Just want to say, this setup that Mrinal was using is actually a very very nice setup. Me, being a professional photographer, I use almost this same setup to shoot weddings. Weddings that we charge almost double this setup. 😅 Moral, you can take incredible photographs no matter what gear you have. You just need to know how photography works.
Ok we understood that the equipment doesn't matter the photographer matters and the experience shows.SHOCKING!! I'd like to see pro vs pro smartphone vs mobile. I am not a pro but definitely an photography enthusiast. I wanna know if a smartphone can recreate a really good image taken by a pro with DSLR. At the end of the day it all goes to instagram.
Sorry to say it, but I liked Mrinal's compositions a lot more. In terms of cameras, well unsurprisingly you can easily tell DSLR apart from phone, but the biggest things were that fake bokeh was too obvious and Samsung noise smoothing is also to obvious. If you turn off fake bokeh mode and perhaps cut processing by using Open Camera app, S Ultra should be quite a bit closer to real camera. And for best results, you can attempt to apply noise reduction and bokeh in post. Anyway, the whole idea of phone camera is ability to quickly snap some shots, so probably no-one will care to mess around so much with what I just mentioned anyway. And for quick snaps phone shots are servicable. Not great, but decent enough. And phone's Pro mode still let's you to play with some photography goodies anyway, so you have very little need to buy a full DSLR anyway, unless maximum quality is needed or you want actual glass to do cool stuff to your shots. But phone just doesn't suck enough anymore for most people to care about upgrading it for camera.
Manu outside: This photo is good, great , fine etc. Manu Inside: They seriously don't know how to take pictures. Look, How awkward I lookin this picture? , No Rule of thirds follow , Why did I agree to this photoshoot? Anyway, Keep up the Good work ✌️
The only big problem for smartphones is the sensor size, imagine the alpha 7's sensor in the sg22u it would had definitely made more difference cuz increasing pixels only will not give all time best results cuz you need the pixels to be bigger at the same time too. What i would recommend samsung is that it should cut off the 108mp trend and use a 64 mp camera at the size of 108mp image sensor or make that 64mp sensor directly of 1 inch with retractable lenses, and remove the 3x telephoto cuz you already have a 10x zoom lens. My recommendation for camera setup for samsung would be a 1in or more 64mp main sensor with retractable lens that has many focal lengths which will cause it to capture macros when external lens is near the camera sensor and the focusing lens is focusing on near points and when the exterior lens is fully stretched and the focusing lens is focusing on far objects it will take normal photos and the exterior lens should have a fov of 100 to 110° so the primary camera is by default capturing wide photos, and it should have variable aperture from 1.5 to 2.8, the second sensor should be isocell gn2 with either 5x or 10x telephoto zoom and with f/2.0 aperture, third should be a laser focus sensor that can instantly focus on subjects with minimal latency, and after using 2inches for camera setup if there is any space left then they should add a dedicated image signal processor, and they should revive the original s series without the spen and put this type of camera setup in that s phone, and if tech evolves more then they should use stacked motherboard which will create more space in which they can add dedicated rams to the image sensor for ultra fast photo capture and the selfie cam should also need to be removed and instead add a 3-4 inch touch display on the back of the phone to capture selfies directly with the main sensor. Hope samsung takes my recommendation in future
A pro photographer can definitely take awesome photos in a smartphone too. The comparison isn't balanced. Samsung device isn't the saviour here, but his photography skill, which mrinal didn't have.

It all boils own to the lenses though. And even Samsung uses Sony image sensors. In the equipment part I’d say a photograph is 1% the camera body, 14% light and 85% lens. The processing power will definitely change how we capture photos, but I’d any day choose a 1990s mechanical SLR camera with a good lens over todays top notch smartphones if convenience is not a concern. Natural in always natural, processing the photo automatically (without the photographers input) means completely loosing the point. That’s why we use DSLRs + Lightroom + Photoshop to create exactly what we need.
