We all know he has incredible vision and instincts, he's a great skater, and has a good shot. Other things he doesn't get enough credit for: He's tenacious in going after the puck, never has a lazy shift, and he is FEARLESS when carrying the puck. He has serious balls to just skate through traffic with the puck. I cant believe a teenager has that confidence.

this is without any doubt the best german junior team there ever was (and probably will be). Seider (no. 6 pick), Bokk (no. 25 pick), Stützle, Peterka, Reichel who all are listed to be first rounders or at least second rounders... that team really is impressive and i am looking forward to see those guys perform in the NHL very soon. German hockey has a bright future ahead of it
edit: completely forgot about Justin Schütz who was drafted in round 6 two years ago, but performed really well in the DEL last season.

Could be even better this year. Stutzle, Seider, Reichel and JJ will all be back. Their goalie, Ancicka will be back too. Baumgarten, Elias and Glotzl are all eligible and got some draft consideration last season. Not super familiar with the 2021 crop of guys but they will have more top-end firepower than ever before.

Still he won't become better than draisitil, not many players period can amount 43 goals and 110 points on 70 games. On pace for 50 goals and a 120+ point season in his 6th year. And 5th year was 50 goals and 105 pts. Draisitl is by far the gretzky of Germany and in his 6th year is already 422 points in 422 games.

The only way Kings will pick Stutzle over Byfield is that Stutzle is able to play 2 positions: Wing and Center, but Kings already have Kupari and Turcotte who can play both positions. There aren't enough assets in the entire Wings organization to make that happen.

@@mrpeppery Well, I was commenting on that before the draft. However, there are plenty of assets in the organization. The Wings just wouldn't be dumb enough to do it. They have a top 10 prospect pool right now, depending on who you ask.
I mean, lets start with Dylan Larkin, Anthony Mantha, Filip Hronek, Filip Zadina (20), Robbi Fabbri, Vladislav Namestnikov and Moritz Seider (19) (Seider is going to be a Norris type D man). Mathias Bromé is gonna come over whenever the league starts. He's a really good playmaker. Tyler Bertuzzi is a lot better and more important than many non Wings fans realize. Then you have Joe Veleno (20), Jared McIsaac (20), Gustav Lindstrom (22) and Lucas Raymond (18) who are roster locks within a couple years. Players who could definitely make a roster on D are guys like Dennis Cholowski, Albert Johansson (19), Gustav Berglund (19), Antti Tuomisto (19), William Wallinder (18), Alex Cotton (19), Donovan Sebrango (18), Eemil Viro (18) and even Joe Hicketts. Forwards with loads of potential include Yevgeni Svechnikov (23), Michael Rasmussen (21) who are going to play somewhere in the NHL if not with Detroit. Jonatan Berggren (20) (if he can stay healthy), Robert Mastrosimone (19), Ethan Phillips (19) and Theodor Niederbach (18) have a great chance with the Wings. Elmer Söderblom (19), Albin Grewe (19), Cross Hanas (18) have tons of upside. I also think in any other organization Dominic Turgeon would be on an NHL roster.

@@helmedon I know the Wings have a very good prospect pool and I was just being a little facetious in my comment. Also my math was wrong and I was thinking you posted that after the draft. I’m a Sens fan 100%, but Stevie Y is from my neck of the woods (and my era) and I have always considered the Wings to be a classy organization that does things right so I’m definitely wishing them the best. I think there problem is going to be similar to Ottawa’s - figuring out how to integrate all this young talent into the roster over an appropriate timeframe. And his season it’s all about forward prospects here: Steutzle (if he plays here), Batherson, Norris, Formenton, Logan Brown, Abramov). Next year Sanderson will likely be ready and Bernard-Docker and Thomson almost certainly will. How do you bring on 3 rookie D in one season? And if you don’t (because, let’s face it, you don’t) who gets left behind? Anyway, the next 3-4 years should be fun to watch for both teams, development-wise.

@@mrpeppery I agree. I think both teams are on the move up. Ottawa had a good draft and I think both teams are 2-3 years away from contending. I think that's why Yzerman loaded up with older players that still have value. They're nowhere near a contender right now, but at the trade deadline they'll have some great rental players to offer for draft picks. Bobby Ryan, Marc Staal, Danny Dekeyser. Even Frans Neilson and Filppula. These veterans can also provide mentoring for the kids coming in.
As much as I wanted Stutzle I'm very happy with Lucas Raymond. I was thinking that Ottawa should have taken Raymond with 3 and Holtz with 5. Those two are magic to watch. Still could have got a good defenseman later in the round too. They'll have six 1st round defensemen, four 20 or younger. Looks like most of the forwards are in their prime right now. I think we currently have 3 forwards on the roster. The rest are slated for AHL. I think we should bring up Joe Veleno asap. Moritz Seider is ready too. I didn't know who he was when they drafted him, but after watching his season in Grand rapids, I'm convinced that Yzerman is a genius. If you get a chance watch some of his highlights from last season. Just to appreciate a 19 year old playing like a vet. I really wanted Detroit to take Sanderson to pair with Seider but I knew he wouldn't last into the 2nd round. That would have been an amazing defense pair. Also wanted O'Rourke instead of Wallinder, but Detroit loves them some Swedish defensmen.
Not looking forward to playing Ottawa with Brady Tkachuk, Stutzle and Sanderson but I'm happy we took Namestnikov and Bobby Ryan from you. I've been a fan of both players. I don't know what Cody Goloubef brings yet, probably a Griffins roster spot

The only way the Habs can get him is if Bettman and Daly cancel the entire season and there's a 31 team lottery that's the only way.
