So I dropped my road glide special the other day doing 18ft circles between 2 parking spots in front of my 2 riding buddies. It was a gentle fall less than 2mph. One buddy came running over to help me, which it does look a lot worse than it is when your bike is tipped on its side..haha. No biggie, I cranked it back up and did it again. Guys, that was my first time EVER dropping my shit and she was unscathed! However, riding down the road I noticed my engine light on. Pulled over and went through the codes using the odometer trip switch and all it was was a no oil sensor. Cancelled that shit, engine light was off and kept riding that baby!!
That’s what I’m talking about!!!!! Preload!!! And Keep It Loaded!!!! ©
Back and so pleased for your success and for all the people you have helped
Thank you very much!
My brother much respect 60 push up for someone in their 50's is absolutely awesome. Not to many people doing that these days. I remember my Marine Corps days when 3 push ups consisted of 1 push up. That was many moons 🌙 ago. Thanks again for another awesome video keep the good work going and seen you soon in Northern NJ.
Thank you very much! Yeah man those Marine push-ups are no joke!
Thank you so much for your videos Robert! I recently upgraded to a Road Glide and it’s the biggest bike I’ve ever ridden in my 12 years of riding which has really exposed my bad habits. I’ve been using your tips and practicing in parking lots on a weekly basis and am now having a ton of fun on the bike! My fiancé is a police officer and I thank you for your service! Greetings from WA state!
That is outstanding!! Thank you for watching and hopefully you’re subscribed!👍🏾😊 I’m happy that my channel has been helpful to you! That makes all the time and effort that I put into this so worthwhile!

Thank you Robert, i love your videos and help me a lot, i am biker 45 years, but never traine low speed, but now i beleave that i can, i am Sergio from Portugal. Many thanks.
It’s my pleasure. 😊 Thank you for watching and hopefully you’re subscribed!👍🏾😊
Preloading has been practiced by unicycle riders since the inception of the sport OUT OF NECESSITY. Alternating forward/backward pressure on the pedals stabilizes the cycle and allows him to balance and remain upright while practically stationary…..ON ONLY ONE WHEEL! As you are so quick to point out, imagine the possibilities when you’re on TWO WHEELS. It’s exactly the same principle with exactly the same result. Stability. Thank you for sharing perhaps the most important technique fundamentals of the sport. Look forward to meeting you the next time that you visit central Ohio!
Great point! It’s my pleasure. 😊 I look forward to it as well. 👍🏾
Oh Em Geee!!!! Robert, your bike sounds awesome!!!
Thank you very much!
I must tell you something. I’m from Sweden and have riding the bike since I was around 30. I started with Triumph Bonneville, but my dream was Harley-Davidson the classic one. I fell in love at that bike when I was 4 years old and it took up to 30 years of age to afford it. I hadn’t the money before that. When I look at your lesson I think you’re a very engaged teacher. It seems that you love what you’re doing, I love to see people who have the spirit in your way.
Thank you very much! Thank you for watching and hopefully you’re subscribed!👍🏾😊
Your a great teacher....it just amazes me that so many riders have a bike they cannot handle.... i started with a sportstert and then moved up the way it should be,,,,lol

I rode my entire life, but I sold my bike in 2008, and just bought a new Street Glide and it's not
like riding a bike, I turned out of my driveway yesterday and you would think I had a semi, huge
wide turn. Hoping this will help. Thanks for posting your vids sir.
Thank you for watching and hopefully you’re subscribed!👍🏾😊 This will definitely help but only if you practice.👍🏾It’s my pleasure. 😊
Robert, excellent practice session! Seeing the operators improve with each of the exercises is great. Practice does wonders! Thanks for your dedicated training.
Thank you very much! It’s my pleasure. 😊
Robert, love the chapters. I was able to go back to something very easily because I wanted to hear it again. I was asked to get back in to the general area a lot faster. I need to check out that tool.
Thank you very much!
I love that handlebars view!😎👏
Aloha Robert, I want to just say thank you for sharing your knowledge. I’ve been riding street bikes since 1989 when I was a senior in high school, and it just goes to show, no matter how much I “think” I know, I always learn something watching your videos. If you ever find yourself on the Big Island of Hawaii, hit me up, I wouldn’t hesitate to loan you a bike to ride on while you are here. Again, thanks for sharing your knowledge. Mahalo! 🤙🏽

Sweet Husband, I love the mind and body connection on this channel!💋
Thank you sweetheart! Me too!
I now realize that preloading means bringing the RPMs up. I've watched some of your other videos and I thought when you said preloading you meant dragging the rear brake. Now that I know what it means it makes WAY more sense. Thank you for the videos
It’s my pleasure. 😊 Thank you for watching and hopefully you’re subscribed!👍🏾😊
Now that I'm thinking about it I'd love to see a whole video of you doing these exercises just you Robert with the handle bar view and 360 view mixed together on one screen 😀✌️
I actually have a video with me doing all of the exercises, but not with the handlebar view.
Hi Mr. Robert Simmons . My name is Hakki from Türkiye in İzmir . Nice to meet you on you tube channel . Your slogan is very good ( ride with me no matter where you are in the world !!! ) . If it is appropriate in your opinion , we will continue through this together . I have a little problem . My English is not very good . I watch your videos on pause . I will get over this problem in time . Now you are my motorcycle teacher .I have been watching your videos for a while . The tranings are very useful. I wish you a good day and good work . Best regards.

Preloaders having a good day on the practice field! Good job guys!
I found your video's about a month ago. They are my favorite thing to watch when I'm not riding. Thank you Sir. I always get major brain fog when we have to change the time. This morning I went out and did all the exercises up to the figure eight. My motorcycle started talking to me like it wasn't happy, so I stopped and I had been in 2nd gear the whole time. I'm still stunned I didn't drop it. I figure it's worth about 100 pushups.
Thank you very much! No push-ups for that. 😄 Remember, what’s step #1 in everything we do out there?
@@BeTheBossOfYourMotorcycle Make sure it's in first gear. Thank you again!

It’s my pleasure Mike. Glad it helped.
I want to say thank you for your great lessons. I am doing my final bike test on the 17th of March. I went for a ride yesterday, and I never touched my front brakes for the whole three hours of riding.
Thank you for your service and your lessons.
I ride a 2002 Harley-Davidson V Rod. 👊🏿👊🏿👍🏿
Front brakes are the most important thing on your bike for emergency braking. It's invaluable for trail braking techniques. Avoiding the front brake under 10 mph doesn't mean not to use it properly.
@@andrewbrodis1239 Andrew, thank you for your input. We were doing a slow ride, so I used my gears to slow down while covering the front brakes and back brakes to come to a stop.
👊🏿👊🏿
@@SargeantboxingThanks, that explains it. I don't want people to get a fear the front brake, it's too important.
, all good, brother. 👊🏿👊🏿👍🏿
It’s my pleasure. 😊 I was going to mention you should be using your front brake over 10 mph, but I see Andrew already discussed this with you and you have an explanation! Very good!

Of course you can still come to observe and hang out.
Thank you for sharing this video Great job everyone also thank you for your time Robert making these informative videos
It’s my pleasure. 😊 Thank you very much!
you can learn a lot by watching this video, thanks so much for being informative, it's nice seeing how you react to each messup, a little loud (probably not your tone) but because you're mic'd up close. But for real, this really does help especially on small bikes knowing my limits on my Z125 Pro, it feels like a mini bike but a perfect starter bike since I was used to a supermoto. Thanks so much!

Thanks for the demo Robert, I know how the guys feel and I was once in their position. But with more practice you can see the transition in yourself. My problem was keeping the preload during a left turn stretching out.

Hmmmmm. I wonder which creator calls it a crutch. Bet I could guess. G
I say this from a place of total positivity, but the big man on the blue Indian needs to start on a different bike. I hope he learned and came out positive, but that peice has so much HP/TQ even with his size and bike weight he's probably 1000rpm higher than he needs to make the corner. He's just destroying a clutch on a very expensive machine. He could learn this course on an $800 650cc cruiser and then apply it to his $30k bike later on.
Lt., How much motorcycle experience, if any, should a police officer have if he/she wants to become a Motor Officer?
I am on motors, and I recommend little to none. Most of the time, students who ride have a lot of bad habits in motor school they have a hard time. In my class, the students with no experience passed with ease, but the few with experience struggled because bad habits are hard to break. If you know the basics it will be plenty.
@@tedwilliams185 Thanks. That's what I thought.
@@marsoelflaco5722 The motor school was the hardest thing I did in my life, but it was worth it. Good luck and I hope to met you in the open road.

Robert, thank you so much for that great service you provide to the riders' community. I am living here in Germany, where I started riding again 10 months ago on a HD Road King (after hiatus of not riding for about 9 years). Prior to subscribing to your channel a few months back I was never able to "be the boss of my motorcycle". I learned a ton, I practice almost ever day, but I am still struggling with the 18-feet u-turns from a stop. On any practice day, the first 2 attempts are always running wide. But never mind, I'll get there. The question that have is the following: In one of your videos you present the drop guards (to be mounted on the front and rear crash guards. I certainly need them, because I dropped my bike twice already. Unfortunately, theses drop guards are not available here in Germany, so I need to find a way to get them shipped over from the US. On the website of motorcycledropguards.com there is that 1 video (the second from the top) where a riding instructor (I think his name is Jay) says that simultaneously pre-loading, while staying in the friction zone and applying the rear break puts a lot of wear and tear on the clutch plates. What's your opinion on this, i.e. how serious an issue is this from your experience. I ask this question because I am practicing slow-speed riding every day for 30-45 minutes being in that zone . And my 2nd question: what's your take on his technique of "total clutch control" whereby you do all the slow-riding exercises with virtually no throttle (no preload), no rear brake,, and solely using the clutch? Thank you so much again for your great service, and I am looking forward to more illuminating videos from you. I actually would love to partake in one of your training sessions, but it#s a bit a long way from Germany. Thanks and cheers, Lutz
Thank you for watching and subscribing!👍🏾😁 As long as you take proper breaks, your motorcycle will be fine. There are several ways of doing everything. You just have to do what works best for you. 👍🏾
