Great review I’ve owned this kit for the past year. I would just add the more you play around with Sim Hub you can dial this in at four corners and get incredible effects like the review said less is more, but you really got to get your hands dirty in Sim Hub to get the most out of it. Also like to add my sound card died on me causing the system not to work. Emailed slip angle they sent me out another other one at no cost. Great customer service.
Less is more,, when you use transducers that are frequency limited and when you are applying multiple effects to the same channel. This approach, while the springs are good ( I own the spring kit) is about 12 years old. Things have moved on...
Isolation and an Equalizer are two basic additions that boost haptics to the next level. I'd still mount the shakers directly to the seat (no drilling needed) and under pedals, though.
Super informative, as always! We haven't experienced this system first hand yet, but will second your thought on the magic always being in the fine tuning per user 👌
Great review! How would you compare the overall feedback / immersion between 3 DOF motion system with a single buttkicker vs the slipangle haptics kit? Would you prefer haptics only over motion?
Thanks for the review! I've had a Slip-Angle kit since before they had the USB Soundcard/amp version but the standard analog so I use my built-in soundcard 3.5mm ports. Didn't know they had added profiles on their website, I did it all manual back then! Just curious to know as far as the volume knobs on your amp? Going to try this config file and play a bit with it. Unfortunately my rear right shaker hits a certain frequency that makes a part in my rig to rattle.. it's quite annoying so I have to turn it down.. Thanks again!
Yes, with them, they absorb a lot of vibrations, but even without them, it's not too bad either. However, the best way to experience this kit is definitely with the spring isolators.
Hey thanks for the informative video! I see you're using some sort of mat/rug? Is it better than just having the rubber feet under the springs directly to the floor? Also what mat/rug is that? Looks nice. Thanks!
Hey, thanks! Well I always used a mat before testing the slip-angle kit, I don't think it would make too much difference but probably would asorb more sound. I mainly have the mat to protect my floor since I often move my rigs around when reviewing different hardware. It is actually just a large gym/workout mat. Hi Mike, thank you for this thorough review! Did Slip Angle also provide you with a discount code? (I'm asking because they have a discount code field in the order process...) Thanks!
I really want to add haptics to my rig but I live in an appartment, I use some isolation pads on my rig but I doubt it would be enough for regular shakers. Do you feel they are quiet enough and the vibration is isolated enough to the rig so that someone can use it in an appartment while being on an upper floor ?
I've had this kit for almost a year and live on the top floor of an apartment building. I actually bought it because of the promised sound isolation, and am happy to say it definitely works. Nothing outside the rig vibrates, and I've even driven stints for endurance races in the middle of the night with zero complaints from other people in the building.
This is exactly what I’ve been looking for. I’ve currently got a single buttkicker under my seat but I’m looking to expand further. Would I be able to connect my current buttkicker to the slip angle 300W amp ?

@@The2008350z I’m on the fence of buying this. As I have a single transducer and I too love the LFE on iracing. To me it feels like an engine. Simhub RPM is just lost. In the feel.

@@simracingden Personal question, would you be interested in trying an approach I have worked on with unique effects. Then to compare this to what you have already been doing to this point.
Even the kit without the isolation springs mounted directly to my cockpit which I'm currently testing is much better than running one buttkicker gamer pro.

@@rkwjunior2298 I’d assume so because these bass shakers can take 50w only. Leaves you 100w to connect extra 2. Under and back of the seat is a must in my opinion. I’m not so sure about corners, I find it hard to believe you can distinguish as most of it lost through the frame travel.
Hi,been watching reviews for this. Few questions... 1. I have casters as I need to be able to roll my rig easily every now and then. I understand too I can't put casters under the spring plate. Anyone used lift caster with this? Or anyone know source for plates I can mount below the spring plates to hold them up (ie. L-plates?), so I can fix casters below the rig. 2. I was using castors before had to remove them not great with this type of setup maybe you could design some sort of platform on wheels then put your rig on there. 100W unless you want to add more transducers.
@@simracingden I see. @00:13 what type of board is that you have under your rig? It easy to slide your rig with that, if ever? Also, think the set you showed in the video is the $575 set which is 200W... you recommend only the 100W for 4 transducers?
How is the difference in strength from the front shakers to the rear for anyone who has this kit? My fronts are significantly weaker at the same settings as the rear and seat shakers.
I would say it's mainly because the rear shakers are closer to your seat, so you're probably feeling them more. You could just turn up the volume for the front shakers to compensate.
@simracingden thanks for the reply. Volume is maxed on the fronts so I'd have to turn everything down to match but the fronts are weak. I've reached out to them.
