I'm so glad the field of psychology has caught up to the practical needs and issues of abused and neglected adult children. Ross, your work has been tremendously helpful for me and even influenced my most recent official therapist as recent as 4 years ago, when her initial reaction was to invalidate my reality like so many others in the field have done. It's still difficult for us to find any therapist well versed in the effects of C-PTSD, and the trauma of narcissistic abuse, but thanks to you and others who are leading the way and so generously sharing your work, there is hope and a path to healing. Thank you for introducing your guest, Robert Jackman, I will be looking into his process. Sincerely, a fellow childhood trauma survivor. 💜💚💛

Boundaries say, _"I feel bad when you do it"_ might work with normal people. With narcs, who don't care about my feelings, only real boundaries work: _"I don't like what you do. If you do it again, I'll terminate completely communication with you. And i mean it."_ And if they do it again (usually they think I bluff), I really terminating the communication. This is how to make the boundary works with narc.
    37:23 This is gold motivation!

This book is absolutely wonderful. Working through it was the final key to enable my healing from long term depression after years of therapy and work.

So, this can also happen with adults who were sexually abused when a teen. I know someone who is an addict who uses and has sex with just any gender and then goes to church like he knows he did something sinful, but has been doing this for 3 decades. He once stated he doesn't connect with anyone in a personal level. I know his past has so much to do with it and so he continues his destructive path. It's sad!
I forgot to add he's been in therapy all those yrs as well.

Thank you for introducing us to Dr Jackman and sharing this information, I will be ordering these books. Can this book/workbook be used without meditation but through mindfulness?
