Tbh it’s his fault and he’s getting mad when an expert said it’s value and this guy still wants to sell it 200% more than it’s worth lol
EBay he might fetch a better price! There's something off with that guy anywhere's. He was desperate! Might be a gambler!
@Austere Greynoize I'm a coin collector, the fact that he hasn't even researched the price is enough to prove his idiocy.
@Andy G Dealers know how to tell a cleaned coin from an uncirculated coin, even you could find out if you looked it up. Also, it holds more value if you get it graded from PCGS/NGC or some other grading service.
Pawn guy: I'll give you $1,000 for it

I for once, support Rick in this case. This seller is super conceited and confrontational for no reason.

Thousands of years later, and Julius Caesar's name still echoes in the present, he would be proud of his legacy.
He’s probably the most famous person in ancient and modern history. He’s one of my heroes.
Veni. Vidi. Vici. - Caesar
Julius Caesar is great but I think Constantine is more important when you consider the following centuries and what transpired. If people disagree with this I would find that fair. But I think Constantine's reign had such a powerful legacy that in some ways we're still feeling today.
I actually liked how Rick explained how market value is determined to this guy.

Any normal pawn shop only pays half of the value of what they can get out of an item. That's why you don't go to pawn shops to sell things

seller was annoying AF. expert was a good sport just doing his job
Yes, I agree.. he was disrespectful with both... I hated him
The "experts" are there for two purposes. To confirm authenticity, and get Rick a good deal. The proof is the fact that they start talking about prices before the "expert" comes in. He always asks the seller what he wants for the item before hand. This way he can call his "expert" and say, the guy wants X amount of money for this thing, come take a look. And the "expert" can value the item below the sellers price. I'm sure Rick was paying the experts on the side. If I were selling something to Rick, I would tell him I want to talk about prices after his expert comes in.
@@NikoBased I'm sure I've seen some clips where the experts appraisal was way higher than what the customer was asking for.
@@NikoBased I'm sure I've seen some clips where the experts appraisal was way higher than what the customer was asking for.
@@kozukioden1177 There was one where the seller came in with an old spanish gold coin where he asked for $2,000. The expert let him know it was much higher than that, and Rick therefore offered the seller much higher than $2,000, yet the seller then jacked up his asking to an even higher amount than that. There was also another seller who came in with an old coin where he asked $20,000 for it. Rick offered him a little over triple that after the expert appraised it in front of them, yet that seller also then jacked up their asking price instead of agreeing to what was an already much higher offer than his asking price when he walked in. Those sellers came across as ungrateful when they did that.

I’m dumbfounded when people comment about that. “It’s worth way more than that.” Yeah dude, that’s why Rick didn’t pay that.
It drives me crazy. Just because something is potentially "worth" 50,000 dollars doesn't mean that's what you're gonna get for it at a pawn shop. They don't understand that it's a BUSINESS
@nickh7962 exactly! If you want retail prices you try and sell it yourself. What people also dont realize with collectables is its only worth as much as someones willing to pay as well
Wow this almost seemed like an actual day in a pawn shop, wish there were more of these kinds of (real) episodes
Rick: “The best I can do is give you Cory’s beloved Hulk Hogan poster”
“You’re using your position to screw people.”
This guy must be new.
Yeah but they need to make living and pay for everything to run the shop, staff included.
Rick's probably thinking: ahhh, he gets it
Nah, I think he gets it.
Legend has it that he's still trying to sell that coin.
Seller: I have a coin from Judas Iscariots pocket that was given when he sold out Jesus Christ
Rick: Best i can do is 1 shekel
Iscariot and jesus the christ
he's taking a risk for 1 shekel, 30 agorot tops. 😂😂😂
Hahahahaha
😂😂😂
Perhaps the coin in the video was taken from Bru... uh, I mean Judas' pocket after he "sold out" J.C., for claiming to be a living God. Because of 30 days of silver coins.. er, I mean for 30 silver coins.
One thing that you can take from this, notice that the guy was dickish with the expert as soon as the estimate was given, and Rick offered him 2/3 of the price right off the bat instead of the usual half that he starts with. So his attitude was good, at least at the start of the negotiations.
EGarrett01 cuz rick knew he couldn't scam the guy by offering half price, even though he still did with the 1k offer
All i want for christmas is to see rebecca. Pls. Make one again..

That dude is off his rocker, or he could be a genius! He knew he would get low balled at the pawn shop, but he also knew he would be on national television with millions watching. And if the right person was watching, he or she could easily seek him out and purchase the coin.
Are they certain they will be on tv? What if the cameras aren't there that day?
I wouldn't say that was " genius" to be on television, but it was a good idea. Alot of people obviously do this as a cheap, self-promoting trick !

@@guitarsrcool4922 It truly is not. Maybe a little below average, but all the legends are visible and decent details. Denarius from caesar easily sell for over $2,500 and as this one is so close to Caesar’s assassination I believe the seller asked a good price

IMO Dave is the best expert on the show
I find these coin clips interesting in that you can relatively easily value most coins with a quick internet search. I don't know what the sellers are hoping to get other than on being on television. I've sold a couple of coins over the years and always get pretty close to the value I researched. It's a tough business to rip some one off in this internet age, most sellers know what to expect and buyers offer fair value.
I think I was actually Caesar in a different life. HAHAHAHAHA

That's because Rick is trying to scam him. There is no way that coin is only worth $1500 retail.
1500 retail means you can probably get it for cheaper than that. For a coin over a 1000 years old thats pretty cheap considering its history . But hey im sure these coins are everywhere right ? Ill probably fine one at my local pawnshop
