Guess what, it's almost 50 years later and I'm still watching Lucy and Carson on this crazy thing they would have never imagined back then, called the internet.
Here we are, 44 years later and yes, Johnny, we're still watching both of you. I'm sure I'll still be watching when we hit that 50 year mark. Miss you both.
I introduced my kids a couple of years ago to Lucille Ball via RUclips. the one I chose was the chocolate factory, where she & Viv ended up eating most of the chocolates. Such a classic. May she RIP
The difference with television today is the sterility. There was a laid back, off the cuff feeling of television then. Around the 1990s, it all became so very obviously commercial. Of course it always was, but today it’s pushed down everyone’s throats. Think of David Letterman, he was constantly at odds with NBC and his antics. Today, he’d be canned in a heartbeat, as he pretty much was, come 1992.
My dads favorite show….How right he was too. Those were the good old days, and I had no idea how good ! I’m now 61 yrs old. Johnny, Lucy, and Ed are long gone. The Tonight Show in the era was something that it won’t ever possibly be again ! 🥂 to Johnny Carson & Ed McMahon !
Years later, still watching Lucille Ball Dean Martin show and movies and the great Johnny Carson. Nobody comes even close to these stars years later. They were true talent
My Dad had a voice that always put me to sleep. When I couldn't I would go on the couch and he would start talking and out like a light. I sure do miss him
@@jamespfitz No, it's not rough. The drinking canceled out the smoking...Her voice was always a little rough, forcing it was part of the character she played.
She will forever be one of a kind...Just a comedic miracle. I just bought a huge set of I Love Lucy shows from the 1950's. A box full of fun, helpful during these crap times. Jerry Lewis movies, too. He's fantastic. Zany and fantastic!
There's people we see through our lives. Johnny Carson was one of those people I never thought would pass on. He did. But he left behind these shows we all love
Right before this I watched a clip from 76 of Johnny with Gregory Peck. Now this. By this episode I was completing my first year of college. I stayed up and watched Carson every night i could. Peck, Ball--the GREATS. In my living room, night after night. I am so glad not only to have seen them perform in movies nad on TV, but to feel like I got to know them a little with Johnny. Did I mention--the GREATS.
And 44 years later, since the 1977 air date of the Jonny Carson show, I love Lucy and the here’s Lucy shows are still very enjoyable, entertaining and hilarious! 🤣
Yes, Lucy and John. 45 years later, and you two are still cracking us up with things many of us have seen multiple times. Damned funny is damned funny no matter when it was made.
Love them both.... 2 of the greatest who had absolute respect for and adored each other. There at the end, she knew better than to leave that door open for him!! 🤣
Love Johnny Carson.. Since I was born in Wusterhaven Berlin Germany. When my parents moved to United States when I was little, after my parents divorced. lived with my mother's sister and her husband. I started watching classic shows and movies, the movies and tv shows of today, are just to violent, not saying that all of them are, I just prefer old shows and movies.. Love you Lucy😘😘🥰 I'm still watching " I LOVE LUCY" she's such a treasure. After 44 years, Johnny Carson still going strong.
Lucille Ball and Carol Burnett the two best female comedians ever...no one even comes close and yes Johnny we are still watching you all these years later
The earliest television, and I think Lucy still holds up pretty well, but then again, I'm biased. I watched "I Love Lucy" in the early seventies, when I was a teenager, stuff that was made 20 years earlier. I watch it today through those same eyes and still think it's great. It made me tear up a bit when Johnny asked if she'd be remembered in 50 years. I still remember you, Lucy! I refuse to use past tense: you are a brilliant comedic actor. No small thanks to the great Vivian Vance! Love you, Lucy! And you too, Johnny!
Amazing Johnny mentions "...in 50 years.." which sounded so far into the future then. Now, we are close to the end of 2022, and that 50 years is almost here. Miss them both.
1977 to 2021 that I'm listening. But I was listening in the 60s too. So wow yes more than 50 years and just another 6 years and this show will be 50 years old.
OMG I've been binge watching Lucy interviews because I just ended watch Being The Ricardos (LOVED IT!) and I almost instantly knew she was a Leo she is so commanding and talks over people and is of course funny and entertaining, I knew it because im a Leo RIP
episode 3667: Desk- "Suggestions and Questions from Audience for Johnny" the other guests were Erma Bombeck, Jay Leno and Joey Heatherton. Thursday. Annie Hall opened in theaters the Friday before.
That was a very strange interview. o Of course I respect Lucille Ball and love her work but I think kudos go to Johnny for being able to make that interview work.
50 years.......... not too far off. When I was in grade school, my bedtime was 9 p.m., except on Monday nights. My mom let me stay up to watch Lucy. I still laugh at every episode. Everyone has their favorites, mine are mostly the California shows. I love when William Holden and John Wayne appeared. Who can’t laugh when Lucy’s nose lights up? And when she and Ethel dropped John Wayne’s footprints “YOU SCARED ME!”. People will still be watching in 100 years.
The greats do last, my favourite show started in 1955 (The Phil Silvers Show aka Sgt Bilko) and I still watch it regularly. An episode of Lucy is on the Bilko DVDs "Lucy and the effeciency expert"
44 years later... WE ARE STILL WATCHING YOU JOHNNY!
....and Lucy.
Sure thing

Yes!!!! ❤

Well Lucy’s show came on in the 50s so we are watching I Love Lucy almost 70 years later. Crazy
Still the best talk show of ALL time.
Oh no comparison
Its Johnny.
These guys today are NOT funny!!! Carson all time best!!
@@thebluedragon1532 they're not funny and they got no class

It's 50 years later and Lucy is still the best ever!!!
Almost 50 years and *I love Lucy* is still hilarious!
I've seen a lot of guests challenge Johnny but Lucille is the only one who's able to keep him on his toes. Great gal and wonderful talent
She’s the only one with the clout to do it.
Huh? Johnny was never not on his toes!
45 years later and we still love Lucy and Johnny. No politics, so trfreshing.
2023 and WE STILL LOVE LUCY
2024!!
And now my grandkids are watching Lucy

3:00 and Johnny correctly predicted about watching her show 50 years later.
Amazing, right?
@@S1L3NTG4M3R Ye ye that’s right
Was that Johnny or The Amazing Carnack?
I'm still watching this til now.
A wonderful entertainer. A wonderful person. A fantastic talent. No one like her. Ever
Her graciousness to the audience is beautiful to see. And her blunt honesty with Carson. That’s nice.
it's 2021 and Im watching all the reruns on line...loving it :)
Johnny Carson is the best, and Ms Lucille Ball is as well ! Would have loved to have met this amazing lady ! 👍❤️
My grandfather was deaf, but I was told he always laughed while watching Lucy shows. I think that is so neat!
That is really cool.
I’m so glad I grew up in the 70’s.
2 of many goat’s of a lost era‼️
I was watching Jonny’s show right to the end, he was great 👍 wonderful 😊

👍 They both were.
I watched a lot of Nick at Nite in the late 90s when I was a teenager. Fell in love with Lucy and do many other classic shows. Thanks for the laughs!
And here we are almost 50 years later...
50 years later to the year, we’re still here loving both of you! Sorry Lucy, but we still are!
Johnny you are the best,
I would want Mr. Carson to read me a goodnight story. His voice is the most calming thing I've ever heard.
that's what people used to fall asleep to almost every night and here I am listening in 2021 when I think I watched this when it first aired in '77.
My Dad had a voice that always put me to sleep. When I couldn't I would go on the couch and he would start talking and out like a light. I sure do miss him
True, but you know that's a smoker's voice, just like Lucy's.
@@jamespfitz No, it's not rough. The drinking canceled out the smoking...Her voice was always a little rough, forcing it was part of the character she played.
A sexy man.
This is WAY funnier than anything on TV today!
43 years from the date of this show, I watch and absolutely appreciate these two individuals. Johnny was correct!
I'm still watching Lucy and I'll still be watching years later. I still listen to My Favorite Husband as well
Closest to Lucy was the Roseanne show and the Nanny.
bet your ass were still here watching you both in 2022
Ha! Forty-six years have gone by and I still laugh at every I Love Lucy episode and I still came here to see Johnny.
Johnny was right God bless him; here we are 6 years away from the 50 years he said, and we are still watching I Love Lucy. And him as well!!
And 44yrs later I still love Lucy what a wonderful woman

So talented. Her physical comedy was delightful. Funny and adorable at the same time, she made you Love Lucy.💖💖💖

Carson knew we would be on the toilet watching him and Lucy 50 years in the future. Lol jk these two are true Legends. Respect. 💯

Lucy reminds me of Shelley Winters on the show. Johnny was a one of a kind shinning Lone Star that I miss.

Imogene Coca is in the same league. Others who are didn't have shows at the same time. Martha Raye is another huge comic talent.

Johnny was a class act. Look what we have today. Crass doesn't come close to describing it.
She was so regal, and earned it the hard way. A born leader.
definitely!
I was watching an episode of The Lucy Show the other day. I laughed my a$$ off. Good stuff!
You want to check out some episodes of The Phil Silvers Show (Sgt. Bilko) that's another one that the humour doesn't age

Lucille was as smart a star as there ever was. The best female physical comedian of all time. Carol Burnett second, then everyone else
Imogene Coca, too.

Lucy is timeless. 💟💟💟
A multitude of female comediennes have Lucille Ball as their no. 1 inspiration. She was brilliant, brave & did not care if she looked daft.
