  • Please enjoy a tour of the museum room at the Golden Glow of Christmas Past 2022 Convention held in Chicago in August 2022. All items in this video are at least 40 years old! Click on "Show More" below.
    Are you interested in antique and vintage Christmas decorations and the history behind our Christmas decorations and traditions? If yes, you may be interested in the Golden Glow of Christmas Past, a wonderful non-profit organization focusing on the education and history of antique and vintage Christmas ornaments, lights and decorations. Please visit www.goldenglow.org and its Facebook page for more information.
    About the music: In the past, I have set these videos to classic vintage Christmas music. Although these musical works are copyrighted, previosly they were allowed because my channel is not monetized and the copyright holders had evidently elected to collect any ad revenue rather than block. Unfortunately, for reasons unknown to me, this is no longer the case and the copyright owners blocked the video I intended to post. So, I have had to reset this to licensed music which I have purchased or is made available from RUclips (see attribution below.) Unfortunately, the vintage nature of the subject matter is lost but nothing I can do about it.

    The video is in HD and best watched on a HD monitor or TV.

    Absolutely dazzling!! I am also an AVID collector of vintage Christmas and found myself pausing frequently to take a pic with my phone and zoom in. How wonderful to see all of these treasures in one place. Oh, to be a curator here, what a dream! Thank you so much for putting this all together and sharing it with us. Your work is truly appreciated! 🎄🎅🎁

    I loved looking at all the vintage Christmas decorations! We used to have a little snowman that smoked, not sure if I saw that one or not. And I also love the music!

    What a delight to watch - I love collecting vintage holiday items, but Christmas is my favourite, especially my few cherished Rudolph items. It was such a treat to see the vast amount of goodies from wonderful times past. Thank you so much! Wish they could have a show like this up here in Canada.

      Yeah, I took video of pretty much everything and you are correct, no kugels! The museum room was a bit smaller this year.

    Where is this located? I am amazed they have the all of the pieces in mint condition. They don't make decorations like those anymore.

    Who made the lawn Santa’s shown at the 19 minute mark?

    • @Ho-Ho-Boo
      @Ho-Ho-Boo  6 месяцев назад

      It's a Polk Santa. I believe from about 1964 to 1968 Polk Brothers, a popular local appliance and furniture store chain in the Chicago area, gave away the 5” tall illuminated Jolly Santas with every major purchase.

    Why do you just show them visually with Christmas music tracks playing? For a blind person that can be quite annoying.

    • @Ho-Ho-Boo
      @Ho-Ho-Boo  Год назад

      Annoying? Kind of like you?

    • @thetoycollectorofseville6428
      @thetoycollectorofseville6428 Год назад +1

      @@Ho-Ho-Boo Sorry I didn't mean it like that. I just think it is a little bit annoying when people just show pictures of things in a video with a sometimes overused RUclips music track. But in this case, none of the music is that overused. But I kind of wish I could hear you describe things or at least I could hear any musical Christmas items playing music in this video.
