not only Yoshi games, but also the main Mario games, and also to add more villains to the cast
The problem with Mickey is that he’s not a videogame-born character, so he wouldn’t be eligible by default. Riku is the best choice, though any incarnation of Xehanort can also be interesting.
@@ToshisGarden Pretty much any Keyblade wielder is a good choice, since each one has their own unique playstyle and moves. I went with Riku because he's basically the deuteragonist of the series, and Xehanort because he's the main villain.
@PMbarbieri Yeah, it makes sense! I also agree that any of them work; my personal, ideal pick would be Terra because I love those that play with a certain deliberate weight to their attacks like him and Ike, but it'd be cool to see any of them!
Geese or Nightmare Geese for Fatal Fury, Azazel or Ogre/True Ogre for Tekken, Shin Akuma or Cyber Akuma for Street Fighter, Ashnard/Berserk Ashnard for Fire Emblem, and Solidus, Metal Gear REX, Metal Gear RAY, or The Boss for Metal Gear would be GOATed, S-Tier picks for bosses, imo!!
I'm sorry but I strongly disagree on Daisy being a better fit for Mario Sports than Waluigi. Waluigi was literally made for Mario Tennis since Wario needed a partner, Daisy was made for Super Mario Land which as far as I know was before any Mario Sports games were made. On top of that; Waluigi's assist trophy has him using a Tennis Racket, it's clear that Sakurai/Nintendo are aware of his strong connection to Mario Sports games, they just need to fully flush him out in a complete moveset.
For fatal fury characters, the most obvious pick would be Mai Shiranui, but this may not happen, also, Rock Howard, has some similarities and differences with terry, could be a good option, or may be they can bring someone from KOF like Iori or Kyo
I think Jack Frost might be a better Persona/ Megami Tensei rep in Smash as he is the mascot and could represent the series as a whole rather than one specific game series.
@@Tsduck27 Jack Frost would be a great spirit or assist but there’s only so much he can do. Elizabeth is associated with multiple persona so limiting her to one is hard to do. Unless you do what arena did and let her use an iconic Perona from her game like Thanatos. I could see her summon out Jack or maybe Pixie as a taunt though.
@@oreotaku4017 yeah, I get what u mean. Maybe you could implement a skill set for Elizabeth similar to hero. So you could have a bufu spell which summons Jack Frost etc and then when the rebellion gauge fills, Thanatos is summoned similar to joker and arsene. Jack Frost is better as an assist trophy but this is incase he was to be a fighter.
I don't understand that line of logic. We specifically have a Persona protagonist in Smash, so I think it makes sense to stay within that subseries. Plus we already have three separate Mario spin-off series counted as their own thing in Smash in Wario, Yoshi, and DK.
Yu is a perfect fit for a persona rep since he is in p4a and everything is there, but if we want just purely a smt rep it would be either demifeind, raidou, nahobino or flynn
Metal Gear had such bad representation in Ultimate despite Snake being used to sell the "Everyone is Here" tagine. Barely any music, no Metal Gear Rising representation besides Raiden's spirit (which is listed as Solid) and Gray Fox's spirit (which isn't even him, it's Raiden wearing the Gray Fox skin), no echo fighter for Snake, and no good alts for Snake.
Metal Gear’s representation only really has content from games released pre 2010. Solid Snake’s moveset is based on the older titles in the series which no longer is enough to represent the entire franchise. He hasn’t even been in a Metal Gear game since 2008. The 2010s focused on the Big Boss era and in those games you are encouraged to use non lethal weapons to take out enemies without killing then in order to recruit them. Blowing everyone up is penalized. Plus a lot of the moves in smash are not in recent games. We need another Metal Gear rep that represents the non lethal play style that’s an integral part of the gameplay of Portable Ops, Peace Walker and MGSV. They need to add Big Boss/Venom Snake. Have a moveset that only uses non lethal attacks like tranquilizer guns, sleeping gas, stun rod/stun arm and more advanced cqc. For the music you could give each major game three music tracks and have roughly the same amount of tracks Castlevania has. Most Metal Gear games have only one track in the game. And we obviously need music from Peace Walker, Revengeance and MGSV.
I feel like for Pikmin it would probably be cooler to have Oatchi as a stand-alone fighter, without the captain. Also, a cool Minecraft inclusion could be a piglin brute. I think it’s so funny how as soon as Piranha Plant got announced it opened up the door for enemy predictions. Like I never would have even thought of slime as a possible character, but now it seems like a shoe in.
I agree with most of your choices but I think the better option for Kid Icarus would be Medusa. She's the recurring villain of the series, a rival to Palutena and would be the first playable female villain in SSB unless you count Dark Samus.
@@hedgehogclaws8877 Magnus would be a good choice too, Uprising has such great characters overall with great designs I would be happy with most of them in Smash. I just think Medusa has more history and potential for an interesting moveset. Also I want an Eggplant Wizard as an assist trophy lol
I think the NES characters or even older like Ice Climbers, Mr Game & Watch, Duck Hunt or ROB are more on a group of historical games. Probably the options for a new addition are Mach rider or something related with Excite
Raven Beak is among my most wanted fighters. As much as I love Tails... Eggman is just the best pick for a Sonic rep. Sakurai was going to use either Ninjala or Min-Min as the ARMS rep, and the series creator chose Min-Min. So Ninjala would make a good second choice. Sakurai was actually prepared to negotiated for Slime if Square didn't accept his Hero proposition. Personally, I would've selected Enderman as a Minecraft rep
For me I think the most obvious KOF/Fatal Fury pick is easily Geese Howard. He has crossover experience with Tekken 7, and is an antagonist in the series. As for Tekken itself, Heihachi was already passed over due to not having Devil gene, so I’d go in a different direction. My pick is Yoshimitsu, repping both Tekken and SoulCalibur.
Alisa could work, too. Plus, she would be a good addition to Mega Man and R.O.B. since they are the only robot characters in Smash. In fact, I wouldn't mind Alisa and 2B being both in either.
I feel like the Virtual Boy could be a good rival character for ROB since there the complete opposite of each other. ROB’s is protrayed as a gaming companion while the Virtual Boy is portrayed as a killing machine in the commercials/advertisements
The problem with putting he Pikmin 4 protagonist as the candidate is there is no specific character as the protagonist, as there is a character creator. For that reason, I think either Oatchi or Louie would be better representatives.
I think a Piglin or Illager would be a better fighter than a Creeper. Piglins can use, swords, axes, and crossbows, while Illagers can use axes, crossbows, summons, potions, illusions, and cryomancy, plus ride a ravager for their final smash.
5:26 As a Mother fan I have to point out Ninten is not a logical choice, as he not only looks extremely similar to Ness, but he also can't use any offensive PSI, severely limiting his moveset. My pick would have to be either Porky in his mech or The Masked Man, as either one would be a good villain rep for the series.
There are already similar looking characters in Smash. Aside from PK Flash, none of the PSI attacks the Mother characters use in Smash are even learned by them in their games. Porky's mech would cause issues with implementation.
@@SonicTheCutehog Ridley had the same issue. Just size down the mech (but not Porky) to be more like the one from the end of 2. The similar appearances point is true but never really as severe as Ness and Ninten basically being the same character design. You're right about Ness and Lucas though, I hadn't really thought of that
Where you see limitations, I see innovation. I think Ninten being a character who focuses more on defensive and status based moves would make him way more unique, especially compared with Ness and Lucas who borrow moves from other characters.
MARIO: Geno DONKEY KONG: Dixie Kong LOZ: Sidon METROID: Raven Beak YOSHIi: Kamek KIRBY: Waddle Dee STAR FOX: Kyrstal POKÉMON: Sceptile/Ogerpon MOTHER: Ninten F-ZERO: Black Shadow ICE CLIMBERS: Polar Bear FIRE EMBLEM: Lyra GAME & WATCH: Game & Watch Jr. KID ICARUS: Ares/Viridia WARIO: Ashley/Waluigi METAL GEAR: Raiden SONIC: Knuckles PIKMIN: Onatchi & Pikmin R.O.B.: (void) ANIMAL CROSSING: K.K. Every Final Fantasy character currently in Smash has both fought Sora and appeared in multiple KH titles. It only makes sense for the next entry to fit the bill. That would be Squall Leonheart.
i'm sorry, lyra? are you talking about the radiant dawn character called lyre? because it would be crazy if you were, did you mean to put lyn and put the wrong name in?
Some people just don’t understand that Waluigi has been deconfirmed since the trailer where they introduced to us that we can defeat Assist Trophies where he is shown as an Assist Trophy. An Assist Trophy can’t be a fighter.
@@SeanWheeler100 But not in this Smash. I’m talking about Smash Ultimate. Waluigi was shown in Smash Ultimate as an Assist Trophy. But Little Mac, Isabelle and Dark Samus weren’t an Assist Trophy in this Smash Bros. In Smash Wii U/3DS yes.
@lookslikenik6931 ok and this is a hypothetical possibility not reality. Applying reality to a hypothetical is dumb. That is like me saying paper mario can't be in cos the origami king got a spirit event
I'd agree on Impa, but the other Zelda rep I would definitely want is Vaati. Not to to disagree on Tingle but, if we're adding more Zelda reps, it'll have to be a villain. (Just my thought, though)
Breath of the Wild and Tears of the Kingdom make up 40% of all sales in the history of The Legend of Zelda. It makes sense for a new fighter to be from these games. Sure you could still have young impa and use her hyrule warriors age of calamity appearance as inspiration, but honestly I would choose Sidon as he is the most popular of the champion descendents and would represent both breath of the wild AND tears of the kingdom well.
My exact thoughts. I also think there would be genuine riots in the Zelda fandom if the first original Smash rep we get since Melee is goddamn Tingle. People like him, but they don't like him enough to be okay with him filling a slot in an underrepresented series (especially overseas).
@brycebitetti1402 Tingle would be cool as a joke pick if we already had the series be well represented, like a piranha plant esque pick. Unfortunately that is not the case. Instead we got 2 variants of Zelda, 3 Links, and evil captain falcon.
Slippy is the closest competition to Krystal? No sir. Imagine Peppy as the heavy of the Star Fox crew as well as a contender for a barrel roll reflector.
Thing with Persona 3 is I don’t see a world where the age rating doesn’t go up because of how the party members summon their persona in that game. So there’s two options, have the MC summon his persona in a different way, which would be a massive disservice, or choose a character that doesn’t use an evoker. That’s why I think the most likely pick is Aigis.
A great taunt for Paper Mario would be a random character comes out and gives him a kiss, kind of like how Pac-Man has the Namco roulette taunt. He could have Ms Mowz, Flurrie, or Goombella
@@austinbass1081 I mean I like Yuffie, but we don't need another FFVII rep in Smash. Literally any other Square Enix character would be a more intetesting inclusion at this point.
@@austinbass1081 I haven't played Automata, but I was really not big on Replicant and I think Yoko Taro is a hack, lol. Also her design shows too much ass to be in Smash, unless they censored it.
Yuna seems the most interesting. She could behave like Pokémon Trainer, summoning Shiva, Ifrit and Bahamut to do the battle. It is really a shame that the summons were not Assist Trophy to begin with. I don't say Tidus cannot be interesting, even if he is _another Sword fighter._ At least has a theme around time management: Haste to speed himself, Slow to cripple its enemy, Delay could be a move with a set knockback or with a Wind hitbox, Flee being a "counter" that would raise his Speed (like Incineroar, but Speed instead of Power), Quick Hit being a tool to rank up percentage... and so on. His final smash can be one of his overdrive or the Jecht Shoot. He could have a mechanic where he get a bonus power/speed whenever he kills a characters with 150%+ damage, to emulate the *Overkill* system. Basically, the player would think if it is more worth to tool the enemy to get an overkill, so he can take the following stock earlier?
Yuna would be very unique. The problem is that in the first game, she's a summoner. In the sequel, she has multiple classes even though her default is a gunner.
I’m pretty sure the reason Heihachi isn’t already in Smash is because his VO actor died, so the character has been retired out of respect to him. I think if you’re going to bring a new Tekken rep in, it ought to be King.
I’d like a wild era rep for Zelda, mainly bc I love the idea of having a combination of all the champions working together in a single character, all contributing their abilities to make something great
Tbh honest for tekken i feel like either Lars or Alisa would be the best picks because Jin would be too similar to Kazuya and Lars has his own flashy thing going on and Alisa is a freaking battle android equipped with weapons of destruction they’d probably be way more fun to play in a game like smash
4:15 a really interesting idea i also think could work is a sort of Pokémon Trainer not-quite echo fighter in Pecharunt, where you alternate between Fezandipiti, Munkidori and Okidogi
You should have picked Professor Hector as R.O.B.'s representative. A sentient amiibo? What? The amiibos are figures of Smash characters. That won't work as a new fighter in Smash. Amiibo of who, exactly?
As people said, for Fatal Fury is between Mai Shiranui (maybe the most popular character outside Terry), Geese Howard (the antagonist) or Rock Howard (the 2 gen protagonist)
For Minecraft, altough not as iconic as a creeper, skeleton, enderman or zombie, I personally would pick an illager as a 2nd rep for having the most potential for moveset. It could have the Vindicator's axe, the Pillager's crossbow, summon Ravagers and Vexes, create the Invokator's jaws, use the Witch's potions, and maybe even use the discarded Illagers movesets, with Iceologer's ice boulders and Illusionist's clones.
Dr Robotnik would only work if he's like riding in his machines. So I guess that's possible since Bowser Jr is already in a clown car. Still I would go for tails. I was surprised that protoman wasn't under consideration for the Mega Man franchise but then again I actually haven't played Mega Man very much so what do I know I guess.
I would like to see Goro Akechi as a fighter from the Persona franchise. Either in his Detective Prince Outfit with his Robin Hood Persona or his True Outfit with his Loki Persona.
Strangely, for me, I actually prefer a character that's neither Tails _nor_ Eggman to be a second Sonic rep. That actually being *Amy,* who also has the potential for a unique moveset, without the awkward proportions issues that would plague Eggman given his average size compared to Sonic (or even other characters, given Eggman is known to be _incredibly_ tall; in the Mario & Sonic at the Olympic Games series, he's noticably taller than _Bowser_ which would lead to similar height woes that kept Ridley from being adapted for so long, especially since most of his mechs are _way_ too large), while still keeping the legacy of a long-standing and popular character in the series (especially with her renneisance in 2023 re-establishing herself as part of the core cast).
I personally think it should be akuma for Street Fighter. It would be similar to pikachu and pichu, with akuma being a glass cannon version of Ryu. Heavier hitting combos, faster movement speed, but also takes more damage or is just really light. Plus, more villains in smash!!
I feel like, for the Mii rep, another mii category would have sufficed, BUUUUUUUT… if you wanted an iconic Wii era character as kind of a Wii mascot… the Nintendo Wii controller and nunchuck warning silhouette would have been a really fun choice.
I could see Paper Mario in smash happening, but honestly I feel like Waluigi is a shoe-in at this point. There was so much clamor for him in Ultimate, and the devs definitely took notice. Waluigi will be in Smash 6.
For Kingdom Hearts, King Mickey wouldn't really deserve the spot anyways. He's always been more of a side character with only brief playable sections. Riku should be the next rep: Not because he's another keyblade wielder, but because he is the deuteragonist of Kingdom Hearts. He's Sora's direct counter and the primary hero along side him. He's Sora's rival in Kingdom Hearts (2002), he's playable in Chain of Memories and Kingdom Hearts III, he's the de facto protagonist of Dream Drop Distance, and he leads the effort to save Sora going into Kingdom Hearts IV. Kingdom Hearts has been stated in interviews to be about Sora and Riku. This is their story. If any Kingdom Hearts character is introduced to Smash Bros. after Sora, it will be Riku.
A creeper ?? Really ? There's so many choices in this game, let's be a little creative here What about an enderman ? A wither ? The ender dragon ? A blaze ? An Iron golem ? A guardian ? Herobrine ??
The "he has never been playable in a main game" argument they use for Waluigi is always so dumb to me. Like, you can't fight in Animal Crossing, All Sheik does in Ocarina of Time is play the harp and jump to a river, Captain Falcon moveset is all original, Palutena is only playable in smash, WII FIT TRAINER IS IN THE FUCKING GAME, you don't have to take 3000 pieces of inspirations to make a moveset for Waluigi, just give him a Tennis Racket, purple shit and personality and he's done. People doesn't want Toad, people want Waluigi and that's what it counts. PD: R.O.B IS A FUCKING TOY.
I could think of a few minecraft reps. Yeah creepers are iconic but all they do is explode. - Piglin: could use crossbows, an axe, and some stuff they trade with the player such as enderpearls - Wither: could shoot wither skulls and cause other fighters to take damage over time - Illager: Could be an amalgamation between the different illager mobs, such as the Vindicator, Evoker, Pillager, and maybe even some illagers seen in Minecraft Dungeons.
My pick for another Minecraft representative would probably be either Jesse from Minecraft Story Mode or the Arch-Illager from Minecraft Dungeons. If I had to pick from the main game, I think I would go with either the wither or the warden.
I agree with no Mother Brain, unless you were to add MB but I doubt anyone would want her, but Kraid can be scaled down pretty easily given small Kraids are a canon thing in Metroid. Other contenders for smash rep include: Omega Metroids, SA-X, Etecoons and Dachoras (Joke pick but would low-key be hilarious), EMMIs, Torizo, Prime 3 hunters, Prime Hunters hunters, Adam Malkovich (Can pass on this one, but he’s important enough that I could see it, and you could make a composite federation moveset) and maybe Chozo Ghosts from Prime. You could probably do more, but then they get niche to the point they don’t work.
Tails makes sense, but why would you choose a fat old man over the ultimate life form? You do know Shadow has different powers and fighting style than Sonic, right? Metal Sonic would be the echo fighter if you're so worried about that
For me Hades would be best for Kid Icarus, since he is a villain, and even though he is huge, he still has a human body type so I think they could shrink him to something like Ganondorf's size
Porky would be a way better choice for Earthbound than Ninten. Ninten does round out the three protagonists but we already have two PSI protagonists with very similar move sets. Porky gives the series a villain and a more interesting mech based moveset. I wouldn’t mind Ninten being added but not at Porky’s expense
Imagine going to Fatal Fury and not pick Mai Shiranui or Geese Howard. I heard you were not that well versed in the franchise, but Joe and Andy would be behind Mai and Geese.
Tifa? I’m a huge ff7 fan so I can kind of see where you’re coming from but as someone who’s only played the original, ever crisis, a bit of DOC and ccr, wouldn’t her final smash be a bit… much for smash bros, in like the term of it being a slot machine. I would have personally gone for Vincent as I feel like his moves would have a lot of potential and he does have his own game. Chaos would be an a,a zing final smash but I’m not really going off personal preference or favouritism despite DOC being my favourite game in the franchise bc if so I would have put Nero in but hardly anyone knows who he is.
For Tekken, I feel Jin would be likelier and make more sense esp due to Tekken 8 (though Heihachi IS alive again) For Fatal Fury, I doubt Andy and Joe are likely and they'd probably go with Mai (who is also the second Fatal Fury guest for SF6, alongside Terry), Rock Howard (protagonist of Garou: Mark of the Wolves and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves), or Geese Howard (main villain of the series)
For Tekken I would've probably chosen Devil Jin or Eddy Gordo in the past but Tekken 8 just brought Jun Kazama back into the main series my spot goes to her. And I would've gone with Spooky from Pac Man World 2. He'd probably work better as a boss, but if Ridley can shrink down and be a fighter Spooky can too.
Love the video and agree in msot of them, my major disagree was with the arms rep, even tho springman is the "face" of the franchise he is just too bland and mediocre to be his own character, also, for the ones who don't play that much or don't see any de talk for arms, spring man is Not the face of the franchise or a protagonist all characters are protagonist, spring man is just the easier character to start playing, he would be min min but bland with no actual personality like it's suppose to be in the game, also even when external people said that he is the face, he is not even top 3 most popular characters for arms in casual community, when you talk about Mario or link or most of the faces, you can say that there probably some characters with more sauce or personality than them, but they're the faces, everyone knows them, but in arms is not that true, I think twintelle or nijara are probably more interesting picks for gameplay proposal especially twintelle, because min min already represent the basics for arms, so a character that is more like an gimmicky character would be different and more interesting, because all the this that spring man could do, min min also can, but better and adding a lot of stuff
Speaking of Persona, I think it would make more sense to make Aigis a playable character. I think that the other protagonists would be just too similar to Joker in terms of move-sets and abilities. Aigis on the other hand is much more different characters who's still fairly popular and plays a major role in Persona 3
I completely agree with almost all of these, except: For Zelda I would prefer Impa, or maybe Beedle as an different (funnier) joke character. For F-Zero if they had to add another it would have to be Black Shadow to declone Ganondorf. Plus I'm not sure about other people but I had no idea who Goroh was before Smash but I certainly knew the main villain. For Wii, I think more Mii variants would be better: Athlete (based on wii sports, wii fit trainer, and the decloned daisy you mentioned) or Mage (based on Robin, Palutena, and Krystal). For Kingdom Hearts, a Mickey Mouse based on KH (obviously), Epic Mickey, and the Fantasia wizard short would be super cool. For Minecraft, I'd prefer Alex instead, there's tons more you could do. You'd want to keep neutral B (a MineCraft character that couldn't Mine or Craft would be weird since Steve can) but you could also use: pistons or dispensers instead of TNT, wind charge or ender pearls for a recovery, netherite instead of diamond (just for flavor), the hoe for tilts because it's funny, and maybe the mace for a side B (idk about that one but it could pair well with the wind charge to show off version 1.21). You could also pull from Dungeons, Story Mode, or Legends but I haven't played them so I don't know what you'd do. Alex would be a semiclone, but the differences would be more like Isabelle and Villager than Young Link and Toon Link. The final smash could be a huge flying machine, the Deep Dark + Warden, the Wither, the Ender Dragon, or Creative Mode. Really anything but the Dan Bull music video Steve has. The skins could be the inclusivity options introduced in 2022, and if they went with an Ender Pearl over a Wind Charge the Enderman would have to be Alex's skin. I would much prefer this to a creeper, which really just does one (self-sabotaging) thing and doesn't even have arms. The only fighters without arms currently are Duck Hunt, who doesn't even do most of the fighting; and Plant, a joke character that gets by with its ability to extend, which creepers don't have. I really like every other decision in the video, so overall great job!
Mage is also a Miitopia class! The Mii Swordsman is also like the Knight class(or job as they call it ingame) in the same game, and the Mii Swordsman is actually in SSBU!
TBH i think a Fire Emblem villain would be better. Especially with the supposed theme of "Heroes vs Villains" in Ultimate. Maybe Black Night? Hes probably the most iconic FE villain thats not a Dragon/Demon. He could also be that series first super heavy. Same thing with ARMS (i know theres no definitve villain) so i think Dr. Coyle would be a better pick. The unique style in she uses would be great for Smash.
I found it weird with all the echo fighters in Ultimate, Shadow would have been perfect for the Sonic franchise , fingers crossed Shadow will be in the next Smash Bros !
I would also love to see Julius Belmont join the Baracket, he could maybe have slightly more speed and better recovery, but slower and slightly more Powerful attacks, maybe even a custom finak Smash where he charges with Holy Power, then dashes forward in any of his direction that you press the stick on until he hits another Character, who he beats up very fast while speaking either something in English or Japanese before finishing them off with a grand Cross that spread across the Stage and harms most other Players around, but with the Player you caught suffering the most damage (The phrase I am thinking about that he might say is the one from Dawn of Sorrow when you play Julius Mode and unleash Grand Cross: "Tokuto ajiwae... Berumondo no chikara!" Literal Translation: Savor it well... this is the Power of Belmont Maybe we can change this a little into: "Witness the Power.... Of the Belmont Clan" when translating it to English.
Here's some of my picks. Mario: Professor E. Gadd Zelda: Skull Kid Pokemon: Sceptile Kirby: Magolor Donkey Kong: Dixie Kong Yoshi: Kamek Metroid: Anthony Higgs F-Zero: Black Shadow Earthbound: Porky Minch Fire Emblem: Lyn Wario: Mona, Ashley, or Waluigi Animal Crossing: Tom Nook Pikmin: Louie Xenoblade: Rex and Vandham Splatoon: Callie and Marie Kid Icarus: Magnus, Phosphora, or Hades ARMS: Twintelle Punch-Out: Mr. Dream Metal Gear: Raiden or Big Boss Sonic: Metal Sonic Mega Man: Bass Pac-Man: The Ghosts Bayonetta: Rodin or Father Balder Final Fantasy: Tifa or Vincent Street Fighter: Luke Tekken: Jin Kazama King of Fighters: Geese Howard or Kyo Kusanagi Castlevania: Trevor Belmont or Soma Cruz Persona: Aigis Dragon Quest: Hendrik Kingdom Hearts: Roxas Banjo-Kazooie: Gruntilda or Mumbo Minecraft: Alex
I think it’s funny he said “If pirannah plant can make it in, I don’t see why Toad wouldn’t get in!” Even though that negated his last argument for why Waluigi wasn’t his pick “he’s not playable in most games”, Piranha plant isn’t playable in any game 😂
Game and Watch: The Wolf Mii: Mii Mage, Dark Lord, Wandering Hero Light Gon Series: Mr Stevennson (Gumshoe) Rob: It is fine if Hector would be playable too Ice Climbers: The Polar Bear is the best pick See? Not that hard
And for Minecraft there are better options, you could promote Enderman to be a fighter instad of a creeper Or a Villager, Piglin or a Skeleton or the Warden Other options for the Spin offs are Jesse from Story Mode or the Arch-Illager from Dungeons
Let’s see Birdo, Impa, Dixie Kong, Sylux/Trace, Krystal or Panther, Meowscarada/Blaziken, Magnus or Medusa, Shadow/Knuckles/Metal Sonic, Ashley(warioware), Porky, Edlegard, Zero/Bass/Roll, Chun li/Juri Han, Nia(Xenoblade), Yuu/Makato/Kotone, Jean(bayonetta), Blood Falcon, Raiden, Barret, Tom Nook, Jin Mishima With new series newcomers being Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Leon S Kennedy or Frank west, Neptune(Neptunia) , Shantae and Asuka(senran kagura) these would be my choices
I think Rock Howard (the main protagonist of the two most recent Fatal Fury games after an in-universe time-skip) is way more realistic of a pick compared to Joe or Andy, who despite being the other two protagonists of the first game and almost always making the roster, never reached the same popularity as Terry. And Mai Shiranui (the Chun-li of Fatal Fury) is more realistic of a pick than even Rock considering she was the second character picked as a guest for Street Fighter 6 after Terry. They just need to figure out a way to make her work without raising the age rating, and tbh if they figured out a way for Bayonetta, they can do the same for Mai. I also think Makoto is not as likely as you think. It is pure recency bias that's helping them but Makoto was never quite as popular as Yu Narukami and assuming the next Smash isn't coming tomorrow or something ANY kind of new Persona project would divert the attention away from them once again. And even if the new Smash was coming out tomorrow, Aigis feels like a safer bet than the protagonist for a Persona 3 rep. A major party member who is the main character of the DLC and appears more often in spin-off games than the protagonist. She is the (un)official mascot of Persona 3.
I feel like picking another Persona protagonist would be a pretty lazy way of going about representing another game; my choice for a second Persona rep has always been Aigis, who _has_ been playable without being a game's main protag before, has potential for a very unique moveset, and still benefits from P3's recent relevance.
I think for Pokemon, it should be either Meowscarada or Decidueye with both variants with different Special Moves with Alolan getting Spirit Shackle for a Down B and Energy Ball for B with Hisuian getting Aura Sphere for B and Triple Arrow for Down B with both getting Aerial Ace for Up B and Leaf Blade for Forward B, and Tera Blast (Random Type) as Final Smash, and Meowscarada having Flower Trick as B, Night Slash for Forward B, Play Rough for Up B, and Triple Axel for Down B with Tera Blast (Stellar) as the Final Smash.
Don't really feel Andy or Joe are important enough to be the second slot when Mai Shiranui, Geese Howard and Rock Howard are there. And I would put Jack Frost over the P3 Hero. Other than that, nice list.
I'm surprised no one said the obvious Pokemon choice if they need a new rep: Scream Tail as a Jigglypuff Echo fighter. Heavier, more offensive, less floaty.
All of these would be good choices. Personally my pick for Persona is Aigis instead, but Makoto would make more sense. I do disagree a bit and do think Waluigi is the face of Mario sports. I do also think for Final Fantasy it would nice to see a non-FF7 character and the one that would make sense is Tidus. I also think Hector would be cooler for Fire Emblem and I think Engage wasn’t that successful compared to others. I know Hector is also not just a major character in 1 game, but also a minor character in another.
I actually agree with a lot of your list! I do have some takes of my own, though: -Alucard is fine and the brst choice, but if you want a different (yet still very beloved) new Castlevania rep that isn't him, I'd say Soma is the way to go. -Even though Andy is Terry's brother, Joe is more pooular amongst fans. That said, Rock Howard has actually been becoming the de facto "Next Generation MC" of Fatal Fury ever since Garou: Mark of the Wolves, so I'd say it's between Joe and Rock for who should be a second Fatal Fury rep, leaning Rock. -Sakurai has said that Heihachi didn't make it in because of moveset difficulties, so I would argue Jin would be the better choice. He's debatably just as iconic as Heihachi, but he still has Kazuya's moveset advantage with the Devil Gene while still retaining the ability to play like his own separate character due to a different fighting style, which is something he already does intentionally in Tekken. -I'd say Gray Fox makes for a better new playable fighter than Raiden, largely because he's already been an assist trophy in 2 games. It would also help to set the record straight since in recent years, for some reason, there's been a lack of respect on his name despite how much he's had an impact on in the Metal Gear franchise. He's literally the OG Cyborg Ninja, Solid Snake's greatest rival, and one of the greatest soldiers in the franchise. -Similar to what I said about Alucard and Soma, I'd say Chun-Li s a good choice, but good alternatives would be Sakura and Juri. Sakura almost has as much kegacy and fan favoritism as Chun, and Juri could be a good fan-favorite pick if you don't want to add another shoto. -I think Prime Hunters already gives Sylux a decent-enough moveset with the Shock Coil, but another contender that fans like that I would put alongside him, would be Anthony. For everything people have said about Other M, the one thing Metroid fans seem to agree on is that he's a well-luked character we'd hope to see return, and I'm curious about his moveset potential. -Your pucks for Zelda make sense, but I would argue Vaati might be another solid option. He's the primary villain of an entire trilogy of games, he'd be another villain addition to Smash, and he has left a large impact on the Zelda franchise--to the point that many people still want him ti return in some form. -Lastly, I 100% agree with Paper Mario, but I think another great Mario addition if you want to think off the beaten path and oay respect to a Mario RPG series would be Fawful.
@whompywhomperson2139 Honestly, wasn't expecting someone to come along who even knows who he is! XD Good on you l, though, and you're right! Still, it was Gray Fox's turn as the Cyborg Ninja of his game that officially made it a fan-favorite archetype in the series, and with good reason! *Because* Gray fox used to be so popular and then randomly isn't despite moments he was involved in/affected still being so popular is why it sucks in his case (alongside the fact that he was repeatedly strongly considered to get his own gane at many points, only to have that taken from him), but yeah, Kyle and Frank both absolutely deserve more attention!

Honestly for fatal fury I think Rock Howard would make the most sense as the next game coming up is city of the wolves, where he is the protag in it. But if you wanna go with the broader SNK characters, it would probably be Kyo
If you want to make it easier, you could group Ice Climbers, Mr. Game and Watch, ROB, and Duck Hunt under a “Nintendo History” series and simply add another 1980s Nintendo relic to the roster

I think Kamek would be more interesting than Poochy, both because he's prevalent on not only Yoshi games, but also the main Mario games, and also to add more villains to the cast
Same, since Kamek has shown to me a major antagonist in the Yoshi games to satisfy Baby Bowser
Someone made a mod for smash ultimate, adding kamek to the game, with his own moveset.
@@Doumdoum_06 pretty sure people have seen the thumbnail of it at least once, bro
The problem with Mickey is that he’s not a videogame-born character, so he wouldn’t be eligible by default. Riku is the best choice, though any incarnation of Xehanort can also be interesting.
I would also argue Roxas could be an excellent edition if it means he gets to dual-wield Oathkeeper and Oblivion
@@ToshisGarden
Pretty much any Keyblade wielder is a good choice, since each one has their own unique playstyle and moves.
Epic Mickey
@@supervector4757
Having a video game made about a character doesn’t make them eligible for Smash.
What if every franchise represented by a fighter gets a boss battle? I can see Madusa representing the “Kid Icarus” franchise.
And either the Ender Dragon or the Wither representing Minecraft.
You could have Yaldebaoth for Persona, specifically for Joker in this case.
@@lunarcollider9524 .
Also, Waluigi has been in more of the sports games than Daisy. Heck, he was in one of them when even WARIO wasn't playable.
For fatal fury characters, the most obvious pick would be Mai Shiranui, but this may not happen, also, Rock Howard, has some similarities and differences with terry, could be a good option, or may be they can bring someone from KOF like Iori or Kyo
Mai could just be kinda censor like pyra and mythra. Haha black tights under her ninja outfit . A ninja like mai would be a great addition
Either Lori or Mia.....or both.
GEESE HOWARD
I think Jack Frost might be a better Persona/ Megami Tensei rep in Smash as he is the mascot and could represent the series as a whole rather than one specific game series.
Maybe he could be a persona? Not for the protagonist but maybe someone like Elizabeth
Sakurai was actually prepared to negotiated for Slime if Square didn't accept his Hero proposition.
I agree with most of your choices but I think the better option for Kid Icarus would be Medusa. She's the recurring villain of the series, a rival to Palutena and would be the first playable female villain in SSB unless you count Dark Samus.
Very true, but what do you think about Magnus?
@@hedgehogclaws8877 Magnus would be a good choice too, Uprising has such great characters overall with great designs I would be happy with most of them in Smash. I just think Medusa has more history and potential for an interesting moveset. Also I want an Eggplant Wizard as an assist trophy lol
Isn't Wendy the first playable female villain?
@@hedgehogclaws8877
Magnus is not as interesting as Medusa, Viridi or Hades.
For Tekken the best representation could be Jin Kazama due to his popularity
@@redead8513 I agree he is popular but he’d be a bit redundant (especially the special moves) compared to Kazuya.
Alisa could work, too. Plus, she would be a good addition to Mega Man and R.O.B. since they are the only robot characters in Smash. In fact, I wouldn't mind Alisa and 2B being both in either.
Yoshimitsu would be the best choice, but Eddy would be a lot more fun.
I feel like the Virtual Boy could be a good rival character for ROB since there the complete opposite of each other. ROB’s is protrayed as a gaming companion while the Virtual Boy is portrayed as a killing machine in the commercials/advertisements
I’d go with Hades for the kid Icarus rep, since we need more villains and he could make for a really fun yet menacing power house
The problem with putting he Pikmin 4 protagonist as the candidate is there is no specific character as the protagonist, as there is a character creator. For that reason, I think either Oatchi or Louie would be better representatives.
There's plenty of precedent with Villager, Inkling, Steve, and to an extent Robin, Corrin, and Byleth.
I think a Piglin or Illager would be a better fighter than a Creeper. Piglins can use, swords, axes, and crossbows, while Illagers can use axes, crossbows, summons, potions, illusions, and cryomancy, plus ride a ravager for their final smash.
Ogerpon being able to switch masks mid-battle is an idea that I never knew I needed until now.

If I had to outside of the FF7 game to represent the Final Fantasy series, personally I want either Tidus or Yuna to represent Final Fantasy 10
Why not Alisa? It would be nice to have another robot character since Mega Man and R.O.B.
They could use her biker outfit from the upcoming City of the Wolves game.
Alright, I want Raiden, end of conversation, you can't convince me
2:38 I mean, Marth and Roy were only added to Melee to promote the release of Fire Emblem in the U.S.
wrong, if anything it was to promote roy's game to japanese audiences, and marth would not appear again in a game until the nintendo ds
Who is he? Alex or Vilanger?
Heihachi was going to be in SSB4 but was scrapped due to moveset complications according to Sakurai
I personally think it should be akuma for Street Fighter. It would be similar to pikachu and pichu, with akuma being a glass cannon version of Ryu. Heavier hitting combos, faster movement speed, but also takes more damage or is just really light. Plus, more villains in smash!!
I think an Amiibo is a good choice for ROB's universe, clever idea!
I can see Koraidon and Miraidon being echo fighters of each other, like Simon and Ricter
same with Makoto and FeMC
He also has a VERY different fighting style to Sora when you control him in-game.

@@user-lo7yi4pg3z Oh, true 😔
- Piglin: could use crossbows, an axe, and some stuff they trade with the player such as enderpearls
- Wither: could shoot wither skulls and cause other fighters to take damage over time
- Illager: Could be an amalgamation between the different illager mobs, such as the Vindicator, Evoker, Pillager, and maybe even some illagers seen in Minecraft Dungeons.
Other contenders for smash rep include:
Omega Metroids, SA-X, Etecoons and Dachoras (Joke pick but would low-key be hilarious), EMMIs, Torizo, Prime 3 hunters, Prime Hunters hunters, Adam Malkovich (Can pass on this one, but he’s important enough that I could see it, and you could make a composite federation moveset) and maybe Chozo Ghosts from Prime.
I wouldn’t mind Ninten being added but not at Porky’s expense
kotone could easily be an alternate costume of makoto yuki but that won't happen because atlus hates kotone
i’d add Mipha,Daruk,Urbosa and Revali, with the sages being echoes
I can see half of these characters being likely candidates for smash bros 6 if there even is gonna be a smash bros 6
For the Mii I would add a Mii Mage, Rogue, and Tank to represent the Mii RPG game
For Tekken, I feel Jin would be likelier and make more sense esp due to Tekken 8 (though Heihachi IS alive again)
For Fatal Fury, I doubt Andy and Joe are likely and they'd probably go with Mai (who is also the second Fatal Fury guest for SF6, alongside Terry), Rock Howard (protagonist of Garou: Mark of the Wolves and Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves), or Geese Howard (main villain of the series)
I vote Mai Shiranui with the biker outfit.
For Ice Climber, how about Polar Bear with a Pterodactyl in its backpack as a Banjo Kazooie clone.
I can't see Ninten getting in. He's too identical to Ness. Porkey, Giegue, Kumatora, Jeff, Poo, or the Masked Man all have better chances
What about Alisa?
I have always thought wolf link would be a fun addition
Also I agree with the person about adding Jack Frost to the game too
But she uses guns in the original games she's from. It would be another Snake situation for her.
I completely agree with almost all of these, except:
For Zelda I would prefer Impa, or maybe Beedle as an different (funnier) joke character.
Thanks! Your Black Shadow shout is a good btw, anything it takes to declone Ganondorf! Blood Falcon could also work very well for the same reason
Mage is also a Miitopia class! The Mii Swordsman is also like the Knight class(or job as they call it ingame) in the same game, and the Mii Swordsman is actually in SSBU!
For Legend of Zelda the best candidate could be Skull kid
I would also love to see Julius Belmont join the Baracket, he could maybe have slightly more speed and better recovery, but slower and slightly more Powerful attacks, maybe even a custom finak Smash where he charges with Holy Power, then dashes forward in any of his direction that you press the stick on until he hits another Character, who he beats up very fast while speaking either something in English or Japanese before finishing them off with a grand Cross that spread across the Stage and harms most other Players around, but with the Player you caught suffering the most damage
(The phrase I am thinking about that he might say is the one from Dawn of Sorrow when you play Julius Mode and unleash Grand Cross:
"Tokuto ajiwae... Berumondo no chikara!"
Literal Translation: Savor it well... this is the Power of Belmont
Maybe we can change this a little into:
"Witness the Power.... Of the Belmont Clan" when translating it to English.
i thought of him but probably too similar to simon and richter in comparison to alucard
Here's some of my picks.
Mario: Professor E. Gadd
Zelda: Skull Kid
Pokemon: Sceptile
Kirby: Magolor
Donkey Kong: Dixie Kong
Yoshi: Kamek
Metroid: Anthony Higgs
F-Zero: Black Shadow
Earthbound: Porky Minch
Fire Emblem: Lyn
Wario: Mona, Ashley, or Waluigi
Animal Crossing: Tom Nook
Pikmin: Louie
Xenoblade: Rex and Vandham
Splatoon: Callie and Marie
Kid Icarus: Magnus, Phosphora, or Hades
ARMS: Twintelle
Punch-Out: Mr. Dream
Metal Gear: Raiden or Big Boss
Sonic: Metal Sonic
Mega Man: Bass
Pac-Man: The Ghosts
Bayonetta: Rodin or Father Balder
Final Fantasy: Tifa or Vincent
Street Fighter: Luke
Tekken: Jin Kazama
King of Fighters: Geese Howard or Kyo Kusanagi
Castlevania: Trevor Belmont or Soma Cruz
Persona: Aigis
Dragon Quest: Hendrik
Kingdom Hearts: Roxas
Banjo-Kazooie: Gruntilda or Mumbo
Minecraft: Alex
Shout out to you, you have a whole monopoly of videos, great more content.
I think it’s funny he said “If pirannah plant can make it in, I don’t see why Toad wouldn’t get in!” Even though that negated his last argument for why Waluigi wasn’t his pick “he’s not playable in most games”, Piranha plant isn’t playable in any game 😂
Game and Watch: The Wolf
Mii: Mii Mage, Dark Lord, Wandering Hero
Light Gon Series: Mr Stevennson (Gumshoe)
Rob: It is fine if Hector would be playable too
Ice Climbers: The Polar Bear is the best pick
See? Not that hard
Also for Dragon Quest Psaro would be better
(There are other characters too that could be picked like Eric, Mordegon and Negel to name a few)
And for Minecraft there are better options, you could promote Enderman to be a fighter instad of a creeper
Or a Villager, Piglin or a Skeleton or the Warden
Other options for the Spin offs are Jesse from Story Mode or
the Arch-Illager from Dungeons
Also for Yoshi definetly Kamek over Poochy. Also The Stork with the child characters would be fun
Also Skull Kid, Vaati, Midna & Wolf Link, Astor or Rauru (or any other character tbh) would be way better than flippin Tingle
For Minecraft, I think that Herobrine would've been a better choice but, that's just my opinion
Let’s see Birdo, Impa, Dixie Kong, Sylux/Trace, Krystal or Panther, Meowscarada/Blaziken, Magnus or Medusa, Shadow/Knuckles/Metal Sonic, Ashley(warioware), Porky, Edlegard, Zero/Bass/Roll, Chun li/Juri Han, Nia(Xenoblade), Yuu/Makato/Kotone, Jean(bayonetta), Blood Falcon, Raiden, Barret, Tom Nook, Jin Mishima
With new series newcomers being Crash Bandicoot, Spyro, Leon S Kennedy or Frank west, Neptune(Neptunia) , Shantae and Asuka(senran kagura) these would be my choices
If we're going by 'toys being used to play video games' logic with R.O.B, I'd love to see the Labo Man be the second rep of that
bandana dee and magolor could work plus 3 Wario reps would be fair
Fire Emblem franchise be like: not another generic swordfighter again
Tinkaton is such a good idea omg
I do have some takes of my own, though:
-Alucard is fine and the brst choice, but if you want a different (yet still very beloved) new Castlevania rep that isn't him, I'd say Soma is the way to go.
"He's literally the OG Cyborg Ninja,"
Kyle Schneider/Black Ninja says hi
If it were me...

King hippo is such a random pick 😂😂
Great video!! You had some great picks like Paper Mario, I really want Tifa in smash bros! You have earned my sub :)
Honestly for fatal fury I think Rock Howard would make the most sense as the next game coming up is city of the wolves, where he is the protag in it. But if you wanna go with the broader SNK characters, it would probably be Kyo
