- Princess Peach is bipolar. In some media, she's OP and is more useful than Mario, but in others, she avoids helping at all costs.
Today, we look at Princess Peach in every single mainline mario game and rank her from worthless to elite.

Actually, Peach in SMB3 isn't kidnapped until after you clear World 7. During most of the game, she remains safe in the Mushroom Kingdom's castle and sends powerups to Mario and Luigi, whom she sent to the troubled kingdoms as envoys
Even for that Tiny Correction, she's still Useless Nontheless

I was just gonna say this too. Because after world 7, after you save all the kings, Bowser informs you that he kidnapped the princess in a letter.
But yet she's kidnapped anyway when you use the two warp whistles to skip to world 8
In Mario 3, peach isn’t kidnapped until after pipe land, so that’s how she can mail the letters, and right as you enter dark land, bowser mocks this by sending one of his own

Not sure about SMRPG, but Paper Mario is confirmed to be its own thing outside of the regular Mario universe. Also, Princess Peach is a Peach game, not a mainline Mario game, same for Showtime.

A lot of roles for Peach in the RPG games were left in the dark
In paper mario she's responsible for locating the first 5 star spirits and sometimes have Twink relay them to Mario. She can also collect items and badges, and give them to Mario via a special treasure chest. Finally at the final battle she made a wish to the spirits to increase their power, which allows them to match Bowser's strength... Eh I say she's pretty darn useful despite being kidnapped.
In Super Paper Mario she's one of the heroes in the game, and plays quite a huge role as a result - including having to be the active hero to enter Francis's room!

Super Mario Bros 2 is a GOATED game from start to finish, BEYOND UNDERRATED, and the people who were calling it weird in a negative way can eat their words now that we Mario fans want something new and fresh. It had complex levels, different gameplay and had PEACH AS A PLAYABLE CHARACTER for the first time and it stayed like that for 25 YEARS (1988 TO 2013)

@@emmanuelobandodiaz5860 The point is, SMB2 is a reskin of a Japanese-only game called Doki Doki Panic, and Peach basically copied a character called Lina when replacing her, though unlike in Doki Doki Panic, it turns out that everything that happens in SMB2 is all just a dream.
The Mario was the one time Peach was both helpless and badass all at the same time. Her character was on point for once.

She's sneaking around getting Mario precious info in the first two games. This is while she's kidnapped. At least Pretty Helpful. Mario would have been lost without her info. But she does get possessed by the final boss in the second game, dunno if that'd bump her down any.

In 3D World, I would like to argue ur opinion that “Rosalina > Peach”.
So while Rosalina’s spin is good for combat, and for some maneuvering, as soon as you get a power up, she becomes the worst character in the game, as she loses her ability to double jump. While on the other hand, peach can ALWAYS float, no matter the power up. Same speed, same jump height, but peach has more use cases.
Personally speaking, Peach>>>>>>>>>> Rosalina
That’s a valid argument, she does really suck with a power up, but for levels like champions road, where items are non existent and you need the best character for platforming and taking out enemies without a power up, she’s the 🐐

I honestly really like peach when she’s not useless. In most mario fames she’s really boring but whenever she plays a more active role I really like her. The best examples of this are the early Paper Mario games, with her being playable in Super and TTYD and 64, despite being kidnapped, made active effort to help Mario from within where she could go. I love that characterisation far more then what she usually gets, and it doesn’t even feel out of character for how she usually acts. That’s probably why Movie peach worked for me. It was a bit of an over correction and she doesn’t have her daintiness there which I feel characterises her in every other thing she’s in, but I still enjoyed her in that film.
I guess what I’m saying is thag I just want more from her instead of _just_ being the damsel in distress, and I like the games that do that.
I debatably think peach is beter than rosalina because in the speedrun, she can cancel her cat pounce before she lands (letting go of the attack button) and conservative the soeed of her pounce momentum into her float.
I'm glad we agree on Peach being the best "main 4" character in 3D World (I say "main 4" because Rosalina)
This is why her personality in the movie was so jarring. They basically turned her into Daisy.

NSMB2 is the most useless imo, after you defeat a koopaling, theres another koopaling blocking her from Mario, and she could just kick or jump over the Koopa. Instead she just stands there hopelessly.
Same case could be said for NSMB on DS

Super Mario RPG! Peach is the most OP healer I’ve ever seen in an rpg game
Months after the release of the movie and having time to sit through it I got the feeling that there was something wrong or disturbing to me about Peach and it has nothing to do with her being a woman. What I get annoyed is the usual trend of today that women are capable and awesome just for being. Hear me out. I get the movie tries to explain stuff and why Peach is so capable, but it makes no sense if you really think about it. Her knowing how to use power ups make sense, but knowing Kung fu and being a kicker? Why would she? To defend the Toads? I dont know why Toads would know someting like kung fu to teach her. Now, you can still be a great leader and strong without having to know kung fu. What I also got annoyed is that they changed her character a lot. Now in some parts it makes sense like you cant always have a cute princess for every scene, but in my taste they made her too agresive and too cocky, which also reminds me of modern day potrayel of women. And I like Peach in the games a lot, there are some instances where the movie one reminds me of her but mostly she feels too agresive as to show girls today that they can be as badass. This all sums up that in the end in my opinion they made a less interesiting character. I wanna know Peach and her struggles. It would have been smarter to build her up as her own heroe in the coming movies, instead of being a super hero from the get go. Because then there is no way to grow for that character. We had growth with Mario and Luigi, why cant we have it with her? People say why would Mario save a princess he never met, but they could have changed that. They could have changed so that she is from Brooklyn and already knows Mario, is his date or sometihng and she supports him like Luigi, she gets kidnapped and Mario has to rescue her. It would have been the same movie with a more interesting Peach. She would have to get stronger and fight her way through Bowser. ANd then becoming the princess that we know.
I like to know your opinion. I might be wrong and maybe in the next movies they really build her up as a good character that resembles more the one from the games. I hope so. But for the moment I am a bit cautiously optimistic. I have been fooled before(force awakens-last jedi).

Explain to me how Peach in Super Mario Odyssey is more useful than Peach in Super Mario Run.
I mean... They both do something after you beat the game... But in Mario Run she is literally a playable character. Plus... You can actually play as Peach before beating the game in the Remix 10.
Peach in Super Paper Mario is extremely useful, using her parasol to defend herself from enemies when you duck down and using Cudge to hammer the enemies, using her parasol to float to further away places etc.

In (released some time post-August, but pre-December) the 2005 Nintendo DS video game ‘Super Princess Peach’, see how she braves (in that both music tracks scare me) the music of the stages of World 4 (Fury Volcano) - something she can do much better than Toad could have (and to think those two tiresome, overrated, cliched plumber brothers could brave those two music tracks). Off-subject, said video game was 8 years old, in 2013 (especially, respectively, post-August and pre-December). She’s UNDERrated, compared to the plumber brothers (really like how, in Super Princess Peach, the plumber brothers aren’t playable, let alone Toad isn’t).
I do think it would have been better in the movie if she actually had been saved by Mario at the wedding and THEN proceeded to kick ass, rather than the usual "I don't need no man" stuff.
And just to clarify, it's not even a matter of gender. I would have been equally disappointed if we were following a female character preparing the rescue of a male character, only to arrive there and see that the guy already saved himself.

In Super Mario Bros 3 she was not kidnapped yet, she was only taken by Bowser at the very end as far as I know

I agree for most of the tierlist, but i'd put an extra category, sure she's worthless in some games, but at least its better than in the original super mario bros where she isnt even restrained so she *can* help, she just chooses not to (although it is technically a scenario that happens only once (or twice with sunshine since she's a princess tf do you mean she's *overuled in court* especially when its about the hero of her homeland, so may not warrant a tier)

Interesting thing about Mario 3 Peach is that she doesn't get kidnapped until you beat World 7. Then Bowser sends you a letter rubbing it in that while you were saving the kings, he just went back and did what he did in the first game.
Mario Wonder would prob be comes in clutch because she’s playable but she isn’t the best character. Also idk if princess peach showtime counts.
