That was shocking how fast the lava engulfed the rock. Its great to see up close all the different areas being affected and watching how the lava behaves. Thank you and please don't take risks for the sake of a video... The Lord be with you... Amen
These videos have allowed me to witness the volcano’s behavior up close and personal. It’s so different from any documentary I’ve ever watched. Thank you! Your work is truly appreciated!
@bear Perhaps you are trying to be funny, but geology is a fascinating field of science. It is very important science for society. Some things in this science are pretty obvious, but it is fascinating to watch when it is happening (such as this lava flow)
@bear maybe I should count myself lucky that my english isn't good enough for me to understand if your are trying to be funny or maybe just not nice. The later would be very disappointing. To me these type of stones indicate that Mother Earth new about cubism long before Picasso created his master pieces. RIP Stone ⚰😭
@@manuelabreinich3019 I think he is trying to be funny but his words are oriented/implied in a slightly mean way. I tried to reply nicely, but he appears to have a more of a bad/mean attitude than I expected. Many people are watching these videos because they are fascinated by the volcano. If he thinks that is stupid, I don't know why he is wasting his time here.
As for lava, that is certainly the most amazing footage I have seen. Am sitting here, Agape. Cheers, Gut'n Guy! Tell Lava I love her. 🎶 🎶Tell Lava not to cry, My love for her 🎶 will never 🎶 die.
Wow... right time, right place! You get the best shots, my friend. That was crazy fast...😳... a "glacial erratic" cemetery. Who says rocks can't move?! Thanks, as always.👏😎✌️🇮🇸❤️🇺🇸
So fascinating to watch , the meeting of the two eras , how small is man in the scheme of things . The rock might be buried by the lava but it will survive ! Blessings for all your efforts, have the greatest admiration for you and your wife .
Wow, now that just goes to show just how fast this lava can move. Please be careful GT. it looks as if one could be cut off quite easily. Thank you for putting yourself in potential danger for us. Fantastic footage as always. Stay aware and stay safe. Regards from 🇬🇧 xx
My goodness this film makes me realy nervious about you, my mind is going like: are you aware of what is going on in your backside, are you to much involved in filming to be save??? So good each time you let us know where you are at the moment and are showing also the whole situation. And thank you again for your angagement, your daily report, i am looking forward each day to see the ongoing process. Its amazing what happens and also your pictures of lava flow . Wish you all the best stay healthy.
I have been watching the volcano erupt all day (my time) and its been pushing out huge amounts of lava and has pushed through new tunnels because of it
We are witnessing one of the most significant, profound and prolific events of history. There is a message here that need to pay attention too. This is no exordinary event its spectacular
You, and your Icelandic goddess wife, are providing people from all over the globe with incredibly informative detailed views of this unique event. Always stay safe. Love to you both, from Toronto.
Further reading from AntarcticGlaciers.org. “What is a glacial erratic? Glacial erratics, often simply called erratics, or erratic boulders, are rocks that have been transported by ice and deposited elsewhere. The type of rock (lithology) that the glacial erratic is made from is different to the lithology of the bedrock where the erratic is deposited.” PS: Amazing to think valley was at one time covered in ice! Now stone is about to get a hotfoot.
you have intriguing videos that no one else seems to shoot BUT you end them too quickly! I wanted as I am sure others also wanted to see the lava surround the Glacial Stone.
Thank you for your unique and wonderful sensibility in the vignettes that you show us. I have never seen the movement and character of lava revealed as you have. Everything you share about the places you film is also so charming. I've shared your videos with all my family. Thank you, and please take very good care for your health and safety on each trek. Kindest greetings and regards also to your wife who accompanies and collaborates in this amazing video record. Thank you both.
Your videos are so amazing! How wonderful and exciting to watch this "with you" WOW that was so fast! Watch your back! Don't let any lava sneak up on you!
I understand this volcano differs from most others by coming directly from the magma rather than from pockets of magma in the crust. Maybe the lava is far hotter and therefore more liquid, those waterfalls coming out of it look particularly splashy. Being more liquid it would spread further. Living in the remnants of a 23 million y/o shield volcano it's extraordinary to watch the forming of a new one. Thanks for covering this spectacular event.
Now THAT is so cool 😎! I wondered if it’s melting that rock, even at the base of it? After all that Rock looks like it was also a product of an eruption 🌋 many billions of years ago. JUST So COOL!
Thanks to share with us all of this. I get an idea about the flow Geldingadalir as it seems about to merge with the flow in Nathagi. Why not dig a channel toward west and build dam along the threshold which lead to Nathagi? As far as I know, there is plenty of space on which lava can go and spread harmlessly toward west.
Pretty soon the lava will flow over the entire mouth of the valley…that will be an incredible sight to see, like a massive lavafall instead of a waterfall. Probably within a week or so considering how fast it is spreading out on top in Sydri Meradalur…stay safe. :)
Firstly, thank you for these videos. You maybe the last person ever to see or touch this rock. Remarkable.
I like when you stop and linger to show us the lava and the erratic on fire!
Well this will be a memorable day for you! It's coming down fast! So fast it's getting scary! Stay safe!

You get the best shots ! Sometimes I'm frustrated when you move the camera so fast but you have a knack for interesting details.

@bear eradics àre very common in Ohio I find them fascinating most here are very rounded almost polished

I never thought I would feel such sadness for a glacial erratic!
I did too
Astounding, the speed of that flow. I appreciate you witnessing and documenting this eruption, but please continue to be very, very careful.
I agree, as much as these videos are fantastic his health is far more important
I freak out every time he gets too close 😂
This!!100% THIS!
Me too, Tony!!
It’s just hypnotic…. 🙏
You love erratic's, and we love you!
amazing thanks from England wow

A hundred thousand years is for mother earth the same as yesterday evening in a human life. A million years is like last week.
🌋🧡 Thank you for showing & informing viewers of features around Fagradalsfjall volcano! 👍
You stand where no man will ever stand again. Freaky thought.
GutnTog be constantly watching your 6 with this fast moving lava.
Moving so fast. Wow!! Thanks for the great video!
The story of this glacial rock is the very epitome of Icelandic “Fire and Ice” 🔥 🧊
This is the most incredible footage. You are right there at the leading edge. Stay safe Roman and Nina.
The subtitles are absolutely hilarious! I always suspected, that Islanders hid their "Glacial erotics " in the hills. 😂🤣😂
be careful! Some of those large boulders contain pockets of air and water. When suddenly heated they can explode, sending shrapnel flying.
Wow, that did come down the hill fast!

Me sitting on my armchair: Run sir! Run! Lava is coming! Thank you for your vidéos!
Excellent footage!!
The rock is glowing from the inside. Whow thank you for this experience
Awe lava just wanted to say hi to its old friend the rock - gave it a big hug -
Props to you gutnog, I wish I were there to watch thanks for these amazing videoes...
Dude INCREDIBLE footage!!! 👏👏👏
You have done it again, best video, please be careful there it's getting unpredictable.
As always you get to capture the last glimpse of those glacial erratic stones and as some would say on "GutnTog erratic stones"!
Lava “Yum, Glacial erratic! Love this stuff! I think I’ll melt it up and swallow it!” Gulp....belch....
"I didn't expect it to move so fast!"
That is just what a great many dead people would think, if they could still think.
Stay safe.
Oh wow...moving so fast...
Wow the speed of that flow is impressive not a place for the unwary!
unreal and such a rapid lava attack on the landscape! Ty for being there and sharing!
That sound was the rock spirits trying to deter the lava from the rock
It's just incredible to wonder where it's all coming from! Spectacular and unbelievable
Thanks 4 the vdeo
& update of Iceland Volcanoes..
Godbless & keepsafe
Frm.🇵🇭
So happy you waited till it got there!!
Amazing how the lava slows down near the glacial rock and approaches it almost respectfully.
Secondly, you are in the right place. When the flow breaches the crest and starts down the steep incline it will be something to record. (?)
The next Lavastreet its comming ! Thanks for you Videos.
Mesmerizing... and fascinating!
Wow.
Amazing video!
Greetings from Downunder.
Thank you for showing the power and beauty of a vulcano to the world. I am glad to see the wind at your back . . . take care!
It’s like that lava flow wanted to impress you: “Look what I can do.”
EARTH SAYING "HOLD MY BEER"
It knew it was being filmed and had to show a good performance.
LOL on the "look what I can do"
Yeah, you’d better step back!! Can’t you hear us yelling at you?❤️❤️
@Brenda Carter - IKR
😬 😯 🛑👋⏳🙏🏼 💕
He is a worry our GutnTog. 🇦🇺
You're right, Brenda! I'm yelling at my tablet "look behind you, don't get trapped!!!!" Wow!!!
Gutuntog- honey youall a mess! As my texan girl friend would say! Hoho! so bold your wife needs to pull you outa the lava by your coat tails! Hoho
It’s interesting to see these stones on Google Earth today and know that after the next satellite scan, they won’t be seen again.
I have been watching the volcano erupt all day (my time) and its been pushing out huge amounts of lava and has pushed through new tunnels because of it
That’s an amazing sight. The last human to touch that rock
These are such amazing videos. Please be safe. Especially the air quality. Much appreciate.
Thx to you, now I can say I know what a dragon looks like :-) Paule from France.

FASCINATING! Thank you for filming!
That lava is really determined to reach that stone as fast as possible.
Ihr habt das schönste und friedlichte Naturereignis end the best Videos auf diesen Planeten!👍👍👍👌👌👌

WOW!!! Please be safe, Roman, and thank you so very much!!
It sounds like a hissing snake or fire breathing 🐉
Dragon's breath!

Sometimes it’s because his camera overheats and stops….most times
@@lesliefischer6680 I never thought of that lol and I am a photographer! I really can't imagine what the heat would be like radiating from that lava!
The volcano is rounding up its wayward children who ran off during the ice-age
@JONATHAN SUTCLIFFE did you take your pills as the doctor said?
Goes by the name Haggis no doubt
@JONATHAN SUTCLIFFE 😂😂😂 what a hottie hey? Lol
@JONATHAN SUTCLIFFE beast
@JONATHAN SUTCLIFFE this volcano is a beast.
Absolutely terrifying and completely mesmerizing! Incredible footage. I pray you stay safe.
Longest game of catch between a glacier and a volcano ever.
@Tom Thumb - Good one 😆
Please take care, be safe, run
It sounds almost as if its inhaling as it moves.
That "erratic" rock was itself a lava at some point in the ancient past. It looks like it will again become that.
Just what I was thinking. Also that the lichen weren't liken it very much
@@FreemanVashier - 🌋😎🌞
Glacial erratic to lava: "Ahhh! The touch of FIRE! Melt me up baby! It's been 200,000 years since I was molten! I've been glacial too long!"
@@FreemanVashier And that poor mole snoozing in its burrow underneath.
What goes around, comes around.....eventually
Very Beautiful !!
Absolutely incredible and terrifying. The eyes sees menace and destruction but this is also creation and beauty, just not on a human time scale.
This video should get some kind of award great stuff
It probably took a million years for that moss to grow there. The moss is thinking, "F-cked again!"
Just one way of nature erasing the past
That's quite fast for a lava flow!

Look like butter of fire
That is some really mean looking lava!

Far from the volcano and still very fluid.
Be carefull that the heat does not explode the stones
