In most cases, if you choose to fight with video, you waste more time than it would have taken to complete a video only go around. I love when there is a good video team. I let them take lead for some stuff like the groom getting dressed, that helps me out, I help them out by letting them get their stuff since it is easy for me to shoot without being in the way (normally, we know some rooms lol) and it saves all of us portrait time later! :)
I’ve shot second with two videographers and I’ve shot video (not at weddings) so I get what they are looking for. I’ll be shooting with a brand new videographer this winter, and I definitely want to meet before the wedding day.
We've dabbled in weddings, but holy smokes they can be just way too stressful for our liking haha but the few times we've done them, we learned a lot and have implemented all those experiences in our work we do now.
Always take the "high road" and "being a team player"...great advice, as always! Ty, I almost didn't recognize you in the wedding day photos...I've never seen you without your backwards cap! ; - )Thank you guys!
Awesome info … !! GRACE rules! Your clients leave the wedding with an impression of you before they have seen the 1st image. Ty Question: As a videographer, how do you deal with camera flash? Especially something you want to slo-mo. Can be at the least frustrating, if not totally ruin the clip.
The 1st time I photographed a wedding that also had a videographer, it was a Spanish speaking family and the videographer didn't speak a lick of Spanish, when he realized I was bilingual he said," ok so you can translate, and you know what is going on, I'm just going to be glued to your hip for the rest of the day" and he was, I had to edit him out of some mirror shots😂 he was very nice, but it was a challenge for me because I had never worked with a videographer before so it was a learning experience
To say details aren’t important to you….. hmm … lot of ppl spend months preparing details.. and hoping someone would notice the efforts that was put behind it. Not only caught on photo, but to be shown through the video, which brings so much memories back. But that’s just me lol
Most videographers I've work with have not been a problem but I've ran into two nut cases just screwballs. I had ran into videographers that made a mistake and got in the way that did not know any better.
you guys are awesome!
Thanks for watching!

When there are "Audio moments" do you switch into silent shutter mode with the R6?
I am almost always in silent shutter! It is so quiet!
What do you do if you think video is also doing photography to add to their portfolio...? I’ve run into this a lot lately and it’s really frustrating.
I have never experienced this.
