I've developed a system for how I do this on every single shoot and I call it the 3 P's of Posing: Power, Praise & Precision!

  • @BellaJohnsonx

    Confidence comes from experience. Like I've seen nervous photographers... it comes down to experience. The amount of weddings under your belt will grow your confidence. Every wedding teaches you something to carry onto the next.

    Love the praise tactic, but I do have a question... I know for me personally I want my photographer to say, hey your hair is a mess, or help me fix it.
    I was so disappointed in a session I had done simply because my hair looked horrible but it was a fixable thing.
    So how can you approach THAT with clients?

    • @ChristinaChasse
      @ChristinaChasse 4 года назад +7

      That's so hard because sometimes we don't always know what the client considers a "mess" compared to what we do. One time I asked a client if she wanted to fix her part and she looked at me and said, "that's how I always wear it". I was so embarrassed! Lol. Now I bring a compact mirror and before each shoot, I ask each client to check their teeth (for food or lipstick) and do any last minute touch ups they would like before we begin.

    • @KatelynJames
      @KatelynJames  4 года назад +10

      I always say something like “oh let me do a little hair fluff for you!!” And try to keep even the negative stuff positive because I dont want her to feel self conscious. I’ll also say “this is so normal! I’m constantly fluffing and fixing hair for clients!”

      Hi Morgan! Thanks for the feedback. I think it's important to know that this content was blogged YEARS ago... long before it was ever a small part of the KJ Posing Course. I've shared content for free since 2008 and we love being able to give small glimpses into our courses for students who are desperate to learn but cannot afford a large scale course like you purchased. This 18min video doesn't come close to comparing to the 8+ hours of training and 19 lessons that you received. If you have further questions about how we educate for free for those that can't afford higher-end education, feel free to email me! katelyn@katelynjames.com
