  • @RadiantFreeEnergyResearch
    @RadiantFreeEnergyResearch Год назад +2

    I completely agree with you regarding the range. before i looked at the specifications of the battery, i was sure segway would have placed one of the largest capacity batteries for the price range of the scooter. i was really surprised to learn that the segway gt2 only has a 1512 watt hour battery (which requires 7 to 8 hours to charge at 4 amps, with no options/choices for faster charging). for a few dollars less, the wolf king gtr has a 2400 + watt hour battery (which can charge at ten amps = 3.5 hours) which is significantly more range at the same speed, i mean, if traveling the same speed.
    after studying the rion scooters, i realized how important higher voltage is for batteries and controllers and motors and overall responsiveness and efficiency. this is another improvement i think segway can add to future design models, higher voltage, larger capacity battery. and yes, i am willing to pay extra for this.
    the segway gt2 is a really great scooter. i am really looking forward to see what segway comes out with next! if segway can make something that competes on all levels with the rion scooters, and softer suspension on the front, similar to the wolf king gtr, that would be really great!
    when riding scooters, i sometimes do not see cement pushed up by tree roots. i hit such a bump (while riding the segway gt2 at 46mph) in the road, approximately three inches tall, and both of my hands came off of the grips. i wasn’t able to hold onto the grips. it was very jarring. i hit the same bump on my wolf king gt pro and the front suspension absorbed the bump and my hands didn’t come even close to coming off of the grips.
    this made me think that the segway gt2 front suspension may be better suited for track conditions.
    but still very good suspension. just not great on sudden steep/sharp bumps at 46 miles per hour.
    the wolf king gtr and the segway gt2 are presently my two absolute favorite scooters.
    the electrical and mechanical engineering on both scooters is next level. i mean really, these scooters are literally from the distant future!

    I have a GT2, I love it! I’m 120kg. My commute is only 4 miles so the range doesn’t bother me. It takes me about 15 minutes to get to work here in Chicago vs 20-30 depending on traffic. That ride takes about 10% of the battery. It’s built like a tank though. Such a solid clean machine. I’m very happy with it.

    When i work on the Max scooters for people i ALWAYS have to air up the tires.. People complain that they don't get the range they want and i find they are running at 10-20 psi.. They never check their tires.. I have done before and after tests with the Segway Max G30p and gained 15% more range from that alone.. Just food for thought.. Please for the love of god... Keep your tires pumped up.

      I hate to tell you this, but you should ignore the recommended tire pressures in the manual and read the side of the tires.. tire manufacturers know better than segway will.

    • @Napster60
      @Napster60 10 месяцев назад

      @@antisfavorite7250
      The GT2 gets a similar benefit in range but at the cost of tire wear.. the power and torque of the GT2 is so high that there is very rapid tire wear to the center of the tire if you run above 50 psi. The 45 recommended pressure keeps a better contact patch to the road that results in better tire wear so you don't have to replace them as often.
      So unlike the max I don't recommend going above 50 psi unless it's for a specific ride where you want more range or you avoid the performance modes.
      The repair instructions for putting on a new tire want you to completely disconnect the motor wheel from the controller. Not only is this a very in-depth tear down but it involves removing the sealant that makes the controller water proof in order to disconnect the motor..
      To avoid this and keep your scooter as new as possible for as long as possible. Prioritize the lifespan of your tires.

Coming from a nine bot max. I’m not even brave enough to drive in sport mode yet… But in drive mode is good enough for me. • @isellcrack3537
    @isellcrack3537 2 года назад

    Can you do a range test only in Eco mode? I`m just curious tho. No matter what I have or want to do I`ll never need more than 30km of range where I live and there are very few places I`ll be able to ride it as fast as you did. Although the specs are a bit disappointing on their own in my case they are more than sufficient so at least I won`t have to make any compromises.

    • @landpet
      @landpet  2 года назад +2

      I don't plan on doing the range test in Eco mode, the simple answer is to add 3 to 5 miles of range for Eco. I typically do the range test in the fastest mode and do some hills to simulate a worse case scenario but even in that case, range will vary quite a bit for different riders as I'm on the heavier side and I did a lot of accelerations, if I hit mostly green lights then that would increase my range as well. I think in most cases, most people can squeeze out 30km of range from this thing.

One thing that's not really obvious in this video is that this scooter is insanely stable when you're going fast, much more so than my Apollo Phantom. This is mainly the result of it's insanely heavy weight, yes you can get a 1500 to 2K scooter to go this fast but it's not going to feel as stable as this when you're moving at these speeds.

      Dude you have no idea how nice this scooter is. It’s honestly amazing you really can’t imagine until you use it. Hands down the highest quality scooter I’ve ever rode. You can definitely get up to 43-45mph which is as fast as I ever wanted to go on any scooter no matter the top speed.
      It is on ANOTHER LEVEL when it comes to stable riding at high speeds. On the scooters that can go faster, you almost wouldn’t even want to reach their stop speeds because they don’t feel as safe as this scooter at the same speeds. This scooter makes the higher speeds more useable.
      But again…can’t stress enough how good the actual ride quality and hardware is. Videos honestly don’t do it justice. It feels more like a standing motorcycle rather than a e scooter.
      Also top speed aside, this is the fastest scooter I’ve ever rode in terms of accelerating and doing it STABLE hands down!
