Why not use the onboard hour meter that Honda put in the 2200? Use the Honda Generator App to read it when it is running! I declined a used one when I read the hours at 2985 hours! Works like a DREAM! Can be programmed to tell you when to service all ASPECTS!
Thanks for your comment and for watching. I believe the bracket was purchased on amazon. Ebay may also have them. The hour meter is still working over 4 years later. I think it will work much longer before the battery dies.
Thank you. I got the bracket on amazon. It was around $12-$13 if I recall correctly. Search for hour meter bracket for Honda EU2200I. Also available from other suppliers on the internet. Price varies considerably.
I've had one on my boat for several years and it's still working fine. Never had to look for the battery compartment. I'd look for you but the boat is put away for the winter.
What about the hourmeter’s that are vibration activated I was looking at one of those two sided tape on top of the compressor and you’re done anybody have any experience with one of those?
how is this working, 2 1/2 yrs later? is that bracket a Honda bracket or did you get that with the tach? If you got it with the tach, thats amazing the holes line up perfect with the generator.
The hour meter is still working as designed. I haven't had and issues with it at all since this video was made. Read my reply to B Stearn below regarding the bracket. Thanks for watching the video. I hope it helped.
Picked up one of those brackets on eBay along with a magnetic dipstick. Works great 👍.
The generator already has an hour meter built in. It flashes the light on startup once per 100 hrs. It's in the manual.

Very helpful video. Thanks!
Thank you!
One seen that bracket for sale on EBay and Amazon. Definitely better than drilling a hole through the chassis.
Nice job wrapping the wires. You should do a video on that. Where did you get the bracket?

Where is the battery compartment to the hour meter, and how long does the battery last before changing.

I could be wrong but I don't think the battery is replaceable in this particular unit.
Should have done number 6-32 screws or they would work just a little smaller
