This is actually Joe Buck at his finest. He understands the issue completely, and articulated it well. He called Pete out.

Among the four major sports in the United States, baseball is arguably the most mentally challenging and demanding. The mental demands stem largely from the significant amount of downtime compared to other sports, providing players ample opportunity to think, which can often lead to tension, pressure, and anxiety. Baseball is a thinking man's game that requires patience, preparation, and the ability to adjust on the fly. As Hall-of-Famer Yogi Berra famously said, 'Baseball is 90% mental. The other half is physical. How on earth is Shohei Ohtani able to accomplish so much that required his full attention and time to GAMBLE.

No he didn’t hurt anyone, but the bottom line is he broke the rules as they stood in that time. That’s it…break the rules and there are consequences. Same thing with Reggie Bush, taking money was against the rules in that era of college football.
Doesn’t matter what the rules are now, it matters what they were when broken.

Like he said, there aren't many saints in the HOF... Wife beaters racists and steroid abusers.....Ty Cobb was human garbage, filth, Whitey Ford LITERALLY ADMITTED to cheating and he's in the HOF. Comisky is a HOFer lmao, benching his players so they wouldn't get bonuses lmao.... It's a bad joke

I agree with Rose , He admits he was wrong , Shohei is he going to admit it ? He knew you were not allowed to bet in California, and he knew money was going out of his bank. The get away driver gets into trouble even tho he wasn';t inside the bank robbing it. He hasn't been in the states for afew days.

Pete is the man! And he's correct, betting on a game is none of your business and has no victims, so stop thinking about him and think on yourself.

I don't care if Pete bet on baseball but he probably should not have been betting on his own team. I think he should be in the hall of fame after he dies. That's fair.
