there was a lot of money involved. getting a polo horse at 14, attending prestigious schools, meeting well educated people all over Europe for years: he is the product of careful grooming.
@@embreis2257so what? Money doesn’t buy talent, a passion for horses and their welfare, or the drive to work harder to improve himself and his horses. Some people who have more money than I could dream of have horses, and they are terrible riders who don’t care about their animals. There are also people who grew up dirt poor and had to take every odd job the could to be able to even afford lessons, who worked their way up from being working students to catch riding, and made a name for themselves through hard work and determination.
@@margauxnodvin7478 Well said! In my 70 yrs, I've seen exactly what you said....MANY times. Money can make you, or it can break you, but it can't make you smarter, can't give you manners, can't give you a work ethic, and can't give you compassion for animals. I can't even really say these traits are taught by parents, although sometimes. Rather, it's in the person's soul and heart from the beginning.
Of all the stable tours you’ve done this is by far my favourite. Unlike the more ostentatious stables, this seems to really put the horse’s welfare first, the stalls are light and roomy and great to hear that they’re turned out so much.
This barn has such a speacial calm and liberating vibe. Tim really seems like a genuine, kind person with a big heart for the wellbeing of the horses as well as the sport. Really awesome video :)
Now this is how all stables should be built!!!❤ Light, open, roomy. Horses are so incredibly curious, they NEED TO SEE OUT, to see what's happening! 😊. Those multi million dollar stables that are closed off boxes, make's my heart weep😢
What an absolutely stellar young man. You can see the love that he has for his horses and also his priorities with their comfort, both physically and mentally. Well done you. Im sure mumma and pappa bear are so proud of you
I’m not sure where the WOW comes from. It’s not a surprise that he’s well-spoken. After all, he plays polo with 11 different horses in a single match and knows all about horse breeds, so I’m pretty sure he is well-educated and comes from an affluent family.
1) Timmy you should be very proud of yourself. I agree with commenter below, you are a very well-spoken, intelligent young man. I wish all of our youth could look to you as a role model in how to present oneself and communicate with others. 2) I applaud your parents in how they raised you as well. With the opportunities and blessings you have had, you seem very down to earth and I think many people can appreciate that. Good luck to you in your endeavors. I can also apply these same comments to Matt - thank you Matt for all you do for those of us that love horses. Much appreciated.🙏
if you invest millions of dollars in education and training of a kid, give them horses at a young age and travel to all the important venues around the world meeting all the important people then after all this careful upbringing is what we just watched really such a surprise?
Timmy Dutta started playing polo at 13 years old. Timmy grew up in a sports horse family, so it was natural for him to start riding at a very young age. His mother, Susie Dutta, is an international Grand Prix dressage rider, and his father, Tim Dutta, grew up playing polo in India. His father also owns and runs Dutta Corporation, a well-respected international transport company that flies horses around the world.
does it mean the family can foot all the expenses on their own? or is there a sponsor for him? who pays for all the upkeep the team of polo players need for their many horses? the club, a wealthy sponsor who wants the club to win some international polo trophies?
@@embreis2257 I bought a dressage horse in Germany and Tim Dutta's company transported him from Germany to Amsterdam to NY then to Quarantine in upstate NY. They were excellent in keeping me informed of how the trip was going.
I got a little insight into Polo when I co-rode a retired polo pony (Polo argentino, came to Europe as a 6 year old). What a crazy sport! But horses are relaxed before the game, go like hell during the few minutes they play and are totally relaxed afterwards again. After the game, they graze together in their herds right next to the polo fields around the transporters or walk around totally free in the surroundings of the polo field. They are horses that like their "work" and still can be horses even though they're athletes. I think that's why they're so relaxed. "My" polo pony is the most chilled horse I ever met. Whatever would happen next to her, she wouldn't care. She is used to every kind of busy, noisy environments. At her 24 years, she still would love to play (we sometimes did a little stick&ball), the very calm pony started to bloom as soon as she saw a ball 🥰 She was officially retired at 19, but the owner did some easy polo games for fun until she was 22. Unluckily, they moved away 6 months ago. I still miss her a lot.
WOW!!! This was incredible. Love this young man, so well versed in the sport.I specially love how he speaks about the care of his horses, they are his team and he clearly loves his horse buddies. Polo has always been one of my loves, so this was really nice to see. Matt, you ought to give polo a try, you just might like it. Thank you for bringing this segment to us, this one was my favourite so far
This was so good. Timmy is definitely wise beyond his years, Good job mom and dad. Ohhh and the beautiful well bred horses are gorgeous. Hey Matt hope to see you in Ocala , FL someday. Thank you as always for your great content.

Glad they actually turn out these beautiful horses to proper big paddocks. Many many yrs ago I ended up talking to a man in a sandwich line. Very smartly dressed. Turns out he was a horse dealer from Pakistan who supplied polo ponies! Supplied ponies to Windsor Polo club. People you meet in London at a sandwich shop!😊
Vast grounds, large buildings and facilities for maintaining the horses and storing equipment. Some plots seem to be reserved for horses, which is very good. The stable is perfect but there's no ostentatious luxury and I prefer it, it's more 'lively', more dynamic. Timmy Dutta is a very young polo player who has demonstrated his abilities and already won many trophies. He is ambitious (in a good way) and there is no doubt about his determination to achieve his goals. I wish him the best! Thanks Matt for this meet 👍👏 💙
I'd love to see a video of Matt and Jesse trying to play a (mini) polo match - after getting some guidance/instruction. Just like they did a jump-off, for example. I'm sure they'd have lots of fun (and so would the viewers lol)
I had the opportunity to try polo, 25yrs ago. Very exciting! Just learning to hit the ball at walk, trot and canter is a task in itself; never mind add other horses and riders plus up the speed! However, something happened during practice play and I've always wanted to ask a polo player what they thought about it. Third practice play I'd been to, on a borrowed pony (coincidentally named Rosie and was identical to your Rosie!)Small, mixed club, everyone owned their ponies, bit clicky, some happy to see more interest in the sport, others less than welcoming... Anyway, ball came back my way, putting me in front, after changing direction, off I go (at a comfortable speed for my capabilities) lining the ball up for a perfect right hand forward motion, hoping not only to hit it but do it far enough for my teammate galloping past me way left, to be able to pick it up and score. A man caught up to me and began to, using his pony, 'ride me off the ball' , Rosie pushed back (really without me directing it) And this player put his knee up under mine and started lifting my leg so I'd lose my balance! Rather than fall, I steered away and let him have the ball. I feel this was incredibly poor sportsmanship in that HE KNEW it was the first time I'd ever gotten a chance like that, and that I was brand new to the sport. However, in an actual match, is this (not the riding off so much) but the leg lift a 'legal' move, and commonly done? Just to finish the story, after my 5th practice game as we all walked off the field, this same lovely man was walking around 20 feet behind me and wound up and smashed a ball to hit me squarely in the back, just below my shoulder blades. For anyone never seeing a polo ball, they are maybe a tad larger than a fastball baseball and they are heavier and harder. Yeah, it hurt; almost winded me! I never went back. THE END
Wow...that was very interesting. I was happy to see how comfortable the young man became as he talked about his horses and the game. I had NO idea how big the field was or how many horses a player might have in the game,
Many thanks to Tim and Matt for this interesting content. It was fascinating. Also, welcome to Florida. It is so exciting to see you here. Like so many other formerly Massachusetts people, my husband and I retired in gorgeous Florida. ( We were lucky to follow Mr. Tom Brady for another Super bowl year.) So thrilled you got to our state. I have learned so much about horses watching you and Jesse! Happy travels!
Wow Matt, white shoes in a barn says so much about how clean and well kept the barn. You are looking especially good in your white. I did like your French blue striped shirt you have. Looking good 😊
Thank you Matt. What a beautiful yard and sensitive guy . Wish you could have had a sit on one of these ponies. They are amazing to ride and nothing like dressage. The best ones actually follow the ball and ride off other ponies thats why mainly mares are used. There's more abuse in show jumping than I've ever seen in polo
Really enjoyed the video and learning a lot about polo horses. Beautiful facility and enjoyed hearing how he utilizes the facility to give the best to his horses. ❤❤
This is a very cool and interesting video! I just got into Polo and am loving seeing the care that goes into the horses and how it’s different than the old standard. Love this facility and his philosophy.
I was heavily involved in track life (early 2000s-2012) then moved south to FL and got involved in the Polo (more so breeding end) world. I got sick in 2019 (required brain surgery) and can no longer ride. This was such an awesome video. It brought me back, so thank you for branching out and posting! Super interesting! Wish we could have seen the horses and riders out playing in the field. What a nice young man, you can tell he loves what he is doing and loves his horses. Did you get to play polo at all when you were visiting the barn?
So excellent, Matt. What a well spoken young man. I am hoping that we get to see the horse’s conformation more closely. The tack would also be interesting as would how the horses are tacked up since it is so specific to the sport.
Yes. The barn's appearance is the least interesting thing about the video, although the fact that all this is just to support the hobby of 1 unbelievably spoiled guy who is only about 18 is notable too, but not for the right reasons. I too want to know more about the tack, the training regimen, and the wellness program of the horses. I'm not a bit interested in the architecture or luxury aspects, and I find the Conspicuous Consumption to be sickening.
So happy u finally went into polo! Theres a few places in the netherlands too. Polo ponies are so amazing. The best mare I ever owned was an argentine polo pony. I miss her every day ❤
Excellent video, thanks so much, that young man appears to be extremely mature. He is very well spoken and is an excellent ambassador for his sport! His parents have "done him well" as we say in the South! Would love more interviews like this in different equine disciplines.
The passion comes through Timmy's body language and his spoken words! So many people act like polo is animal cruelty, and at some level that may be true; a classy player always puts the horse first.
What a fine person! Credit to his parents and to himself. It was a pleasure to watch this video. Maybe another time you can show us a bit of the polo game closer.
Polo ponies are so magical! They’re the most steady and true minded horses, like big ole rugby players ❤ my dressage horse is a daffodil by comparison lol
I adore that this farm (and hopefully all Polo farms) actually turns their horses out...definitely don't see decent turnout in the Dressage or Hunter/Jumper farms down in Wellington (1 hr in a paddock smaller than my apartment daily is NOT decent turnout no matter how you spin it...).
This young man is a really good up and coming polo player. I watched the 2024 World Cup polo match in Wellington FL and he did exceptionally well along with his team, Dutta Corp.
My sister Janette played in the National Championships for University of Connecticut women’s polo. Then she worked polo in Palm Beach, Florida & Carpentaria / Santa Barbara California. What AMAZING athletes those ponies are! They’re very intelligent and very competitive ❤❤❤
I will admit as interested as I've always been in Polo as a sport, I've also always had a bit of a negative view of it because I've heard a lot of bad things about the riders and their treatment of the horses. But this inside look (at least with this one stable) was very insightful and enjoyable. Timmy seems like a really nice guy and the horses there are obviously very well cared for. :)
@@donnapalmeri9573 oh for sure, there's too much abuse that goes on in all corners of equestrianism, sadly. i'm not saying this interview has me believing that there are no bad riders or abuse in polo, just that at least as far as this guy and his stable go, they seem to take good care of their horses, and Timmy seems to really love and value his. for me, i've only seen the negative side when it comes to this sport, so it's nice to see a positive one, in this case, the positive side is rarer. i think we need more of both the exposing of the abuse that goes on, as well as showcasing the good examples and how things _should_ be done when it comes to equestrian disciplines.
I live in Aiken also, Wagener. Definitely lots of polo, and more every year. A traffic jam on my dirt road is my vehicle and one polo player or groom trotting five horses.
It's awfully easy to be impressive when you are that rich! He has a huge number of staff taking care of his horses. Imagine how many staff he has to take care of him! It's as gross as can be!
@@cattymajiv why not take a different look at his situation. Imagine how many jobs this young man is providing. We all know that his wealth is not really his, he’s too young to have earned all of the luxuries he enjoys at his fingertips which is not his fault, he was just lucky to have been born into it. Thankfully he enjoys a hobby that provides work for a whole lot of people.
Probably for the purpose of tours? Particularly the 2nd horse that Matt met apparently bites and kicks. So if there's someone touring the barn, which im sure the owners do alot of tours, i guess its a safety thing for both the horses and visitors. I dont think they stay tied up everytime they're in their stalls. Hopefully they dont.
This was amazing thank you so much. I learned a lot and have a new found respect for polo players and how they take care of their horses. All the best to Timmy - I'm sure you'll go very far.
Hey Matt! I love that you are showing us other disciplines and even trying them yourself! There is only 1 polo league here in CA that I have been around, and sadly they treat their horses like equipment. One dropped from a heart attack on the aisle one time after they ran him for a long time on a 100+ degree day, and the just stepped over him and continued their work... It was awful! They even ride intoxicated. It's horrible!! So this was the much needed view I had to see so I understand this is not typical. Thank you!!
Matt, it was a good interview, however I was frustrated by the camera work. When he went to show his best mare the camera didn't film her, we saw her back end and that was it.
You are in Florida???? I live in Florida! I am so happy you are around! I presume is Ocala. I went to the University of Florida in Gainesville. Cheers Mate!!! 😊enjoy!
I'm sure the same as other equestrian sports--they probably keep their favorites for the rest of the horse's life, but most are likely sold to people who don't need the horse for high-level sport
Love watching Polo matches! Back n 1987 - yes im old! I watched a polo match n Glendale CA near LA Sylvester Stallone aka Rocky and his gf sat a few seats in front of me- he owned a bunch back then. I always wanted to give it a try but never did. You do have to have $$$ to play that sport.
Try out icelandic horses and try out "Gæðingalist" it's like dressage but for icelandichorse. Abit diffrent but they still do most of the moments you do in dressage, half pass etc but not maby flying changes. But half pass in Tölt or shoulder in or a piruette in Tölt (or what to term is). It's a really amazing breed and would love for you and Jesse to see it :) !
Nice to see you back here in florida. There are quite a few stables in the area I live in. Do you have any input about the Kentucky Derby coming up? Thanks again for sharing, really enjoy the videos of you guys put out.
This was a great video. It appears that Timmy and his mother treat their horses to the highest extent similar to Matt and Jesse with their horses and I hope to see him more regularly on this channel. One note is that polo is one of the most dangerous sports and for reason. If anything Timmy is very open minded as he surely is aware of the relationship between Matt and Jesse. Any future recommendations is to see Jesse with Matt during such a tour and interview.

Super interesting! Wish we could have seen the horses and riders out playing in the field. What a nice young man, you can tell he loves what he is doing and loves his horses. Did you get to play polo at all when you were visiting the barn?
@@jennymcgraw855 I would play occasionally. I mostly ponied horses at the track, endurance and a lot of trail riding.
:) Very nice facility, and big! Thank you, Matt and Timmy for presenting it!
I love these barn tours. I can’t wait until you come to Ocala and WEC.
All the best Timmy for your future in top-class polo. ❤
He seems like a wonderful sweet person they all do ❤
Wow, wow, wow. ❤❤❤
What a beautiful place ❤ and really nice people who cares for the horses. ❤
Great interview ❤
So happy u finally went into polo! Theres a few places in the netherlands too. Polo ponies are so amazing. The best mare I ever owned was an argentine polo pony. I miss her every day ❤
Excellent video, thanks so much, that young man appears to be extremely mature. He is very well spoken and is an excellent ambassador for his sport! His parents have "done him well" as we say in the South! Would love more interviews like this in different equine disciplines.
Thank you Matt-really enjoyed learning about a new discipline!❤❤❤
These horses be living better than most of the world 😅 call me sea biscuit *neigh*
🤣
Oh would I ever love to have a barn like this. Florida’s weather is so humid and warm most of the year.
The passion comes through Timmy's body language and his spoken words! So many people act like polo is animal cruelty, and at some level that may be true; a classy player always puts the horse first.
Definitely a rich mans sport. This young man has it all and so young. A great life for him don’t waste a minute. 😊
Please let me know if one of the 28 stalls becomes available. I would like to move in.
🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
I adore that this farm (and hopefully all Polo farms) actually turns their horses out...definitely don't see decent turnout in the Dressage or Hunter/Jumper farms down in Wellington (1 hr in a paddock smaller than my apartment daily is NOT decent turnout no matter how you spin it...).
This young man is a really good up and coming polo player. I watched the 2024 World Cup polo match in Wellington FL and he did exceptionally well along with his team, Dutta Corp.
Beautiful stable, beautiful horses. Excellent interview. I loved it.
More "Dark Sides" of the horse world needs to be shown to the public. We only get to see the "Good Sides". Just saying.
Great job Matt!! You asked all the questions I would have wanted answered!!
So nice to learn things about polo, thank you.
These two look like brothers 😊
I use to tack and groom polo ponies in the 70,s early 80s .for the greater grand rapids polo club .for john buth .best time of my life
What a wonderful proud American young guy. Super sweet❤
Very impressive young man!! I live in Aiken so lots of polo here. I go to games occasionally. Exciting sport. He seems to love his horses!!
I live in Aiken also, Wagener. Definitely lots of polo, and more every year. A traffic jam on my dirt road is my vehicle and one polo player or groom trotting five horses.
What a wonderful young man! Thank you Matt!
An impressive young man! Thanks for sharing!
@@cattymajivCould you stop replying to every single comment like this? You're overly negative.
Such knowledge in that young age! You can he likes what he’s doing ♥️ MATT, was he taller than you 😮 He did such great job on the tour!!!
❤ Delightful! Absolutely enjoyed this whole interview, properties and insights ❣👏👏👏
Thanks for the video, Polo seems insulated if you are not in that world. I have heard negative things about it over the years.
Loved this...thanks Matt and Timmy!
Will keep an eye and ear out for your future accomplishments, Timmy! Such a fine young man!
Wonderful document of young man with true passion!❤
What was the reason behind the horses being tied inside the stalls?
Great question! That's nuts!
The other horse wasn’t tied. It’s probably drying or about to be handled
Love this but would've loved to see more of the actual barn/yard!!
Yes, I would love to have seen her too!
Great Video love the stable
You are in Florida???? I live in Florida! I am so happy you are around! I presume is Ocala. I went to the University of Florida in Gainesville. Cheers Mate!!! 😊enjoy!
Oh...and Thanks Matt and Jesse!
Really.. awesome video Mat
The question is what happens when the horses can no longer be of use on the polo field?
I'm sure the same as other equestrian sports--they probably keep their favorites for the rest of the horse's life, but most are likely sold to people who don't need the horse for high-level sport
Interesting, Thank you for the video.
HeckYeah this is fun 🐎🐎🐎
Fascinating episode!
over 30 years ago I worked at a polo yard in Richmond surrey
Who is this handsome young man? So eloquent and knowledgeable in his sport and a true animal lover.
Wonderful interview.
Love the respect that guy is wearing
Impressive. A well spoken lad!
Nice to see you back here in florida. There are quite a few stables in the area I live in. Do you have any input about the Kentucky Derby coming up? Thanks again for sharing, really enjoy the videos of you guys put out.
What a nice gentleman!!
I really enjoyed this video!
❤❤❤ such a great stable tour
This was a great video. It appears that Timmy and his mother treat their horses to the highest extent similar to Matt and Jesse with their horses and I hope to see him more regularly on this channel. One note is that polo is one of the most dangerous sports and for reason. If anything Timmy is very open minded as he surely is aware of the relationship between Matt and Jesse. Any future recommendations is to see Jesse with Matt during such a tour and interview.
Not much into polo but I am fascinated by the use of cloning to produce top polo ponies.
