I never dated before my mid-30s. (Always just found relationships before without trying.) Can confirm dating is soul crushingly awful. It's just horrible. I had what I thought was a really promising date the other week, we got on really well and made each other laugh, and he literally just wanted sex. I dated another guy for a couple of months an he had just been lying to me the whole time. Dating is like dumpster diving for diamonds, but after you've waded through a fair amount of garbage, you start to wonder if it's even worth it. I'm not going to bother for a while.

Well to put it simply : why would men go into the trouble of dating? Because if you think it is costly for you in mental/psychological sense and time it is far more costly for men in all these categories plus financially. Men would go in the trouble of dating for what a woman can offer to a man. And what can a woman offer to a man? It is simple :
1) Kids
2) Sex
3) Domestic comfort
Speaking of modern women we can already forget about the 3rd. So it is about having kids and sex. Men will date only for these two reasons. Either they search for a prospective wife or they just seek sex. And it is quite very much obvious - even men who do not care about noticing such in other men can instantly tell what another man seeks when he approaches a woman to date her, it is crystal clear.
So yes, the guys that want to date you just want No2. That is not bad at all, it is what it is. You are in your mid-late 30s so No1 won't be playing in any man's mind, these men will look in younger ages. You have to accept that dating is all about having sex, that is all, there is not much more to it.
@@dinos9607 Luckily some guys are not shitbags and do actually want someone as an equal partner to share their life with, rather than just to use, but these ones are best found not on dating apps. I don't mind the ones who just want sex, if they are upfront about it.
If you are an older man (38+) dating to have kids, (weird, but ok...) good luck to you finding a woman younger than 30 - they're generally looking for men around their age too.
And men being the only ones spending money on dates is really a thing of the past now, at least where I come from.

I’m exhausted from dating too. Tired of going through the process of small talk about myself and them only for it to fizzle out within a matter of weeks.

Tbh, I’ve given up. Everyone I know is married with children. I’ve reached the age where dating is pretty much over. Men get to be in the ‘game’ a lot longer. And that’s exactly what it is. It’s all mind games and psychology and all I’m looking for is honesty and simplicity. It doesn’t exist nowadays. I have a good job and friends, so I guess I’m content on my own.

I'd say only give as much as your getting, until they've proven they can be just as vulnerable or they can "over give" as well.
I don't think it's so much about calculating as rather checking your reflexes. Do you really want to give to any random stranger as much energy, effort and attention as to your best friend? Because look, he's still really just a random stranger you had two nice dates with. That kind of thing. So it's more about adequate responses to reality, less about being cold blooded strategist. That's how I see it.

Well spoken, Matthew. I feel like that by what psychiatry has been doing to me for 5 months now, instead of proper helpful, meaningful interaction towards getting trauma therapy, they act smiling empty, not responding to the increased stress, bewilderment and anxiety that their non-dialogue gives rise to.
I can't afford private therapy , and I can't give up since I do need help if I am ever going to heal and build a real love relationship. When I tell them the truth, they blame me for not being satisfied with that nothingness! What is going on. How can they. Wasting my time and energy, destroyíng my will and courage to live.
.When PRO'S treat me badly, it doesn't increase my self esteem about men and romantic love.

I love mirroring! It's so empowering to not take crumbs. I've been encountering a few of the hot/cold 40% guys and at the first sign of flakiness, I shut it DOWN (politely). Creating mental space for the 80-100% guy...that's the guy who I find attractive.

When you are in your mid to late 40's, you have little tolerance for anything. Even spending that much time to do your hair and makeup with no guaranteed payoff? No, I don't think so. I'd have to have a little lead that it's going somewhere or it's not worth my time, at all.

You are in your late 40s. If you dont have the time to put some effort in dating - you will have to put that same time into being alone. Dont get mad with the results you dont get by the work you didnt do....

I actually enjoy dating it’s a way to go out and meet people. Relationships take time just go out and have fun. The right person will come when it’s time. Talking about past and being negative is such a turn off. I have cooked for guys but we were dating. I ain’t crazy well maybe a little. 😉. I get guys who will ghost come back and ask me out . I can relate to the Do’s and Don’ts. Ugh, the romantic version of this happened to me recently. I was flattered for about two seconds. Now, my only regret is that I didn’t give him the boot sooner. I know Matthew is always saying that no closure is closure, but I wanted find out from personal experience if that were true. Turns out, Matthew was right (about that at least).

Your video always seem to align with what's going on in my life 😆. It's exactly what I've just learned and now able to do after a lot of significant changes I made. I've come to the point where my energy towards myself and life is what I really wanted it to be. It is totally a game changer and I feel ready for this new season in my life.
Its interesting, men generally can date women who are 10 to 20 years younger than they are and no one bats an eye. Women become "unmarketable" after 40. Who can compete with younger women in the dating arena when most men think they need the younger " model". I am adjusting myself to the fact that at 62 I will be spending the rest of my life alone.
