Hi!! They are doing really well! The one issue I’ve had the last couple of seasons is spider mites on them. So I have been trying to stay on top of spraying them preventatively.
I have to ask, what size container is this? I just ordered a limelight, but ordering a container online is confusing. Not sure what size i should order. THANKS!!
Hi Jeanette, that’s so exciting!! 😍 Have you grown limelight’s before? I know ordering containers online is hard sometimes, especially when you have to visualize it. I always like to use a tape measure in the area they’re going to be in so it makes a little bit more sense. So these containers are 29” across and 28.75” tall. Let me know if you have questions. 💞
Can I ask where you got the containers. I got 2 standards today also. Love the look of your pot. I have grown Limelight for yrs but never in pots. Thank you
Deprise, absolutely. I would definitely pot it a size up. Use Espoma Organic Bio-tone Starter fertilizer, I have a link for it in the description box or you can get it at your local nursery. Make sure you water everyday, maybe twice a day if you see the soil is drying out quickly. They are super thirsty plants. I have a few that are still in their nursery containers and they have to be watered 2 maybe 3 times a day if I can get to them. The containers are also smallish, so it drys out quicker. Let me know if you have more questions. 😘
Coast to Coast Home and Garden thank you so much!! The video and you commenting has been so helpful!! I live in South Georgia and it’s too hot to plant it in the ground right now! I was so worried that I couldn’t plant it in a large planter, and I am so glad to know I can!! Would Lowe’s or Home Depot have that fertilizer? Is there any other tips you have for caring for it and has your started blooming yet?😃
Please mention where you bought your container. I planted one in a similar fiber concrete container 20” by 20”. Only one I could find but bigger might be better.
It’s a vanilla strawberry and was planted for one year but hung in my walkway and needed height. The height is now perfect and I just hope it will live well. I used the root starter suggested. I live in central CT.
Absolutely! I actually got these at Dania Furniture. They have a pretty good selection of containers that I like. I’ve been super happy with them. I got them in a variety of shapes and sizes, but all are the same texture and color, which I really like. 😍
I checked out Dania and saw the nice planters . Just seems the big ones are only in the stores which are not near CT. When I need to go up a size I’ll find one. Thanks
I love how the planter turn out! I can’t wait to see the limelights in full bloom. I’m new to your channel and I’m so happy I found it! ! 😍
Very lovely! I'm working on containers right now too!
How are the Standards doing in the pots? Thanks for sharing.

@@InTheGardenWithClaudia How do you over winter them in the pots?

I just bought a limelight tree today, do you think it would be safe to plant in a planter for now? I live in the South and it stays really hot!
