    Caesar was both famous and notorious for his forgiving of debts. The reason the Ides of March was notable in Roman times was that it marked the date that all debts would come due.
    This was often a nightmare for the working class (proletarii) who usually owed money. Luckily for them Caesar also owed a lot A LOT of money so after he came to power the first Ides that rolled around he decreed all debts forgiven which naturally angered the loan sharks who enjoyed playing senator on occasion. Anyways associating killing Caesar on the Ides was symbolic, basically Brutus pandering to the Roman elites saying that he murdered Caesar to avenge their financial losses.

    If I read right, the Brutus on the coin was meant not to be Marcus Junius Brutus Iunior ("Brutus Jr"), but his ancestor; Lucius Junius Brutus; the founder of the Roman Republic and the first Consul of Rome. In a sense it was meant to clash with Gaius Julius Caeser's coin, which bears the title of DICT PERPETVO ("Perpetual Dictator", lit: "Dictator for life"

      hes a pawn shop not a coin collector if its worth 125 retail to 150k auction
      110 was a fair offer remember the coin is un graded the price is based on that alone the one that sold for 500k was a near perfect coin this one was only fair thats why such a low price

    • @shinjiprofile
      @shinjiprofile 6 лет назад +59

      110k is a reasonable trade for something that you can have on the spot, if you have the patience to auction it yourself then don't go to a pawnshop.
