Ah, it's for a darkroom. At first I thought it was for viewing slides. The explanations/demonstrations at the end are very helpful when you restore something that is not familiar to some of us.
Magnifique travail!!!
Another beautiful result. With useful commentary from Veronika. Yes, I have used something similar although not as sophisticated, as an amateur. Thank you both for your very interesting videos.
Nice work. brings back memories when developing negative BW films and then printing them, dark room, red light, vinager smell...happy self-developed photos at the end
Well done Radek, a marvellous transformation from an unusable object into a fully functional darkroom light. I worked as a portrait photographer (until my accident) with digital cameras but I had to learn to use film cameras and darkrooms. We had to take pictures then develop and print them to pass our examinations but I've never seen a darkroom light with four different colours. It was nice to see Veronica too. I hope you are both well, and your children. Ahoj, Nick
Me neither, although I did find exchangeable colour filters when an old photo store closed down in the early 2000s. I seem to remember that olive green was for early colour print papers but would expose modern RA-4 paper despite the light being so dim you could barely see anything. B&W printing was fun, colour not so much, I gave up after a few tries. I still have a complete darkroom kit for B&W 35 mm developing and printing but no space to set it up. Tinned chemistry almost as old as I am and some paper that's probably twice as old. My old secondary school still has a fully functional darkroom and offers courses, that's what got me into photo developing when I was a teenager, at a time when most people just dropped off their films at the nearest supermarket.
Hi Nick, I also saw this light for the first time. I renovated it for my niece, they found it fired and they want to have it as a lamp. Also as they collect various old items for me, I am happy for that :) Great greetings and hugs for all of you. Radek and Veronica
A beautiful restoration Radek. .. and thank you Veronika for explaining what the item was because I had no clue... I have never seen one before. You guys find the neatest stuff. Please keep being you... ♥️❣️❤️
Wonderful restoration as always! Really like the old style of that dark room lamp. I had a darkroom in the mid 70's - only B&W was practical at that time - I loved using one of my parent's old "brownie" cameras and my own 35mm to take pictures and develop them. It was a great hobby! 👍
Oh I love it !! I really like how you explain the functions of each item you restore !! You both did another AMAZING job !! I get so excited when you post a new video !! I love your work !! 👍👍
Beautiful restoration, I really like it. When it comes to the plastic parts I'd probably put a bit of fire/flame to them so they get shiny again... kind of like when someone restores plastic that's dull.

You restore not only by hands but with your soul that's why always u bring dead stuff to life .. congrats & sorry i am long time not here but i am back :))
As you probably have guessed I’m of an age with many of the older objects you refurbish. I remember one of these type lights in my brother’s then my Mother’s photo lab in the basement in the 1950’s. Of course it was an old, second hand piece then.😄👵🏻
Yes, I can remember developing color film and making prints in the bathroom of our two room apartment in the late '60's. The red light was so dim you could barely see your hand in front of your face. Most of it was done by feel! Unicolor made a kit of tools and chemistries that were fairly inexpensive.

Radek, the depth of your knowledge and detail of your restoration is amazing. Thanks to Veronica for her explanation and demonstration. I had suspected the two dark glass sheets may have been colors. Did you consider the color of the replacement LED bulb, specifically a warm yellow rather than a cooler white? Wishing you both another blessed week, gentle weather and restful evenings. Peace friends.
Yes, each of the filters was made of two glass plates and stained inside. Since the light will be used as a lamp, I used a new energy-saving light bulb. But a good idea to use a light bulb with changing colors without filters.
