I was born in '57 I didn't catch the original broadcast I watched the show in syndication for many years. They were a lovely couple, soul mates. One could see the love. It's sad to know what happened to them behind the scenes. His drinking & womanizing. He was a very handsome man. She was beatiful. Very funny together & the show was well written. I never thought about the fact that she changed her voice for the show making it higher than her real voice to make her character seem less intelligent & ditsy She suffered a miscarriage early on in their marriage before Lucy was born. They were television pioneers what they did as a couple was genius. Thank you for posting.
I have always loved Lucy and still do I would put my dolls down and sit in front of the tv and watch Lucy even though it was in black and white I fell in love with rickey.😃
Grew up watching reruns of I LOVE LUCY , i think them being so in love really showed , sad that the last season even tho good you can see they were differNT , but we will always and forever LOVE LUCY
LUCY & DEZI IS IN HEAVEN, BACK IN THEIR EARLY 30'S YEARS OLD. LUCY SEE YOU COMING AND LEAN HER SHOULDERS ON A NEARBY WALL ETC AND WATCH YOU GO BY ALL THE WHILE SMILING AT YOU!
ALTHOUGH IT WAS MORE EXPENSIVE TO SHOOTING THE FILM USED, DESI DESIDED ON IT. HAD HE NOT WE WOULDN'T HAVE THEM TODAY. THIS FILM LASTED THE OTHER AT THE TIME HASN'T. IT WAS HIS FORSIGHT FOR HISTORY❤
Lucy Jr did kinda sorta look like her famous Mom... But I don't understand why Lucy jr didn't want anything to do with the show but Lucy was actually pregnant with DESI and so the writers decided to keep her pregnancy part of the show but they didn't even have Desi Jr in the show and they got another baby to play little Ricky...
This script was no book ,it was a probably a therapeutic tool ,suggested by Dr Vincent Peele ,an evangelist, Lucy believed in totally and took his advice when she was distressed. He must have advised her to bring out all her angst and trauma about her bad marriage Which is why the tapes stop at the point of her divorce from Desi ,the tool did work ,and there was no need for them any more. But it came in handy to pretend it was a book and publish it and make more money for the heirs
Even if that is true , they were not the first nor will they be the last but that fact the even you know about their marriage says something all on its own… they worked hard and were very talented…. What’s your claim to fame???
Lucy deserved her success. She worked very hard for it.
She p as id her dues and over came the obstacles.
You bet she did!
You don’t have to be rude to others. No excuses
@@shadrach6299 who have I been rude to?
Amen to that 🙌❤🎉😊
Back when Dateline wasn't about just about people being murdered.
Correction: it's about women being murdered by their husbands, boyfriends, etc. Same thing every week, so boring.
@@SorayaEsfandiary_
Well not always. They often do stories about men, children and teenagers being murdered.
She will always be a legend ❤

♥️♥️♥️♥️♥️my favorite actress
Desi Jr sounds like his Dad so much only with better English.
Luci Arnez can express herself well.
its like she has no life except for her parents,
@@marilynwillett804 She has her own life and her own family. Of course she's going to speak about her famous parents in interviews.
I loved this blast from the past ~ a great, interesting story. And wow - what solid gold performers. Hard working and sparkling with talent.
I bawled like crazy when she died.
Good to see Lucy children Thanks for narrator of this young lady God bless you both

Thanks so much for posting this, it is so timely, what with the 70th Anniversary of I Love Lucy and the Aaron Sorkin Movie, Being the Ricardos. 😊
My pleasure think of this as a Christmas gift
The first female studio head.
Desilu her and ricky
FYI Lucy is from Jamestown New York outside of Buffalo
Miss Her
This is a classic dateline like another on desi and lucy finding lucy
Enjoyed watching this again. A book was published based on what Lucy created in 1964. I read it when it came out in 1997. Would love to read it again.
You watched it before?
Desi's "singing" was HORRENDOUS!!! But I still love Lucy!!!!
His voice fit his songs ..and he was a business man a good one at that ..thankgod Lucy fought for him to be on the show and what a legend it is ❤
Thank you!
You bet!

Thank you for posting! Would love to see more Dateline episodes if you have them.
I found two more I'll post when I have time

Thank you so much, I'm in HEAVEN!
Lucille Ball Was Gouragas and she worked hard and became a legend.
The family should share and publish the original recordings.
Lucy definitely was the queen of comedy... But she also did serious movies... like...Mame
My father looked so much like Desi Arnaz.
My father was Greek but looked like a tall Cuban. We lived in south Florida and people often spoke Spanish to him. I miss my father!
I hope you post more videos as well!
Thanks Dennis I think I have all the dateline that I got but if you find any from any website send me a link
You know, I think there are, even now, many more stories and interesting analysis that can be done on their relationship.
Dateline 1.27.24
What a love story.
I loved her in her movies before I Love Lucy & Ricky
It was fun seeing Lucy in that episode of The 3 Stooges, "The 3 Little Pigskins."
Desi Jr really looks just like his famous father
❤❤❤❤❤❤
ya in 1996 i was 12 and i did get that book and i read it.
That voice used to drive me insane.

Its such a shame they couldn't make it work out. I wouldn't have put up with his shanagins though. Sad for the children.
Lucy had perfect figure and her daughter looks the same.
how any woman can walk around smiling with a human body inside her own is beyond my understanding.
If desi arnaz was here he could tell you what happened to his f!mily because of the political party in power at that time

In the end Lucy got greedy and forgot about thank you and good luck Ricky!
Why do Normals not realise that actors act??
It's true that opposites do attract, but they make marriages made in Hell.
It's Sad that Desi drank and became a Womaniser and Lucy got tired of it and that's why she divorced Desi.
no respect for a serial adulterer/alcoholic and his enabler.
And, the Sourpuss Community is heard from, duly noted.
