Amazing! I have believed exactly what you are saying here. I have been plagued with back problems and abdominal bulging. As an adult I worked moving heavy objects and freight. The doctors just always told me I didn't have a hernia. I have had this bulging since I was a skinny child. No matter how many crunches or abdominal exercises I did, it never improved. Now I focus on exercises for my transverse and obliques and my back pain is lessening. This information is music to my ears. Thank you!
Wow! Iifted weights through my 20's and into my 30's.Plus I did a lot of running and core work. Then I started driving vans and trucks for a living in my mid 30's but still did a fair bit of lifting. I am 59 yo now and people think I am fat because if this Diastis Recti, my stomach is rock hard but I have put on two shirt sizes the last 5 years. Crazy stuff!
I am 37 years old and am an overweight male. I noticed this bulge in my stomach about a year ago when I started working out to get back in shape. The diastasis doesn't hurt, but it does get bigger and more pronounced when I'm working out. How do you recommend repairing it?
Through my younger years, I used to do a lot of Sit Ups. Have had this condition for years, but have never been treated or looked at my my PCP... Now thinking they should have sent me to a Physical Therapist... I need to follow this site and work at reducing this condition... IT is not a Hernia, although I have developed an Umbilical Hernia..
thankyou. I had surgery for inguinal hernia to the right side and After surgery,After, diastasis recti to abdominal right internal oblique. It was a present. thankyou for all your clips, very helpful for me and surely for everyone
At last an explanation to make me understand the large lump protruding above my navel why it may have been caused and information about how to deal with it, thank you so much. I was an on call engineer and drove hundreds of miles every week for years, I was also doing core exercises to reduce my bloated stomach which I now understand made it worse. I have now retired (68 yrs young) and play 4 rounds of golf every week, walking no buggy and I could not understand why I still had this large bloated stomach unfortunately I am in the UK but I will now seek the correct help.
Hi Robert. I'm so happy you have found us as a resource. We actually help international clients all the time. We also offer eSessions with clients and would be happy to do an eSession before the course to answer questions and guide you in the best way to proceed or after you've started a course to help guide you through your rehab process Please feel free to let us know if you have any additional questions.
I’ve had a bloated stomach for years. I had a fundoplication when I was younger. It involves cutting through the abdomen for acid reflux. My stomach has just been worse since. I’m always bloated. It’s worse when I’ve eaten but I do have a noticeable bloated stomach. Could this be the cause? No one has ever given me an answer.
Hi. Thank you so much for sharing your experience with us. Any kind of abdominal surgery can leave you more vulnerable to a Diastasis Recti. We have another video that teaches you how to assess yourself for one here: ruclips.net/video/VlPD_Y8uQqU/видео.html Let us know if this was helpful and don't hesitate to reach out if you have additional questions.
I had a keyhole decompression and laminectomy in May 2019 I had severe facet arthritis, it has enabled me to keep walking, but my back is very stiff and have chronic pain, and since the op my abdomen has bulged out very big. Diastasis Recti diagnosed but they think not hernia. I am 68, obese and would like to solve the diastasis non surgically

what does it mean if ive been for a scan confirmed no hernia and 1 finger disastis recti gap only, but following training and sitting down I feel some discomfort? and a very stressful period for me many thanks
The reality is, even if you don't have a significant diastasis, you can still have functional core weakness which can result in the symptoms you're describing. I would recommend looking into our Core Foundations for Men program here: online.thetummyteam.com/core-foundations-for-men

She has a calming voice, but wish she had more visuals to see as she spoke in the background.
Thank you for your feedback. We will keep that in mind for our next set of videos.

what a waste of time !!!!!!!!
Is there any information we didn't cover in this video that you're looking for?
This is too long, and wordy for men, and men want to hear from men, and need a more visual presentation.
Speak for yourself. I enjoyed the thoroughness & want to hear from an expert, be they man or woman.
