- Fallout 4 is a game that offers the Sole Survivor a seemingly endless selection of tools for fighting off the challenges of the Commonwealth. While many of the items are more generic types we can acquire just about anywhere in the wasteland, some of Fallout 4’s most interesting items are the unique, more rare ones that unfortunately find themselves overlooked in many playthroughs. So in today’s video we’ll be showing some love to some of the game’s coolest tools of destruction you may not have heard about before as we dive into five more secret and unique weapons you may have missed in Fallout 4.

I farmed the National Guard training center for mine.
Does the creature actually make a difference? Like would the quality of the weapon change if it was a bloatfly, raider, or deathclaw?
I got the explosive combat shotgun off a bloatfly. I’ve only ever got one explosive pipe rifle, and that is the best gun in the game. Cheap mods, cheap ammo, devastating damage.
SvenTviking I think later in the game pipe weapons are more of a utility. Like freeze the dude with freezing pipe rifle and then burst him down with a furious automatic rifle.

I YOU TO BE A BORTHER OF STEEL LIKE YOU UNTIL I TOOK 1000 MINIGUN BULLET IN MY KNEE
I actually found an explosive combat shotgun really early in the game. It's even more OP than the explosive minigun, because each pellet explodes and does 15 damage, and there's 7 pellets, so if I'm able to get all 7 pellets on target, it does an additional 105 damage from the explosions alone for every single shot.
At one point i found an exploding double barrel shotgun. That thing was crazy
Bro same, had the never ending double barrel in 2 different playthroughs and now in my current 4th I also found an explosive combat shotgun. I just named it 'Biomatter Deconstuctor' at a workbench because it just shredds everything to pieces in seconds. Jesus christ that thing should'nt exist and yet I'm so happy it does. The double barrel is a joke compared to this monster.
Also: bonus points if you skilled automatic weapons.
You mean 8 shells
@@raidendragon8780 1 shell 7 pellets
its actually 8 pellets, and if you get the demolition perk to maximum the damage is doubled and the explosive radius becomes much larger, meaning 240 damage plus whatever damage its already doing and that 240 can hit other nearby enemies, making it quite possibly the best crowd control weapon in the game
The Neverending legendary effect is best on a laster musket. You get to crank limitless amounts of ammo into the thing and do ridiculous amounts of damage in singular shots.

One of my favourites has always been the explosive combat shotgun. It's got the same effect as the minigun mentioned here, but on each pellet of each shell fired, meaning it creates huge areas of effect wherever you fire it. I've turned rooms full of ghouls into paste in seconds, without having to reload. Though you then have to go through the process of sorting through the various remains to try and loot them.
I got the bleed effect on one of those

Never Ending has a lot of weird quirks to it.
On a Fat Man, you're looking at the same type of situation as you're seeing with the Double Barrel Shotgun, but even more ridiculously overpowered.
On a Gatling Laser, you get Aeternus.
On a Laser Musket, you get the ability to massively overcharge a shot and kill anything with one hit, with theoretically no upper limit to damage beyond how many times you're willing to crank it to load more cells in.
Methinks Bethesda didn't test out this effect on every weapon prior to putting it in the game.
You can get the Wazer Wifle from Shaun that's never ending too
Those are the 4 Weapons of total Destruction
It's a feature. Completely intended.

In regards to the Sergeant Ash flamethrower...
The legendary effect actually does have a related Easter egg too... one that only diehard fans of the TV series will know...
There was a robot build that was destroying ALL competition and even disabled 2 of the house robots... one of which was i believe was Sergeant Bash (I think it got knocked into the pit or stuck on a wall, i cant remember). In a later final, Sergeant bash used it's flame thrower (as it always does just for awe and show)... and it managed to melt a part of the contenders rotary parts... disabling it... yeah that's right... crippling the favourite to win contenders movement... it was completely immobile. The house robots then went to town on the contender with the audience and operators completely in shock. Having to watch the favourite to win slowly get torn apart. It was in one of the first series and what made Robot Wars a massive hit in the UK.
That means one of the Fallout Devs are a big fan of the series Robot Wars to of referenced that specific moment let alone the Robot... and that specific moment was nearly a couple of decades ago...
That's insanely cool. Nice insight bro

Nate: The explosive Minigun, when it comes to sheer rapid fire damage, has no equal!
Me: *Laughs in Spray n’ Pray*
Spray N Pray is my fave. Better reflex time, accuracy (especially scoped), and ammo conservation.
Explosive pipe rifle modded to pipe submachine gun. Virtually as powerful as spray and prey, but dirt cheap ammo.
SvenTviking:
Bruh imagine dual wielding those.
Spray N Pray is nice because it's easy to get early and lets you make use of all the perks. But there's simply no comparison to the mini gun in terms of damage output. You just walk around hip firing and delete everything before it can do anything.
I think the real downside of the exp minigun is that, where it's fun for minute, it makes the game incredibly repetitive very quickly. Everything dies so fast, and with barely any effort, that nothing remotely threatens you and every fight feels exactly the same.

@@Glitchy456 Bug? It's a natural way to play, just smithing iron daggers, buying loads of common or lower gems (filled of course) and using them to enchant the daggers, reselling those for massive profits. All I did was take my leveled enchanting & smithing, use them to improve my armor and then enchant said armor for reduced destruction cost. That done, I added strong enchantments to my armor and scimitars. They're way better than Bloodscythe and Soulrender, even making Windshear pale in comparison. I did nothing gamebreaking or scummy. I’m glad Fallout 4 is finally getting the recognition it deserves. Yeah it wasn’t exactly what we were wanting, but the things it does well, it does VERY WELL. The amount of random encounters and unique items/npcs is insane. Plus I’m a huge fan of power armor actually making you feel powerful and not just special armor that requires training.
Yup, initially I found power armor kinda weird and didn't really dig it, but well I play Survival difficulty which meant I spent A LOT of time dying and respawning wherever it was that I had last slept or where I last took a one-hour nap. Decided to give power armor a try... got used to it pretty damn fast.
Foolishly, my worry was fusion cores! "What, there's only fusion cores in these old generators that I find in the wasteland? So the cores run out FAST (it took me time to realize that sprinting dries out fusion cores WAY more quickly than talking/jogging) and there's a FINITE amount of them? Why should I get used to something useful that I'll only be able to use on rare occasions?
Well, I'm pleased to report that fusion cores are in fact infinite. Yes there are ones to be found in the wild, including one in the radiated spot in the mole rat den under Red Rocket as well as one in a chest by an experimental Sentrybot in a robotics scrapyard, as well as generally with 2 fusion cores you can take off of defeated Sentrybots, AND if you activate The Mechanist DLC you can find Mechanist robots with fusion cores on them from time to time, but also some shops often replenish their stock of fusion cores to sell every 3 days or whatever it is. Arturo in Diamond City and also any level 3 weapons shop that you establish in a settlement for 3000 caps. If you max out your buying potential, you can sell mostly-spent fusion cores for 160 caps (most money you can POSSIBLY get from selling fusion cores), and you can purchase fresh fusion cores for 240 caps which again at the best possible prices is basically 40 pre-war money.
Or, y'know, you can straight-up trade 3 fusion cores with 1-5 charge left in them (doesn't affect value) for 2 fusion cores with 100% charge left in them, no caps lost or received, pure trade. I almost NEVER let my fusion cores burn out completely. Once I spot it's low, generally 5 or less, I hope out, put in a fresh core, and I hope back in. All my companions carry 1-2 fresh cores, plus almost all my companions who CAN wear power armor are instructed to wear power armor and in their power armor I put a fusion core with about 60-88 charge left in it. They don't burn through fusion cores in their power armor so that charge will remain so that if I end up in an emergency where all spare fusion cores are spent I can get my companion to hop out, replace their mostly-intact fusion core with one I'll later sell that only has about 1-5 charge left in it, and then hopefully manage to use that final core to get to safety where I can re-stock. But I haven't been in that position in a LONG time, I'm quite good at keeping sufficiently stocked, plus before long I get the 'nuclear physicist' perk which at level 3 DOUBLES how long your fusion core lasts whether it be in power armor or in a laser Gatling. Add that repair bobble head on top of the Corvega plant and that's another 10% on top. So while a standard fusion core can earn you 500 shots from a laser gatling, with those perks and the bobblehead you can get like 1100 shots. Pretty sweet!
But dang, sprinting drains those cores so damn fast, I basically just hit my G key to have my character jog automatically and that's how I tend to travel long distances until I get vertibird grenades. That and The Institute's teleportation are basically the only ways to fast travel Otherwise, you're going by foot, well besides the train car that takes you to Nuka World or the boat that takes you to Far Harbor but that's not 'fast-travel' in the traditional sense. That's just the means by which you go to those locales. 'Fast-travel' in the videogame world tends to mean 'getting to a different part of a map instantly or at least faster than normal.' With vertibirds, you pop a signal grenade, wait for the bird to land, hop on, open your map, select where you want to go, and the pilot will take you there pretty quickly. With The Institute, at ANY point while in the Commonwealth you can be teleported there, and then you can teleport back to the Commonwealth and you'll be spawned in front of the CIT ruins which is pretty DANG close to the middle of the map, and VERY close to the Hangman Alley settlement as well as Diamond City. Quite convenient, really! If you wanted to save some time on your flight, if perhaps you're in Sanctuary and you want to head down to South Boston or The Castle or something, pop into The Institute and pop out again and you just cut your travel time in half instantly.
... it's really about time I went and spoke to Nick. Feels like I saved him at like level 20-30 or so, and now I'm at level 70+ lol I took out Kellogg and basically just lost myself to helping/building settlements and doing random little quests. Killed the man who shot my wife and kidnapped my kid after he told me that Shaun is in the Institute... then poof, disappeared. At this point, Valentine might think that I actually lost the fight and died lmao

The Explosive Combat Shotgun, my favorite weapon from Fallout 4, although it has teeth and is just as likely to bite the shooter as the shootee. I liked to call it a meat grinder as it just tore through stuff.
Chris Mckay I had one AHHHHHH death claw hunting in my tux
Imagine a Never-Ending Explosive Minigun.
The carnage that one could unleash with such a weapon....
Imagine how much you would have to pay to get consistent ammo
You can console command that into existence

@@lostgamer2271 I wouldn't know, I played 76 for an hour and hated it. I'm talking about 4
I got a N/E double barrel in one of my earliest playthroughs. Then I started using the mods. With the wacky weapon mod you can pick 2 legendary effects and I ran N/E with Furious or Explosive. I immediately regretted explosive without a long barrel though, and had to be extremely careful about where, how and who to use it on 😂 But still an incredibly satisfying gun.
True Story:
-my character's level is 54
-clearing a hospital infested with Feral ghouls
-managed to kill a Legendary Feral Ghoul Reaver
- really not that challenging
- managed to get a Explosive Minigun
-*mental orgasm*
im lvl 47 and im have all dlc
My true story:
- Lvl 53 Institute Character
- Kill Legendary BoS member in Power Armour
- Explosive. Gatling. Laser.
- Was happy for next few days
Now invest points in heavy Gunner and demolition expert. Mines doing a Max of 87 dam. Per shot with just these two perks maxed.
My play through was so easy thanks to: two shot combat rifle (found it, didnt buy it), explosive combat shotgun, and instigating hunting rifle. My luck was so good.
@Tristan Morgan im buyed all workshop and automatron far harbor nuka world and my ak 47 per bullet damage is 91

The biochemistry degree on my table wants me to say that acid is a very LOW pH, not high. That being said, the Fallout nerd inside of me loves these videos!
The Ripper was my most favorite weapon in FO4 hands down.
It's not as good as it's Fallout 3/NV counterpart, though.
My favorite is the disciple blade from nuka world. I use it on my ninja build
I feel like a furious minigun, meaning a minigun with the legendary effect of growing damage the more you shoot, would be better than an explosive minigun
It isn't tho. There is no enemy in this game that would survive the explosive minigun (with perks mind you) long enough so that the furious minigun could catch up.
It is
I have both and the furious is nowhere near as good. In order for your damage to stack with furious it isnt "the more rounds you shoot" its the more CONSECUTIVE hits on target. The miniguns inaccuracy and wide spread make it basically impossible to get more than a few consecutive hits on target making that effect nearly useless.
@@dontfallyoumighthurtyourse4694 fair point, didnt think of that, plus the explosive can damage multiple if they're close
The Harvester reminds me of a pipe rifle I found... it had the bleeding effect, so I slapped a rapid auto receiver on it and took the fight to swan at level 15. Killed in one 48 round mag!
Gotta love those Bleed stacks. 😊
I will never unsee the gaps in the corners of the ripper's chain texture.
Also, I remember encountering a super mutant with a staggering garling laser. Arguably the worst several minutes of my playthrough.
Also, when I was playing around with a mod that lets me choose weapons' legendary effects, Never-Ending Laser Musket... No matter how you handle it, it shoots ALL OF YOUR CELLS. If you have enough, it just becomes the Spartan Laser.
Nate keeps Bethesda alive in more ways the company can imagine.
"Hire Nate! Before it's too late.."
ahh man, I remember getting a never ending super shotgun at level 10-15 on my first playthrough. had to delete that save but it was the best weapon i've ever had.
same
Why did you delete the save?
imagine being a feral ghoul and you see a vault dweller in full power armor thats fully feuled, AND has the coconut flamethrower charging at you full speed
Explosive combat shotgun with the right perks is still and will always be the most OP combo in Fallout 4.
On my least favorite play through, my institute build, I ended up with a wounding ripper and an explosive minigun (in my opinion the two most op weapons in the game). Had to upgrade strength, get all the heavy gunner perk levels, all the big leagues levels, and all 3 blacksmith levels so I could make the extended modification for the ripper. They’re so good I had to rebuild my entire character around them
8:03 I love how the guy you just sprayed with literal acid is looking at you like “dude wtf”

One of my favourite weapons is Spray and Pray. Absolute killer with automatic weapon damage perk and explosive damage perk. Also love the Big Boy with the Quantum Nuke mod.
I got the never ending double barrel in level 40+ in hard difficulty and got another when I was level 200+, i gotta be honest it is fun af blasting nonstop, it would be even epic if a perk like the "And Stay Back" from New Vegas will knock enemies down. And combine with the nonstop legendary, it a game breaking weapon and a hilarious weapon too.
you can get the knock down with an NE combat shotgun if you get the sniper perk and put a scope on it. it might not have the same fire rate, but it's close enough
I remember Gopher getting an explosive 10mm pistol on his FO4 playthrough. With the automatic mod it was super effective and easier to lug around than a mini gun on survival mode. Just be careful not to blow yourself up if enemies get too close... that damage adds up fast.
Gopher. I'm assuming that's another player you are with
@@raidendragon8780 Gopher is one of the biggest Bethesda RUclipsrs. Has lots of tutorials on modding.

Spray n Pray a named submachine gun you can buy from merchants, also has explosive legendary. With a large drum magazine it is a good investment early on in the game since it does wonders against large groups of enemies. And im certain the explosive damage from the rounds get influenced by the demolition man perk.
This is my main weapon and has been for a long time. Too easy lol
I mean, you might aswell change the name of "The Harvester" to "Windshear"
Lol right. I like the concept, but I enchanted a pair of Scimitars that now do fire/health drain and frost/magica damage. They badly outclass it.
Imo the best gun I've ever used was a wounding rapid automatic pipe pistol. Each round causes damage over time which chews through the toughest enemies due to its rate of fire. I could take down vertebirds in seconds with some of the cheapest ammo in the game
Found a wounding minigun, a few seconds of firing and I can just wait a few seconds as the poison damage from each bullet kills them.
Did you know that in the Nuka world DLC you can actually turn the thirst zapper into a Nuka cola firing weapon no joke once you get the power back on and go to the bottling plant. There is a lock door where if you open it and go down the elevator and then go into a certain room. I don’t remember which room there will be blueprints for project cobalt which turns out was to make the thirst zapper, shoot new nuka-Cola you can mod it to regular new nuka-Cola, which the description says that it melts skin I don’t know I haven’t modded the thirst zapper. Mont it to take nuka-cherry creates an explosion. And modding it to take nuka-cola quantum it creates a nuclear explosion. Your welcome :)
I prefer your videos over others Idk if it's your voice or the vibe of you have but its nice

Do you know how many coca cola substitutes i have gone through watching your videos? ALOT!!! Great video btw!
@DJ Kombatbunni oh cool thanks!
@DJ Kombatbunni cool!.and all i have to do is play fallout 4 and i know the recipes!
I farmed the explosive mini gun not knowing there was such a thing and just happened to be playing my first heavy weapons character. Max heavy and demolition and this thing literally one shots (burst) anything (including yourself if you accidentally stand too close to a railing)
I remember when I found that shotty and my father was slightly upset about it
(8:40) Ah! The weapon I always rename "Boomstick".
Ash vs evil dead 😂😂
I think the harvester was a great weapon and if you put points in the big league perk, it’s makes the harvester more powerful and if you make blade extended, it makes the target bleed as well
The only two guaranteed never endings I know of are the eternus, which you covered, and the laser rifle "limitless potential". And both are very strong
Wassup Nate! Your Fallout videos are hella interesting, thanks for the hard work
Regarding the Sgt. Ash/Bash thing, I'm pretty sure a burning robot would often end up as a mobility kill, since electrical bits like motors, cables, and the controlling electronics were the most vulnerable bits to fire, so the unlucky bot just kinda stops moving IIRC.
The NE DF double barrel was the first legendary drop i got in my first PC playthrough of fallout 4
MarineC1 dude same! Either the first or second one for me, but I remember realizing how op it was
The Explosive Legendary variant is fantastic on most of the in-game guns though. I can see Never-Ending Legendary Effect being fantastic for people playing on Survival mode, however.
so basically you got the equivalent of the doom shotgun, but with no cooldown
