With the latest software update for the zūmo® XT2 all-terrain motorcycle navigator and the Tread® app, available exclusively on zūmo XT2, riders can now discover the best places to explore from the Tread app community.
Our cartography team looked at all the places in the world our zūmo user’s ride. They looked at popularity, curviness, and hilliness to find the best places in the world to ride a motorcycle. We now have a database that is shown as a map layer in the Tread app, or they can look through a library of the greatest rides.

Should mention that you need 2 apps, for some silly reason, to access this feature in this app. Or do I need the zumo too? Because I was trying to look to decide if I was going to buy the Zumo
How are great rides created and added to the map?

How much did you pay for your XT2? I’m trying to look for *any* kind of discount, and I’m not finding a price under $600.
@@Yowzoe Garmin is firm on their price, I do not recommend this product unless you are an engineer. Otherwise you will be buying a headache!

@@Yowzoe what I don't get is why people keep saying this is great!..... We bought a product that's complicated to operate and on top, they load a 10 or 15 year map so they can sell you the updates!
There is no road data for Guatemala, El Salvador, Nicaragua and Honduras. I’ve tried every which way to get support from Garmin to no avail. Why would these countries be virtually blank in the app? This weirdness renders using Tread with my XT2 useless.

Will the great rides feature be also available on the garmin Tread ?
It already is, that's what he showed you. Hit the "layers" icon which looks like sheets of paper separated, then select "Great Rides". You may have to zoom out to find your nearest.
Mine doesn't have the Great Rides layer.
@@sdavey10that's not the Tread, it's the Zumo XT2. The Tread App is what he's demonstrating.
@@brentswartzentruber5565 I've just checked, to be sure I haven't got it wrong, and there's definitely a great rides layer in my Tread app. I have an Android phone, the layers icon is under the magnifying (search) symbol/icon.
My Tread app (Android may '24) doesn't have the Great Rides layer. What gives?

Sorry to hear that you are having difficulties with the Great Rides feature on the Tread app. Great Rides will only be available if your Zumo XT2 has been paired to the phone/tablet that you are using with the Tread app. If you are paired with the Zumo XT2 and still not seeing the Great Rides layer, please reach out to our Product Support team at 800-800-1020 or support.garmin.com. They will be happy to troubleshoot and assist.
@@GarminRetailTraining I have the Tread Base Edition. I guess it doesn't work with that? If not, why not?
@@GarminRetailTraining why would you share a phone number if the phone will never be answered???. Garmin creates these devised to keep engineers entertained. We purchased a GPS or a problem to be resolved. If you want updated maps, you have to buy them from Garmin or use other applications to import them..... This is to me still a very expensive toy, on endless development
I just came out of a very long trip between Switzerland and Greece and return through Italy, where I used my xt2 and the great rides to choose my itinerary. It was awesome! But some “great rides” in Italy were not so great: crowded highways with trucks and so on… How is it possible to rate them so badly they do not appear in this category for future users? Thanks

Good video; but very boring and zero excitement from the presenter. It doesn't inspire me to continue watching the video.
The presenter does the job very well. He's not doing the video to excite you.
