- Chopin Piano Concerto no 1 in E Minor II-III part
II Romance: Larghetto
9:10 III Rondo: Vivace
22:24 Encore: Scarlatti Sonata in D Major K 491
Russian National Orchestra, conductor Mikhail Pletnev
Performed April 23 2018. Moscow Tchaikovsky Concert Hall
As always, Lucas DeBargue so vividly brings out all the essential characteristics of the work, AND THEN SOME! And it’s the EXTRAS, no, the so-far HIDDEN, never-before-heard characters of these well-trodden, million-times-performed and heard standard war horses. I mean, even the tempo, honestly. Here is finally, a pianist who doesn’t feel pressured to show off his techniques with the final movement of this concerto. It really takes A WHOLE LOT of GUTS and genuine, unadulterated musicianship, pure artistry. Really, easier said than done. And yet, yes, he’s done it again.
Bravo Lucas!
What a great pianist!
I never cry with any of the new players... not that they're NOT great! cause they are... BUT this boy makes me weep every time!
🌹🌹🌹
Bravissimo! Interpretazione sublime, tecnica eccezionale.
The most delicate yet non contrived Chopin I’ve ever listened. I like his treatment of minimizing rubato.
non contrived ... he keeps a rustic innocent feel to it
Absolutely Agreed.
I like Debargue's springy, fresh rhythmic play and the absence of unnecessary rubato
and yet... he still plays with a certain amount of freedom... which I can't explain... kind of amazing... GOTTA LOVE this guy! I never cry to classical music anymore... BUT I do with this young lad... all the time
@@Highinsight7 vikingur olafsson is the only other pianist i know of with this particular quality
@@nbeutler1134 Thanks, I'll check him out.
You are amazing.
Merveilleux, somptueux ...
Que felicidad. !!!!!!
I love this man ❤️

Lucas Moves my soul.
belo Lucas. parabéns e tb para o ótimoi Pletnev
When I want to hear the piano sing to me I click when I see Chopin... Utterly sublime...
Grande musicalità
So fresh! Delicate yet robust
BRAVO 👏 what a dynamics!!!!
Please, where is the first movement??
Is it another version of chopin concerto? pletnev arranged it? 3rd movement seems to be different compared to another video.
Yes, I think so. He made a new orchestration for both Chopin's concertos. He recorded them with Trifonov for DG a while back
@@ondrejzavadil244 ah I see. I am gonna listen pletnev & trifonov recording. I think pletnev is emphasizing woodwinds and it seems to make good harmony with chopin's pianism. Thank you for your kind reply 😘
@@namheekim1949 No problem :)
Hi Lucas!
Is it your official RUclips channel?
👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋👋🇮🇷
Great playing, but Pletnev re-orchestration is a bit atrocious...
Is there a 1st movement?
Is there mvt 1 and 2?
Un ancore. ?

Beautiful but too shy versus Rubinstein. None of that mature brilliance
Debargue is young. Why compare? Listen to this exceptional young man. We are all in awe of the great Rubinstein; I’m sure Lucas is aware of him too. Their heritages are very different. I’m sure Lucas will develop his own “voice” in time. Right now he makes a beautiful case for Chopin.
@@snoopenny then simply compare him to Trifonov. Night and day
The piano had not a good sound you can't play deeply with a cristal sound like this
