I'm very disappointed in Yoon's behavior 😞 Hope she can do some reflection and think about the image she wants to present as well as the image she wants to present to the world
The only 4th gen mentor i will ever accept at the moment is Soyeon. Not only has she participated in a survival show, and understand what it's like to compete for your dream, she also has the skills and mindset to actually mentor the contestants. I love Yoon and StayC, but I really hate how she made the atmosphere so dark over sportsmanship. They should scrap the show and do it over with mentors who will actually MENTOR and not break everyones spirit.
I can't give much of an opinion because I'm not watching it, at the same time that I think mentors need to be tough, everything I see of Starlight is a big mess, even without watching everything that appears to me seems so wrong. Can someone help the poor boys???! Because they are clearly suffering with the treatment there It's everything wrong, I mean...what the hell are the producers thinking????!☠️
mentors need to be tough, NOT abusing their powers to bully the contestants mentally. Other survival shows have tough mentor too but THEY give them constructive criticism and teach them something. These judges just love being in the power to abuse these boys.
@@ImNOTtingting_MYthe criticism is needed, but she didn’t have to stop the rest of the contestants from clapping, they’re only supporting their teammates.

Why is STAYC a mentor for the show? I would think a mentor need to be at least 12 or 15 years experience.. if they need a younger mentor, at least 7 years experience?
@@sophieteinforma Bad take. There is no minimum amount of greater experience that qualifies someone to be a mentor. If you have one week’s more experience in a field, you can mentor someone. You’re just pulling those numbers out of thin air so you can jump on the Yoon criticism bandwagon.
@@TrevorSmith-o3k One who has a week experience can teach someone but to mentor 20+ people you gotta have enough experience and knowledge to guide them to their career and by enough it means minimum 7 years even that is still too young and on top of experience one needs the ability to teach these group of people properly. Maybe she does have enough experience but it would have been better if a judge have more than 6 or 7 years of experience.
Hate is to much but I agree that clapping wasn’t a bad thing. They wanted to show support and keep a healthy- friendly relationship with others and there is no problem in it.
Mentoring is teaching and leading. The clapping was a show of support to young, untrained contestants who had worked hard to learn choreography and lyrics. They did not do well, but those clapping knew they had improved and that it takes courage to perform. None of the mentors are mentoring. They are harsh, judgmental, and intentionally left 2 and all star contestants dancing to cause emotional distress. The producers have greatly underestimated the viewing audience. We want to see performances, not intentionally created stress and drama.
It's not that deep srsly. You think if real idols dance the way these people did people would clap?? They will get boo instead 😂.what she said could be the reason he tried hard and pulled off the dance instead of thinking high of himself just because their peers clap on their awful performance.
I feel like the producers tell mentors what to say, or at least strongly encourage them to judge harsh so a clip might go viral. They’re trying to recreate Lisa’s “why didn’t u smile?” moment on that Chinese show. So it’s all scripted and what the judges do are forced.
Every survival show have clip like this. First time I watch was creation of Izone. I remember Sakura (I like her at that time) getting tough comment by judge "you can't sing why you become center? The whole group seems like mess" something like that
I mean, the criticisms are understandable. Even if the performance was a mess it's normal to applaud after someone still had the courage of doing something. It's basic respect. Like i have to admit that the mentors are trying to look and sound so strict that it just becomes rude. Mentors are supposed to give actual constructive criticism, not bring down every single contestants for everything they do. That's just too much. In the situation they are in, it's completely normal to applause and at least encourage the other contestants. It definitely didn't deserve the energy it got from the mentors.
@@Yuu-d7b The clip is too short to know the full context, after Yoon said that she felt sorry towards the contestants and she was empathising with them
@@oncextokki she feels sorry but does that? This whole show has some serious mistreatment issues and not only yoon but the other mentors as well because the contestants are seriously going through it. This boys are literally being mentally and physically tortured by the producers and the mentors make it even worst by being super aggressive toward the contestants for CLAPPING?! The mentors are going way too far. And even if yoon feels bad she still acts wrongly towards them and pass a limit. Same for the other mentors. The contestants shouldn't be talked to like that. They are already going though hell they shouldn't be forbidden and reprimanded for showing support for others and trying to encourage one another.
@@lelebb4785 Are you being for real now? How delusional can you get?? Blame the producers of the show, not the judges. The mistreatment towards the contestants aren't because of the mentors but the freaking producers. Yoon just stated something as do every other judge/mentor. Why? Because that's her ROLE. She has to say realistic comments so the contestants don't get too ahead of themselves or think they did really well when they didn't. Also there have been tonnes of other survival shows where judges have said the same exact thing or even harsher comments - that's just what they're meant to do, so the contestants can improve. And I get that these contestants are being abused but Yoon hasn't done shit to them, the other judges said comments yet y'all aren't saying anything. It's always like this when it comes to female idols 🙄 The hate is seriously so forced, so don't even try.
@@oncextokki the judges also are to blame because their behavior is not ok. Yoon didn't "stated something". She literally got mad at the contestant because they dare applause out of respect their fellow contestants. And i don't recall any survival shows where mentors shamed people for applauding. Like seriously. The condition those contestants are put through is disgusting. And as mentors, their role is not only to teach and judge them, but also help them. How is this in ANY kind of way helpful. How is shaming them for supporting each other helpful? How is treating them as if they were in the army helpful? Also the mentors, including yoon give literally barely any actual constructively criticisms. Sire they should be realistic and say the truth. But there is a way of saying it. There is a way of actually helping people improve instead of just bringing them down. Because again, their job as mentors is to help them improve. Yoon is not acting as a good mentor and deserves to be called out for it. Does she deserves dea** threats? Absolutely not. But the mentors seriously need to tone it down because the way all of them act is just wrong. And stop with the "it's because she is a woman". The other mentors ar also getting called out like crazy. All the criticism is needed for the judges as for Daesung he barely even danced in his whole career compared to how hard and good the trainees danced And Daesung is judging them for not dancing good when they were good. Choi Young Jun and Lee Sung Gi are not Idols and don't know the actual life of idols but scolding the trainees harshly saying "with this skill u can never be an idol" is something not acceptable. Eunbi and Yoon are not much famous outside of Korea (as I never knew them) and they don't have much experience and as girls they never danced like male idols but judging the trainees saying "u can't be an idol if dance like this or sing like this". Wow. The amount of people attacking the mentors and defending the trainees is disappointing. Imagine the mentors didn't do their job and let trainees lacking in skill pass, who would you criticize next? I know the mentor's acted this way with the trainees best interest in mind. They gave them a wakeup call because this is an audition program. Thousands of trainees fight to even get onto an audition program and to see them acting like that while lacking skills is a slap in the face to any talented and hardworking trainee. I think what Yoon did was right. Because she seemed to make the contestants aware of what the kpop industry is really like. Many idols who don't perform well are not only criticized, but they also receive big insults that make them depressed. So I think Yoon wants to encourage The contestants should try harder to put on a good performance by realizing that if they still appear like that when they debut in the future, they will receive huge insults. I also understand that other contestants applaud their friends as a form of appreciation for having the courage to perform, but who would applaud an idol who actually performed poorly like that? Won't they only receive criticism and insults? So in my opinion, what Yoon did was right, namely by making them aware. If they could be a little better than that, maybe Yoon could tolerate it, but it was really bad, therefore Yoon really had to be firm.

@@VideosForYou90You’re missing the point. The person you were responding to , was talking about the mentors and producers abusing the boys from various incidents that already happened. Just yesterday , the boys were being forced to dance to a song FOR AN HOUR straight . Trainees obviously do dance for a long period of time , but the thing was they were not getting any breaks in between ..which is also the reason why some of the contestants literally were sent to the freaking hospital. When one of the constant spoke up , this one judge literally dismissed his concerns and was comparing it to a concert where you have to dance and sing for 3 hours or up. ( True , but breaks are given in between and idols don’t freaking end up in the hospital all the time). There is obviously many abuse cases for idols in the industry , and this is one of them. This clip over here , what Yoon did obviously doesn’t deserve relentless hate , but what she did was kinda unnecessary . In dance competitions, even when the children fall out of their turns on stage the judges and the audience still clap after their performance was over. Not because they thought it was good when it wasn’t , just out of basic respect. The judges obviously do cut points for that and that performance obviously won’t win , but they’ll still clap for the team after their performance since it’s a basic manner. Here , the performance was bad , even the other boys thought so as well. However they clapped cuz it was their fellow contestant and even if they did it wouldn’t have been an issue since it wouldn’t affect the voting or critique. Yoon obviously was trying to give constructive criticism but the comment she made came out as shallow . All survival shows , if you watched “youth with you” , “my teenage girl” boys planet and girls planet 999 you’ll see that the other contestants clap after a performance even if it’s bad out of BASIC RESPECT. The judges don’t clap but they won’t tell the contestants “ why are you clapping ?” or “do you guys think this a club?” . It’d be rude and after they finish clapping , the judges will give harsh and constructive critic. What Yoon and the other judge could’ve done was wait for the contestants to stop clapping and then give criticism like any other survival show judge , they didn’t need to make that comment. The hate Yoon is receiving smacks of misogyny, some of it internalized and coming from women who really like their delicate, young boys. This is proven by the fact that nobody cares that the male mentor agreed with her. The comment seems mild from the clip being shown and after a bad performance it probably made even more sense. Has nobody ever seen what Soyeon did as a mentor? They are cast to play roles in these shows, one of them being that of a strict teacher. These shows are scripted and they create drama through clever editing to grab eyeballs. But that's all too much and you'd rather hate on the successful, talented young woman, wouldn't you? Yes, Yoon is young but saying she has no experience is crazy. You semi-literate Neanderthals might not know them but Koreans love STAYC. They debuted from a small company and made it through sheer skill. If Yoon has advice for a trainee it's going to be valuable. I was wondering about this before, are Eric and Yoon really "advanced" enough to be mentors on a survival show? I mean, it always has been senior kpop idols with experience in more than one field (like Solji in Boys Planet for example) or who trained their "specialty" long or professionally before becoming an idol (like The8 from seventeen, he was a dance mentor in a Chinese survival show). This ! Like I understand people's anger about the show because it's clear (at least to me) that they are mistreating the contestant but Yoon asking trainees why they clapped at a disapointing performance isn't an issue. That reminded me of Soyeon telling the audience to vote for talented people, not because of visuals. Is it harsh to tell that in front of someone ? A bit yes, but you can get better at performing, especially when you're still a trainee. But debuting in a harsh industry with disapointing level of performing is going to exposed these trainees to harrassement.
@chlopee2220 Exactly, she's just doing her role as a judge/mentor,and if she's going to let them off then they'll continue with the same level of disappointment. Plus there's tonnes of other survival shows where judges have said similar or even harsher comments - it's normal.
@@chlopee2220 except that 1. Soyeon did it in a polite way and 2. The vote actually mattered because the audience was literally chosing who was surviving or not. Soyeon called put the audience because it wasn't fair taht less good performances were getting more vote than the good one just because of popularity and visual. The situation is nothing like this. So comparing them is pointless. Here they were just being respectful and clapped because that is basic etiquette. Basic respect.
Mentors are supposed to give actual constructive criticism, not bring down every single contestants for everything they do. That's just too much. @@jennie-c8l you are literally endorsing these disgusting behaviors. These mentors need to shut the fuck up and do their jobs right. This abuse has been going on for far too long. Sadly, only the quality of K-pop is improving and not the mentors. BTS or these boys don't deserve crappy mentors like this. Why are you speaking as if this behavior from mentors and fans should be normalised?
@@jennie-c8l No one would've cared if she was being harsh in her criticisms towards their dance, singing, stage presence, etc. However, she wasn't criticizing the trainee's performance. @@kpopnimation i get trying to be supportive, but she was asking why they were clapping for a terrible performance which is a valid question. if you actually watch the performance you can tell its bad. bringing up my last point, if youre watching an ice skating show, and the ice skater keeps messing up, why would you clap?

I feel people are ignoring things and just blindly hating and attacking the judges, yes, in a svs it’s got to be tough, it’s a competition you shouldn’t expect to see such a light fight but I highly doubt this is all just the reality of the judges, it feels scripted and it’s even worse if you think about evil editing
I don't think clapping after performance is bad tho. Idk why she act like it's bad.
Of course everyone goes after her when another dude literally backs her up.
So... It's basically the meta of nitpicking a part of the full context, right?
it was probably staged and scripted for her to do that y'all quick to judge
Why is she a mentor tho?
I understand..yon has had her share of bad vocals and she clapped and laughed like it was nothing. Why is she even a judge? I could see if she was an of idol, but out of all members of stayc it should’ve been Sieun. Lisa did the exact same thing when she was a mentor, but the difference is she gave constructive criticism and helped them improve. The show itself seems like it doesn’t it cares about the contestants improving.they just care about the ratings and views even if it means torturing the contestants. The only mentor on that show who was humane was Hui and even then I feel he could’ve stocked up for the contestants. I saw him fighting tears while watching them dance until they’re sick or on the verge of passing out. Toon doesn’t deserve death threats or any threats, however, all judges of this show deserve hate. The producers and directors need to be called out as well. I hope the contestants find their way and choose their health first.
Yoon is like the purest soul there is dawg. Crazy that people know how scripted these shows are yet still turn around and only attack the female mentor when the male mentor also criticized them.
not the commenters with 0 experience and 0 knowledge telling yoon shes unexperienced and unknowledgable... the call is coming from inside the house much?
GO ON EXPLAIN GEEZ does it really fucking matter if the "full" video if the problem is right here. Go on! Explain
starlight boys more like gaslight boys, whole show is a mess.
Yoon has been doing the best for the boys and the performance was awful why should they clap?
Youre dumb + insensitive + illiterate+ endorses bullying and hate positivity. Go eat yourself
@@NswerfromMixxtopia-ei4pd but at the same time, why does it matter that they clapped? As a mentor, she should’ve just focused on giving feedback and criticism to the ones who did poorly and not bother the other trainees.
Yoon did nothing wrong, everyone is too soft with them. If you want to make it in this industry this is the way to go. You won't survive if your mentors would keep babying you. And don't disrespect Yoon like that, she's been in the industry for 4 years now, she ain't a rookie anymore. And before that she almost trained 3 years. She's talented, she's skilled, she's been trained, she knows how the kpop industry works. Leave her tf alone, she doesn't deserve any hate.
The judges are just abusing their powers and they treat the contestants so bad. Not allowing them to clap hands, is very weird, they always clapped for others in other survival shows. No one is too sensitive, the kpop industry is harsh and the judges are the ONES who think they can treat the trainees badly because they have been treat badly. Yoon is my bias in Stayc but idk how to feel about her, it looks like she enjoys abusing her powers.
@@medeatheesolon Embarrassing comment. Using the word "abuse" for this ridiculous incident is disgusting. There are actual trainees and kpop idols who gets abused mentally and physically. Not allowing someone to clap for a performance that didn't meet the standards is NOT abuse. Shame on you. + How many times do survival shows have to happen until you kpop stans understand that most of it is WRITTEN and decided by the producers, everyone participating (including the judges) are just their puppets. There is a lot wrong with the kpop industry, yes - but there are REAL problems and this one ain't one of them.
I don’t think anyone can say Yoon is a bad person due to this short clip but it’s not exactly right either 🫤🫤
@@mishuramim2006you're blowing one stray comment way out of proportion. It's like she committed war crimes by telling them not to clap for a bad performance. And nobody is even mentioning the other judge who said the same thing. It's fun hating on women, isn't it?
@@TathD WTH? I literally mentioned the judge who said “you think this is a club “ ? And I’m a girl as well. It’s obviously not a whole crime , but it was unnecessary because the guys were just clapping out of respect , not because they actually like the performance. It’s literally a thing in survival shows and just any dance competition or singing stuff or anything to clap after a performance. So why ask why they’re clapping when literally everyone does it?💀💀
I didn’t say Yoon or the other guy was exactly a bad person , I literally mentioned she doesn’t deserve hate for the clip , just that it was obviously a little unnecessary to say that.
honestly, the guys who applauded were giggling during the performance, shady asf. yoon said that, apparently calling them out for applauding a bad performance, but regardless of whether it's just courtesy or whether you only do it when it's great, clapping to the performance you were mocking is terrible. she was right (and no, I don't stan stayc)
YOON IS LITERALLY THE MOST SWEETEST MENTOR EVER?
I stopped watching that show because it's so obvious how they're trying to attract audience through bad publicity. The narrative that they are trying to create is so toxic. This show is so scripted; this is worse than MNET's evil editing.
Hi Catto❤🥺
Aaaaaa my Kittie Vinil!! So many time without you! How are you? 😭😭🤚🩷🐈
But you'd rather scapegoat her for all of the show's failures, wouldn't you? As if she's done war crimes. It's ridiculous. She deserves better.
@@TathD people are annoyed because her comment was super unnecessary. As a mentor, she should feel free to criticize the trainee’s performances. If she gave harsh feedback for their dance, vocals, etc. that’s fine. That’s her job. However, jumping on the other trainees for clapping was not constructive.
Well I'm disappointed in yall people 🙄🙄🙄🙄👎👎
I was wondering about this before, are Eric and Yoon really "advanced" enough to be mentors on a survival show? I mean, it always has been senior kpop idols with experience in more than one field (like Solji in Boys Planet for example) or who trained their "specialty" long or professionally before becoming an idol (like The8 from seventeen, he was a dance mentor in a Chinese survival show). I like them both and I mean no hate, just that they don't feel like "authorities", mentors enough... I haven't seen the show fully yet, so maybe I am wrong. I'm just afraid that they may be "too green" in this field still, and won't be much help to the trainees, I don't know.
@CHERRYBEE_YT right. eric has 3 years from a decade of experience and yoon has almost half a decades worth...
@CHERRYBEE_YT I know that they’ve been idols for relatively long time and also trained before that, what I said is that feel bit conflicted on this matter and not that I am sure that they’re unsuitable. It’s not an attack on them

I think it's the mean girl tone she says it in is what is bothering people about this, we all have seen people like this irl
I swearrr people need to actually watch the show and get context instead of basing their entire opinions on clips on twitter, like instead of jumping to conclusions, why don’t you SEE why they do certain thing and then make your judgement. From what I’ve seen Yoon and Eric have given genuine advice and only spoke up when they see an issue especially compared to other, ruder judges, like dmpo 😒

Here wether the contestants clap or not doesn't affect in any kind of way the ranking.
Soyeon called put the audience because it wasn't fair taht less good performances were getting more vote than the good one just because of popularity and visual. The situation is nothing like this. So comparing them is pointless.
Here they were just being respectful and clapped because that is basic etiquette. Basic respect.
And when you see how horrendously the contestants here are treated, they have every right to try to support each other by clapping to at least bring a little strength through the hell they are going through right now. They, in no way, deserved to be talked that way flr clapping. They had every right to applause the other contestants.
She wasn't criticizing the trainee's performance though. She was getting on their case for simply clapping. The hate isn't justified and we can't judge her entire personality from it, but you have to admit she was in the wrong in this situation.
