Today , the pitchers are treated like babies . There are hardly any complete games anymore ! Maloney , Koufax , Gibson , Marichal , Drysdale , Spahn , Bunning , Jenkins , Law , Friend and Seaver would throw several complete games every year .

(1) nobody will ever win 25 or more games in a season (2) baseball will be lucky to see one 20 game winner per season perhaps every other season. (3) 200 innings pitched will be a rarity (4) complete games extremely rare let alone shutouts by one pitcher. No hitters will always be combined as well. (5) outside of Verlander, Kershaw & Scherzer who are all extreme long shots, YOU WILL NEVER SEE A 300 GAME WINNER EVER AGAIN! (6) I highly doubt we will see maybe a handful of 200 game Winners in the next 100 years. (7) probably most you don’t really care? To me it’s a shame. It’s semantics but explain why if young arms are being protected why are their so many surgeries & injuries. Taught to throw harder & not taught finesse. All the goodness is stripped away. To think most critics believe Greg Maddux wouldn’t be a success in today’s game? Probably the biggest study of the game. So sad, so brutally sad.
