Great videos man. Very informative. With all of the additional detail that you include we, the audience, can trust that you are knowledgeable in your repairs.
Looking forward to your catch can video, and would love to hear your thought on using one in the winter in freezing temps. Have heard that can be a problem with lines freezing up.
So I've changed my front crank seal twice now, and both times it leaks......then I found out, these seals are PTFE seals and need to be installed DRY and left for 4 hours. Third attempt dry and no more leak. Lesson learned, read the instructions from the seal manufacturer. It actually states, any lubricant will cause it to leak almost immediately. DO NOT PUT LUBRICANT ON THE SEAL!!
I never knew it had instructions for dry install, I’ve never had one leak after install and rarely have seen one leak at all. It does have a special tool to insert inside the seal and bolt it down with the crankshaft bolt to set it in flush without crushing the seal lip though.
@@NaptownTuner It's strange, contrary to most other seals. I stumbled on the instructions when I was throwing out the box for the lower timing cover from ELRING. Then I started searching and all the manufacturers say the same thing, must be installed DRY and left for 4 hours. I was so frustrated lol
I really like all your videos you upload here, but how about a nice detachable head cam or head mount? then your both hands could be free. :) Not trying to be smart, just a recommendation :)
A damaged seal of crankshaft on A 1.8 TFSi Gen 3 can cause a Leak in Intake System?I have a Error P 2279 Leak in Intake system and and also P0068 Throtle Position Corelation? It seems i have also a big oil lakage from that areea of the seal.
Did the seal you replaced fix an oil leak that was throwing oil ? I have been attempting to fix an oil leak on my 2013 B8 … I have replaced the valve cover gasket , vacuum pump , fuel pump . The next thing I want to get into fixing is the turbo oil lines .. would u have any suggestions?
@NaptownTuner When swapping transmissions in b8 a4s, do you need to get transmission coded by ODIS? Is the tcm affected by the component protection? Please respond
hey i have a 2.0t , everytime i’m at low speed in reverse or rarely in drive my car stutters like it’s going to die out or even sometimes it does. i changed my coils and spark plugs. didn’t change a thing

Can’t wait for your new videos, especially smoke testing, keep up the amazing work
Not sure what they cost in your neck of the woods but a lower timing cover where I’m at is around 400.00 for a new one
Thanks for the video. It's a great help. I need to change my crankshaft pulley.
