    I love segway products and just bought the GT1 3mos ago when it went 50% off, Now the GT2 Megatron is on sale and I just ordered one. I am now looking for a nice ear plug as a preparation to when my wife finds out.

    If this scooter could achieve twice its range, I would buy it hands down. Its the only sore spot it really has, everything else is really good.

    Great review, thank you! It’s out of my financial range, but it’s nice to see what an elite scooter is like. I have the Segway MaxG2, which I like a lot.

    this dude is what i expect electric scooter riders to be like.
    "it would be nice if they had an led bar over here, um so that would be really cool"
    no it wouldnt. youre an adult and you dont need lights all over your shit. one of the reasons i got this scooter was actually because it DIDNT have a bunch of tacky lights all over it. i got over my childish lightshow addiction when i built my second pc. no leds.

    The best about this scooter It has roomy platform for a lady in front of me to ride it. It can carry 150kg. That's cool feature. But I heard controllers 1-2 controller a year can be burnt which is acceptable for such high class machine. Thanks 😊 Alex

    I have a GT1, main issue is the control pannel is horrible if you're wearing gloves or going decent speeds and need to switch modes, unless I look down I dont know if I switched correctly or hell maybe its in park mode now. And you may accidentally turn on cruse control and not realize it. Makes an accident more than likely. But if it had better range it wouldnt be so bad, as they are, both Gt1 and GT2 they're not really a daily commuter but rather a luxury device. As much as I enjoy the look of it, its not half as useful as I hoped. And considering the weight, the charger should be put inside the scooter already so you dont have to lug around a heavy charging cable. A fun ride, but not something I would buy again.

      I have a gt2 and it's Very easy to not look down and change the dials from eco to sport or race.. and Cruise control is literally hit with one button.. If you're trying to put it in one motor mode then It's best to stop to do so..
      Don't knock a machine just because you don't know how to drive it properly.. It's probably one of the best scooters that've ever been made tbh..

    • @landpet
      @landpet  5 месяцев назад

      I don’t have any issues personally with the gt2, I do occasionally get it in park mode lol but there’s a shortcut to put it back in the standard mode. I just don’t like you can’t mount a phone holder but aside from that and the fact it weighs a ton, it’s a fantastic scooter.

    Other than a security cable, how does one secure this Segway when you zip off to the market? Is the power button connected to an app or can anyone just walk up and turn it on? And if you don't mind sharing, how heavy are you?

    I've had to have one replaced already, failed control unit 15 days of ownership and 300kms. i bought from a good store so they replaced it with brand new unit for me after making me wait 10 days to see if repair could be done, they could not do repair because segway has firmware on lockdown and therefor no one can repair. my second scooter ive had for 1500 kms, and its been great until the front suspension bolts sheered off... i only use on bike lanes, never off road and never driven crazy hard... i dunno, my ownership run has been very mediocre at best lmao

    I hope you answer my question, I just got a GT2 Megatron 2 days ago, brand new (Culver City) and everything works when I first rode it with about 50% battery out of the box. Then after I fully charged it, somehow, there’s no Eco and Sport mode on single motor. Walk and Race still works. And with dual motors everything works…Is this normal? Has this happened to you? Thanks in advance….I’m gonna get in touch with Segway first thing Monday.

    • @alexrudner5548
      @alexrudner5548 2 месяца назад

      Thanks for letting know. It has 95 error codes so they control their scooter and your pocket. You cannot repair. They block to 25kmh
      Controller may be burnt 1-2 a year. Watch video about it. I wanted to buy but now I will think many times.

    What was your odometer reading? I know we're 10 months since this video was uploaded, but may you please ballpark how far you've rode the GT2?

    • @landpet
      @landpet  2 месяца назад

      I honestly can't remember what it was, this is not my exclusive scooter. I have a bunch of scooters that I ride.
      This is an extreme ballpark, I would say probably somewhere around 200 miles or less.
      I would check now but I no longer have this scooter. There's only so much space, so I'm constantly going through scooters/ebikes.

    Do you think is that possible to undo that ? Thank you!

      I think it's a safety feature. Hitting the red button takes it back to the previous mode automatically from what I remember. I don't remember their being an option to disable that.

      Try this. Switch to sport or race mode then switch off the scooter. Then switch on. Maybe this helps. Today I read from mechanic from scooter repair shop Segway gt1 and 2 has 95 error codes so they control their scooter and your pocket. I don't want to buy it now. In Australia gt1 now AU2000$

    Not impressed with the performance. I can easily get to 40 MPH on my unmodified Phantom v2 on flat ground, faster downhill, and riding it like that still takes me about 25 miles. And it cost half as much. Maybe I'm looking for a Wolf King GT. Great video though, thanks for keeping us informed!

    I am not really impressed especially knowing I own it's closest competitor, which is the Nami Klima. I guess the only thing this GT2 has over the Klima is build quality. For about $1300 less you can get the same performance and with it comes a huge community for support and aftermarket options.
