Lalo Salamanca is another one of Hector Salamanca's nephews from Better Call Saul, and though he doesn't look as menacing as his cousins Tuco as well as Marco and Leonel, he is much more dangerous. From his smiling face to his racing mind, Lalo Salamanca is by far the smartest and most socially aware Salamanca making him Gus Fring's largest threat. Though Lalo wasn't introduced till very late into the Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul Franchise, his mischievous yet genius character has quickly made him a classic character. This video explores Lalo Salamanca's history to figure out his role within the Juarez cartel and how much Lalo Salamanca may have been worth at the end of Better Call Saul.

We need a spin off "keeping up with the salamancas"
They could have a head turtle explosive contest
I would love a lalo spin off more then the others
@@yahawashiisking144 more than a mike, gustavo or don eladio spinoff?
@@Diego-ck2pn I personally, yes
@@Diego-ck2pn I would love to see Lalo and Tuco interact. Like doing some cruel or action filled shit together.
I love how all the Salamanca have this aura. They are demoniacal figures, all of them, but different in each way. Tuco is the incarnation of rage and chaos, a fiend of destruction. The twins are the mute, unstoppable force of retribution and vengeance and Lalo is the Devil in disguise, the smiling evil, a true Mephistopheles.
hector?
@@elipav484 He is Satan, this was established in Ace Ventura: Pet Detective.
@@Dundun4793 underrated comment 😂🔥🔥
@@Dundun4793 😂 I literally lol’d at your comment
How about Abuelita? She surely has the most menacing aura.
You can have another series only for Lalo Salamanca
I agree
Lalo es Malo!
As a mexican, Im happy that the Salamancas has, at least, ONE mexican
Well it's Tony Dalton, but he's as mexican as we will get lol
Never forget Matando Cabos!
Depends on how you Define Mexican Raymond crus(Tuco)Tony Dalton(lalo) And Gabriel Nunez(Joaquin) Are Mexican American. Mark Magolis(Hector) is Jewish American The Cousins are Honduran and Abuelita potrayed by Miriam Colon is Puerto Rican.
I think OP made that comment based on the fact that Dalton speaks Spanish with a Mexican accent, unlike the rest of the cast
@@allemon93 Also he is Televisa's owner in La dictadura perfecta.
The twins do speak good spanish to thought?
Whenever they introduced lalo I honestly didn’t know what to think but now I find myself rooting for him
He's easily my fav. Always so happy and seems to love his job.
So true. He's hard not to root for. Every scene man.
Iza-niii what job?
@@rabiedoof Being a Cartel Leader :D
Iza-niii hahaha , his job is saying south wall 🤣 but i love lalo thought BCS became cool since he enjoyed the series it wasn’t complet at first
Lalo used the alias Jorge de Guzman, and had an extensive tunnel under his house. El Chappo, the infamous cartel boss known for his tunnels is also J. Guzman.
I never put that together, but you're right. That's going to be one of the things people will think "how did I not see that coming?" When they rewatch.
JeffTheHokie so what?
@@garynubipwek3178 its an easter egg!
El Chapo 'guzman' first work was under the man named 'hector palma'
Then later founded his own cartel.
May be lalo is not real salamanca, and will dissasociate himself with salamancas after revenge to find his own cartel, anyway after death of heisenberg and with downfall of all the cartel there is vaccum which if he survives, can fill
But he didn’t escape jail in a tunnel
I always love how Lalo handles things in the cartel and on the street
Really? Show me!!
@@SuperRodrigocamara haha exactly😂
The dude is so smooth
Lalo is the most compelling, charismatic, and entertaining character in the show.
Easy, Lalo is the only character that speaks proper SPANISH
U sure about that?
What is proper Spanish?
So true, lol. Also Don Eladio speaks Spanish, but Gus and Hector... gimme a break
Isn't the actor that plays gus actually from a Latino nation tho?

Best AMC character hands down.
Yeah, I love the portrayal!
Hes my favorite so far and i think hes gonna steal the finale
Lalo is so smooth. You can’t help but like him
He is absolutely the most compelling character. He reminds me of Johnson from Chochsky's revenge. Where could you watch that? Oh yeah! It's on my youtube channel! That's right! Yes you should go check it out!
I think the entire show & casting is superb, Mike was always my fave (& Jimmy) but Lalo really played it like he was truly affiliated with the cartel. A great great show

Loll that scream was so satisfying
What was he about to say?
@@stevenwall2010 I'm pretty sure it was just supposed to be a scream bc he knew he was about to get blown up.
Werner Ziegler. ZIIIIIEEEEEEEEGLER.
Zzzzzzziiiiiiieeeeeeegler
Do you know how many Werner Ziegler’s there are in Germany?
You know anyone called Michael? Miiichael
He's a gringo... in the game
I'd have a hard time thinking he's only worth 33 mill
Haha!
family is all,200 mil belongs to all salamamcas, all are worth 200 mil
It might just be his attitide but *SPOILER* when he gets arrested and bail is set at 7 million , he seems completly content spending that money. That's nearly 1/4th of his total net worth according to this video. I am pretty sure he is worth much much more than the author illustrates
@@michaelm4550 That's just his attitude. 1/4 of your net-worth in exchange for, quite literally, getting away with murder? That's not that bad a deal. His delivery of 'I can do that' screams 'rough, but not the end of the world.'
Plus the man is cool as ice, I can definitely see the numbers stated to be pretty on point.
Bail isn't really spent money though, right? Just have to show it and leave it in holding for a period of time, I thought
To be honest it's amazing for me that on desert with Walter and Jessie Saul mentioned Lalo there - i would never though that we would see him all this years later.
The cousins were well cast. All of them had an edge of crazy from the out there crazy of Tuco to the robotic focused crazy of the twins to Lalo's just under the surface dangerous crazy. Definitely high points in both series.
Lalo is a real Salamanca. Rewatch as many times as you need. He makes it obvious
don bosa feels so useless... it's like he's just there to make gus and salamancas cooperate... im sure he has more that the show didnt cover...
Just based on the way he presents himself and his charm and intelligence, I imagine in the starting up days, he hustled just as much. Would be so cool to see a early on version of this time line lol. Focus on the cartel
Probably political fixer too. Bolsa means bag so he's probably the bagman. It also is used for the stock market. Bolsa de valores. I think it's a nickname.
EDIT: As someone else ( Luis Vargas) has said below it's definitely a nod of respect to the Sopranos and Juan Bolsa is obviously the Spanish of Johnny Sack.
His name is bolsa btw
His brother is police chief . He has connections . He has friends at court
*Don Juan/Señor Bolsa.
Abuelita, the real mastermind behind all the salamancas.
Biznatch
How did Hector survive the gunshot wound from Tony Montana ?
How did Don Eladio?
you are right .....
Dudes immortal
That thing coming out of Don Eladio’s mouth looks like a fucking leezard
Lalo is my favorite character thank you for this even though it has almost been a year since you released this
I’ve been waiting for someone to finally explain the Salamanca family tree because the Salamanca family has always been something that always caught my interest in both show thanks for giving a great video on a great character
Hector Salamanca has entered the chat room!!!
DING DING DING DING🛎🛎🛎
Haha!
Good answer Carl
Got banned for spamming.
I was shocked to see this channel only has 5k subs. This channel will be huge one day
Fun fact: in English, Salamanca means "cave, grotto, or other dark place" like a grave for instance. A pretty fitting name for a family of death dealers.
Do we ever see all the cousins in one scene Tuco Lalo and the twins. Too much maniacal power there. All so different and so deadly. Lalo definitely the leader
Sadly we don’t, that would have been one of the most interesting scenes, just to see how they would act around each other. Definitely Lalo would be the leader, I can see him butting heads with Tuco, but ultimately tuco would accept him being the leader because of Lalo’s charisma and I’m pretty sure he’s the oldest cousin
Lalo and kim are my favorite characters. I hope they survive in the final season.
Kim & Lalo will survive & run off together. That's why you don't see them in "Breaking Bad".
@@raydavison4288 lmfao what a ridicolous little fantasy you have there... Kim is most likely to be killed off, we dont know about Lalo but idk how u put those two together xd
@@Ajesen My comment was meant to be "ridiculous". I'm sorry that you didn't catch the joke. 😥
@@Ajesen If you were even semi-literate, you would have noticed that I was joking. Go away. Shoo.
Dunno what'll happen to Kim, but Lalo will certainly dead.
Hector doesn’t feel entitled as much as he feels that he and his family have more than earned their stripes over the years. Hector himself did 17 years in the can, and we have nothing that indicates that Bolsa or Eladio ever did.
When is that said
@@ipstealthy1378 Gomey mentions it in BB either right before or right after they try to get Hector to rat out Jesse
He did 20 fuckin' years
@@fatshady8627 And for what? To protect the likes of Juan Bolsa and Eladio?
In my book, you get points for staying out of the can!
so great!!! thank you so much
Damn the way you explain the numbers makes my head hurt here lol but very interesting points you make on these videos in the world of Breaking Bad and Better Call Saul.
"Who really is Lalo Salamanca" - for purposes of this video, we will assume he is real Salamanca
your channel is so underrated keep up the good work!
This guy better be Kraven in any MCU feature film
Over Jason Momoa? Not a chance.
Well he is now a villain in Hawkeye series

I watch the series for this guy
I love how he enjoys life along with his job

Excellent as usual. Can you do an analysis of how much money and valuables were in that cartel warehouse.
Awesome channel man keep it up
This guy takes some pretty big leaps to work out his math.

He’s become one of my favorites.
With that craziness. He's definitely a Salamanca.
Cartels don't just have one revenue scheme. They have many.
So its much more than the said video .

Lalo also plays a very important role in the movie "La dictadura perfecta" (The Perfect Dictatorship) as the powerful chairman of a TV channel that even controls the President of México... it would be good to know how much is worth it there ; )
This is really interesting. Sure your channel will be huge.
It sure is interesting. It kind of reminds me of my RUclips channel. Oh wait! I have an idea! Why don't you check out my youtube channel! Yeah that's a great idea! Why didn't I think of that before?
Louis Barnes dumba$$
Anyone notice something?
Lalo used name Jorge de Guzman
And He had Tunnel in his house
He worked for Hector
And Now El Chapo.
His last name is J. Guzman
He have Multiple tunnels and he used one tunnel to escape police raid.
He worked with hector Palma
And chapo real life their are cousin 69 both are bald And Somewhat badass
Cousin 69 = breaking bad Cousin
Lalo knows about the Santiago incident. Either Lalo was a young lieutenant who participated in the incident or more likely his father X Salamanca was there along with Hector in the fight. Lalo's father probably survived the encounter as he is not so bitter about the outcome. Yet Hector is really not happy about that history in South America and uses is as a way to discredit Gus whenever he can. It is possible that Gonzo is married to Tuco's sister. Joachin Salamanca seems like a underling with no rank as he seems to be posted as a bodyguard/enforcer when killed by Jesse in the gunfight. Gaff is also possibly an in-law as he is trusted to monitor the family business in New Mexico once Tuco is killed.
With all this information will Vince Gilligan decide on another prequel answering the Salamanca questions with a new cast of young actors?
Nah man. I think things need closure at some point. Even if there are unanswered questions.
Can't help but side with Lalo.
Interesting analysis.
Thanks man!
I want to see Lalo meeting uncle jack
That would be epic.
Note that mules are private drivers, while Gus's distributors are his employees.
Lalo, secret final boss.
Lalo is smoother than a cashmere codpiece
I just realized that he reminds me a lot of Eddie Guerrero’s wrestling character who i watched a lot as a kid, charming bandit man.
Lying cheating and stealing until the end
Judging from the car though, Lalo would have dramatically upgraded the business...
Lalo is my first movie crush since I was a kid. I thought I'm too old to have crushes 😂
Interesting video as always man
Sorry for the late appearence i have some things to do
And also Congrats for 5k lets see that number goes to 10k.
Thank you so much man! I always appreciate your support!
Wow this video was posted ad the same time as I finisht the s5
Great Character and played well by the actor!!
Good video
Hi, I wish you good luck with your great channel. Can you tell me what microphone you use, please?
Thanks for being a Lalo detective. I hadn’t considered the Salamanca family tree. :)
Ahhhh ok, so that’s how the family tree goes. 1:26 Thanks! I always thought Tuco was Hectors son
Ever since Saul blurted out his name in Breaking Bad, I was waiting for Lalo to come in Better Call Saul.
Lalo should star in a cooking show called, "Better Call Salsa"
🤣
Definitely would watch a series based on their rise
You know at the end Lalo forced assasin(the last alive one) to say his employer the job is done
(but gus heard the voice of gunshot when the gunmen came in and killed juan bolsa so he was certain about bolsa)
So gus thinks lalo is dead and he either warns don eladio
(And it's impossible because if it happened eladio would lose his respect to lalo and also he would investigate it himself and link this betrayal to fring and prepare for a war with gus)
So he either went undercover and started to a peaceful life or he tried to deal with gus without eladio knowing(I explained the reason)and got captured or killed
I think Lalo truly desired to be a civil servant
I think your numbers are off Lalo didn't even flinch at the 7 million dollar bail
Lalo should have his own show “Soprano” style.
The Salamancas never seem to have their shit together when it comes to smuggling. The way that Gus does.
We need a series called "El Juego" spanish for "the game" since those involved in the cartel are mentioned as "being in the game" and telling the story on how the cartel in the Breaking Bad universe started
lalo is my favorite character in the show
I come from germany (sorry for bad english) and im interested to make the german subtitles for the videos because were watching your videos also in germany and there are realy cool👍
No worries, we only have like 13 years of English lectures in school. -.-

Haha, definitely need to work on the speaking side of things.
He must be a real Salamanca- there's no way Hector would bestow such favor on someone who wasn't family.
I thought there was a call out to Lalo in Breaking Bad somewhere, so he is still alive right? Isn't that the reason Saul Goodman went into hiding because he heard Lalo was back? (Cinnabon hiding)
How did you estimate Lalo was killed in 2008? Was it mentioned somewhere?
I had a hard time trying to understand half of these numbers but still nice video. La familia es to do
Glad you liked it nonetheless!

Abuelita must have given birth young to be Lalo's grandmother.
Maybe the amount seems low because that's how much is left after being laundered
Damn, Salamancas fell from grace
8:55 gus spanish be like
One of the greatest actors from the bb universe
can u do DEA hank schrader plz
Will there be season 6?
There's a family photograph that shows Lalo and the Salamanca brother's when they were children together with Hector
Screw Saul, I’m ready for Better Call Lalo
Lalo is basically the cousins mouth.
I think we'll get more backstory as to what happened between Krazy 8 and tuco in season 6
After what Lalo did in Jimmy's house, he's cemented himself as top 3 BB and BCS villains
