1:30 the numbers 0451 is a refrence to the door/chest code for old looking glass studio games. I was used in thief, system shock, deus ex, bioshock, prey (2017) and many other 'immersive sim games'. Ususlly it is found as the first code you use in a game as somewhat of a statement of intent, giving somewhat of a hint to the experience you can expect. This little tradition caught on how-ever and can now be found in many diverse types of games ranging from small indies like gone home and firewatch all the way to massive bestselling AAA titles like Fallout 4. Hope you liked this little history lesson :)
Also I should add, Looking glass studios first used this as a refrence to Farenheit 451, a dystopian future where they (the state) burned all the books.

22:11 *gunfire in background* "Anything been happening around here?" "Not really. Let's get back to talking about all these great items I have for sale." lmao
Love your vids, man. But I think there's another explanation for that last one where the soldier was found locked in the shed. You say he was likely dragged into the shed and locked in after he was murdered. However, it didn't look like he was in the position of someone who had been dragged anywhere. It looked like he crawled to that spot. So I figure he was carrying his bag through the streets when somebody (likely looters) attacked him in an attempt to get his stuff. In an effort to get away, he ran into the shed and locked the door from the inside. He probably stayed against the door until his attacker gave up and left, then collapsed on the floor from the wounds he received during the scuffle. He then crawled further into the shed, looking for a better spot where he could try to recover or rest. This would explain his position, that the key was still on the desk upstairs, the lack of blood anywhere outside the door, as well as the fact that he doesn't appear to have been looted. Of course, without some official word, we're all free to contemplate the possibilities, which is probably where most of the fun really is. Imagination. Variety of interpretation. Either way, it's nifty knowing that such a small spot in the world with only a few minor details can bring out the detectives in us, seeking the real story. Keep on keeping on, bud, and we'll keep on watching.
really nice one. BTW I got a Wanted quest sending me to the Beacon hill apt in Diamond city, in the dugout inn. those minor "Wanted" quests that you can pick up are a great way to find secret locations.
10:25 the other leg is there- the other arm is the only thing missing.(The leg is under the shelve) Still loved the video though- your content is great as always.
Another great video Ox. You already covered my favorite unmarked place which was the pump house because I'm a big fan of revolvers. Definitely do this for fallout 3 and NV as they both have some interesting spots and it is more content to look forward to. I do have a question for you though. Do you ever plan to do a more comprehensive profile video for Danse? I re watched your video on him and it only covered the Blind betrayal quest and left some things unanswered. Just curious thanks for all the wonderful content.
I agree. F3 had one location over near Tenpenny Tower that was across a downed power transmission tower then down a manhole cover. Inside are some bear traps and a handy little hideaway with two doors that connect to the same room. You have to jump over some cabinets but, inside is a workbench, ham radio and plenty of shelving space. (but no bed) and one skeleton, probably prewar or early post war.
I've got an unmarked location. I don't remember whether you covered this, but just southeast of the Radiant Crest Shrine in Far Harbor (at the southern tip of the body of water and along the main road) is an unmarked gas station. In the back, there is a set of cellar doors leading to the secret headquarters of the people who were terrorizing the Vim! Factory just before the bombs dropped. You'll find some weapons and ammo on a table, some Vim Captain's Blend they were trying to reverse-engineer, and a terminal with a few story entries. Also, is it just me, or do those "creepy faces" bear more than a passing resemblance to the decorative Dwemer faces in Skyrim?
I covered that bunker in my video on Vim!: ruclips.net/video/YqqpOzD_04U/видео.html And also in my video on Beaver Creek Lanes: ruclips.net/video/54lAfBFP_m8/видео.html
you know, blood turns brown quickly after leaving the body. It would not be bright red 200 years latter. So he probably was a painter killed after getting red paint all over the floor.
No wait ive got it! not to long before you arrived a scavenger found the key and opened the door. The skeleton came to life and attacked them, badly injured they escaped and lock the door. You just unleashed the undead into the wasteland!
Hey ox. I've discovered a small but sad story. At the lake near vault 81. Then walk around the lake and you should find a house. There you will find the story. I don't know if you have done this one. But I'm just gonna point it out.
Also: That apartment building, is a very good sniper position for the raiders camped on the other side of the river! Especially if the range of your gun is far enough (it usually isn't!)
This is such a great idea for a series! My personal favorite unmarked location isn't terribly special: in the far upper left corner of the map, there's a small farm with a pond, a trader, and some cats. I'm fond of it because it was one of the first locations I found with an implied story. It's so remote, but the trader is surviving. It feels like a genuine piece of the rural Commonwealth.
Mohammed Mansour in America appartments are pretty big Japan Spain Brittan people live in much more confined areas. Mabey there's some American change in there somewhere
That emphasis on the first ”end-of-dungeon-steamer-trunk”. You know we like it Ox. ;) Also the ”rubble-ramp” and ”hole-in-the-wall”. Great video as always!
Love the vids Ox, keep doing what you do. I've already watched almost every one of your videos! Your voice is so soothing and unique. Its nice to just let your videos play in the background while playing fallout.
The hardware store, maybe the store manager was a secret Chinese maybe and the service man came in for stuff as the bombs falling and killed him and stored his body with his bag of loot(?)
I appreciate you for all of the time and energy you put into these videos. You're an amazing story teller and you make learning the back stories more fun. I'm rarely patient enough to take the time to look for holotapes and such but since finding your channel, I find myself looking for any backstory clues I can find.
Be warned, using random non-settlement locations as a player home can result in the loss of ALL items stored there when the spawn cycle resets various parts of the world. Oxhorn even recommended using a random encounter bunker as a player home. I found it in my game on the western-most side of the map next to a raider camp. I slept at the camp and the bunker entrance disappeared.
The word Apartment derives from the French appartement. This word was from the Italian appartimento, with the Italian root appartare, meaning "to separate, to distinguish, to set apart". Italy took this word from the Latin root partem (of the form ad + pars), which means "a piece, a part". Other english words from this root are part, partial, apart, and even parse (for splitting a file into its pieces). An appartement came to be called so because it has individual/private rooms for different people, on the same floor. These rooms were, of course, apart. In Britain, apartments are called "flats", as everyone knows. The word flat originated from the Germanic flet, which means "flat, level, ground". It was used to mean an inner room in a house. JRR Tolkien uses the word in his Fellowship of the Ring thus: “As he climbed slowly up Frodo passed many flets: some on one side, some on another, and some set about the bole of the tree, so that the ladder passed through them.” (Frodo in Lothlorien). This word traveled first to Scotland, where its meaning changed from an inner house room to a single storey house - no levels, just flat. Britain adopted this usage for what is a living complex - our colloquial flats or apartments. Britain still uses the word apartments when referring to an individual's suite or set of rooms in a large mansion or a stately residence. For example, Prince William and Kate Middleton live in their apartments in Kensington Palace. When the British left America, America used a lot of British words and apartments were still called flats, initially. The first apartment building in America came up in Boston in the mid 19th century, and were advertised as 'French flats'. This was around the same time that the appartement form of residence was getting hugely popular in Paris. Americans were influenced by the French culture at this point and started using the English equivalent for the French term, "apartment".
I heard oxhorn say number 9. Made me think of this..... I’ll have two number 9s, a number 9 large, a number 6 with extra dip, a number 7, two number 45s, one with cheese, and a large soda.
Yes please do more of these for all of the games! I found a soda shop in Fallout 3 that I had no idea was there recently and I hadn't found it earlier cause I was so focused on the quests like you said. It's amazing what you miss when you don't explore!
Actually I really like these minor/undiscovered location videos because by now they reveal the few parts of FO4 I haven't covered yet. I'd like to see more in the other FO games too. As for Apartments, I always thought they meant that lots of people lived apart yet whilst still being cramped together in the same small building.
One of the best things about Fallout is exploration and the joy and surprises of discovering new locations, secret locations, content to read, etc. I just love Falllout 4.
These locations were really interesting tbh I dont understand people who say theres nothing to do in fallout 4 when they can explore! PS if you find a messy stash of ammo, would you still call it a tidy stash?
I thought after 340+ hours on my main character I had found all the unmarked locations. Thanks to you I finally have the gainer. Keep up the good work Oxhorn.
Love all the Fallout stuff Oxhorn. A significant portion of my day involves watching/listening to your videos. So glad I don't have a data cap with my ISP.
I gave it to Valentine. The bullets are illuminated and the targets burn, so I know where he's shooting. Later I gave him Eddie's piece. It seemed like an appropriate gun for him to carry.
This is why I miss the explorer perk from Fo3 and FNV. I just love exploring the wasteland and visiting all the unmarked locations once I've gotten far enough into the main quest. Hope you make more of these!
Love your work, Oxhorn. Also, it could simply be that the back storage room was unlocked when the wounded serviceman sought shelter there and he locked it himself from the inside (which generally wouldn't need the key to do) before his wounds finally got to him.
I don't usually comment on your videos, as I watch them on my Xbox a lot, but I just wanted to thank you, as your videos are really cool for people who can't explore that area, or don't have the game, or just want to hear your opinion. Thank you for motivating me and humouring so many :)
Hey oxhorn you should do a video on that staff Sargent on the museum of freedom he was headed to Boylston street after his fusion core burned out that would be a great video
Much like taking on Ghouls, when fighting Mirelurks, try and VATS their legs. Either side will do. Once they're crippled, it makes fighting them far easier, and their movement animations are hilarious, to boot. Give it a whirl...You won't regret it.
Oxhorn, thanks for your videos. Because of them I finally bought Fallout 4 last month, GOTY edition. I've been putting in way too many hours enjoying all of it's glitchy goodness.
hey oxhorn you make my day everyday man and my roomates just moved out with the PS4 so now i cant play fallout 4 so i watch you and i really enjoy it thank for makeing my day thanks keep up the great work
Love these videos ox, only been to one of those locations you showcased and i did a full playthrough and spent over 400 hours in the game.. Really want to get back into playing again and spend more time exploring
Yes! This kinda of videos are great! It's always nice to hear about some small secret places and maybe a backstory to them. I think one of my favs is that water station close to the lake, showing level of contamination of water. I stumbled there once and can't really remember the name... And on the other hand I'd love to hear more about fallout New Vegas! There are some crazy places to find and that is without wild waistlande perk
The word “apartment" comes from the French word appartement and the Italian word appartimento, both of which mean “a separated place". Being that apartments are 'separate' areas of a larger building, it makes sense. Incidentally, its only called an apartment if the person living in it is a tenant. If the person living in it owns the apartment, it's known as a condominium. By the way, thanks for another cool video Mr Oxhorn. Had a tiring day at work and its nice to chillout with my feet up while discovering more about Fallout lore. Especially considering I'm too tired to bother playing. :)
I really needed to hear "end of dungeon steamer trunk" today, you keep it up ox.

JRR Tolkien uses the word in his Fellowship of the Ring thus:

This word traveled first to Scotland, where its meaning changed from an inner house room to a single storey house - no levels, just flat. Britain still uses the word apartments when referring to an individual's suite or set of rooms in a large mansion or a stately residence. This was around the same time that the appartement form of residence was getting hugely popular in Paris. Americans were influenced by the French culture at this point and started using the English equivalent for the French term, "apartment".

I don't usually comment on your videos, as I watch them on my Xbox a lot, but I just wanted to thank you, as your videos are really cool for people who can't explore that area, or don't have the game, or just want to hear your opinion. Thank you for motivating me and humouring so many :)
hey ox! can you do more 'horror' mods soon ? I looove them and with your voice.. it's just perfect :)
Already less than a minute in and learned something new. Thanks Ox!
Hey oxhorn you should do a video on that staff Sargent on the museum of freedom he was headed to Boylston street after his fusion core burned out that would be a great video
He was headed to find his sister
Shawn Edwards i agree
I love these locations!!! So many of them I've never found, even after 3 times playing through! Please keep them coming!
I really like your videos.
this video was so interesting! i love exploring all the tiny and overlooked details in Fallout 4
That joke was terrible and I love it. If I could sub again I would
Watching pain train in action makes me smile every time.

What was this for?
@@Il156. I have no clue
Much like taking on Ghouls, when fighting Mirelurks, try and VATS their legs. Either side will do. Once they're crippled, it makes fighting them far easier, and their movement animations are hilarious, to boot. Give it a whirl...You won't regret it.
Ayy another guide to laziness! Dankeschönnn
these vids may be old but god i love them so much if i had money i’d join in a heartbeat. truly the best asmr
I feel like Bethesda should’ve marked all places but that completely disregards the idea of exploration so I’m stuck on my opinion
Oxhorn, thanks for your videos. Because of them I finally bought Fallout 4 last month, GOTY edition.
I've been putting in way too many hours enjoying all of it's glitchy goodness.
Since when there are graveyards in the back of apartments?

YES. PLEASE keep more of this series coming!
Notification squad ready for duty
Aye, commandant!
Man your channel is like a giant history lesson. Love it.
Does anyone have any idea why its called "Vitale" pumphouse? Just out of curiosity...

Love these videos ox, only been to one of those locations you showcased and i did a full playthrough and spent over 400 hours in the game..
Really want to get back into playing again and spend more time exploring
Profile on Deacon? Please?
Oh yeah notification squad baby lmmfao
Jay Crist yeah!!!
Holy crap this video was awesome. I can't believe how many places you visited in this video. Wait every noon for your videos and never disappoint.
I love how you put a lot of work in your videos.😁 Keep up the great work
The word “apartment" comes from the French word appartement and the Italian word appartimento, both of which mean “a separated place".
Always excited when i see an Oxhorn video in my feed
When you mentioned ramps connecting buildings, the first thing i thought of was gunners
