It still affects me. Lines like that don't anymore, but it's like I had a scar on that part of my heart so even as I got older that exact line is a weakness.
I remember reading half of the book when I was a kid (I was young so I couldnt get into it, plus I couldnt beat the game). only when I was 14 did I see the full story and I cried so hard...
Ordinary children were traumatized by Mufasa’s death. I was traumatized by Luma’s Sacrifice!

2007. The year of the most emotional Mario games ever. I wish we can have more. Both Super Paper Mario and Galaxy’s stories are by far my favorites of all the series.

What's even sadder is that: Waluigi doesn't have a story line. He just, exist. Never given a chance to shine, being rejected every time. So mediocre at what he does, people question if he is a bad guy or a good guy or not

@@0f3plays40 her mom was dead. The little girl had no mother to go back to. Usually when children dont know what death is, their parents usually tell them that the deceased person is "sleeping". So when she said "My mother is sleeping" she meant her mother is dead. Plus, context clues would show that she's especially upset about her mother, because thats when she broke down.

Man I agree that Super Mario Galaxy had the saddest moments nobody expected. I cried so much at Lumas sacrificing themselves. I didn't cry at all in Rosalina's storybook though I know it's sad.

Rosalina's story is what got me crying... I couldn't help it. Her mom died and she was far away from her home... It sounds awful.

Super Paper Mario had easily the best story out of Paper Mario series. This was due to the great love story between the main villain Count Bleck and Mario's sidekick Tippi. I also loved the gameplay, since it was like an RPG but without turn-based encounters. It's hard to say which one is better, Super Paper Mario or PM Thousand-Year Door, but both are masterpieces.

My favorite sad Mario moment was in Paper Mario: The thousand year door. It was bobbery's backstory, along with the letter he got from scarlet. The fact that he blamed himself for scarlet's death is something everyone can relate to. Locking himself up in his hut, being drowned in his own depression, this is one of the moments where a Mario game shows what grief really feels like. He finally gets inner peace when he gets the letter from scarlet, letting him know it not his fault that she died. All she wants is for bobbery to live happily, without any guilt. Even though bobbery knows this deep down, he had to read what scarlet said for some peace of mind, so he can stop punishing himself. After that, he is finally ready to do what he enjoys most. Being out at sea. I think of all the Mario games, this particular moment is the most human, and is my personal favorite.

I about cried seeing Rosalina's story it's so sad.She lost her parents and her brother then she lost a bunch of Lumas.My favorite would be hers she had a rough childhood kinda like I had.
Well, the Lumas aren't actually "dead", Rosalina says that they reborn after old ones die.
If you think Rosalina had a rough childhood, Then you should see Lucas from Mother 3.

Blumiere and Timpani's sacrifice is my favourite sad moment, hands down. Count Bleck is one of the best and most well thought out villains, and it was SO sad to see him go. At least he understood what he did was bad, and was willing to die to reverse what he had done. Hopfully, the two are happy in the Overthere, together again.

No... Luvbi herself WAS the eigth Pure Heart. She went back to.the Pure Heart Forme when the Heroes of Legend defeat Bonechill. For unknown reasons, Luvbi returns in the Overthere.

Flaminia Rufo Luvbi was revealed to somehow be alive in the post game. At least Tippi and Count Bleck's fates are left ambiguous so it still has emotional impact. Luvbi coming back to life ruined the emotional impact of her "sacrifice"

Rosalina's backstory, Oh boi...
I was amazed, shocked and touched when I watched the storybook when I was four. I've never experienced that a Mario game has more depth than usual. The soundtrack was something special, the switch between the Luma- and the sad girl was surprising and I always felt the emotions Rosalina and the lumas had even tho, I wasn't able to read at that time. My heart showed so many emotions, that I couldn't describe.

I found Count Bleck and Tippi’s story the saddest. So much pain and sacrifice... they TRULY loved each other.
I cried so much at Lumas sacrifice but I cried even more at Rosalina's Storybook. I'm a sucker for Mario and almost every game in the franchise I cry whenever I finish. But Rosalina's Storybook is where I cried the absolute most. I was just feeling the sadness creep up and when Rosalina said "I'll be your mama" I burst out crying. I kept on crying until I heard the saddest line ever. "She's sleeping under the tree on the hill!" That's when I cried loudly. It hit me so hard. Rosalina lost her family and all she had was herself and her Lumas. I needed a box of tissues after I heard that line it was so sad. Rosalina is my favorite character so I just felt so bad. Super Mario Galaxy will always be my #1 all time favorite video game because of its story and how it plays. I will always love Super Mario and how much joy it brings to me. Super Mario and Galaxy in general have a giant spot in my heart and I will love the franchise until I pass. (Sorry I'm not the greatest at grammar)

Saddest moment for me is in super mario sunshine, i am talking about Bowser Jr. and Bowser cutscene. This is so emotional, you feel so sad for Bowser, and with this cutscene Nintendo finally gave an answer to question about Bowser's motive.
