thank you for your video! i do have a question. are you allowed to just choose any book to narrate from to audition for acx? or do you need to get some sort of permission to use the book you choose?
You need to audition for the author by reading a portion of the book. The author then selects which narrator will perform the book. You can audition for any book.

Yes. You just need to record a demo of reading an audiobook selection of about a minute and a half and upload the recording as an MP3. It's free to join.
Okay so I already set up my account I already picked the books that I like I clicked on one of the books so I can read a part of it but it does not open up to give you anything to read so where do I find the scripts?
The book is not available to read online unless you are paying for it. Unless they have somewhere else where narrators can find these books to read a short script to record for these authors in their books?

On ACX.com you click on the book cover or title on the page of available books. Then on the page with info about that book there are four tabs. The first tab is "About this Title", the second is "Audition". Click on that tab. The audition script will either be available on the page or downloadable.

I was there before but where it says audition script, the Rights holder has some other stuff written pertaining to the book but not the actual script. The script is next to, "Notes from Right's Holder". Thank you so much. I'm recording now. You are an amazing person. Thank you
