As an equine photographer and author, my work through "Forgotten Horses" and "Free Horses" takes me across Europe and beyond, uncovering rare and endangered horse breeds. These journeys allow me to shed light on disappearing equine heritage and emphasize the importance of preserving diversity.
I’m fascinated by the unique traditions of keeping horses extensively, seasonally free, or in semi-wild conditions. Europe is also home to several feral horse populations, which face challenges in some areas yet are embraced and celebrated in others.
Exploring these free-roaming horses offers a glimpse into a wilder side of Europe-one that many don’t expect. From their struggles to their benefits and the efforts to protect them, these horses tell a story of resilience and freedom.
