My first character was a fighter, it was so boring so I decided to save scum until I found something that was fun, so my journey began as a lvl 5 monk, It's by far my favorite class in the game, punching and kicking Eldritch abominations is way cooler than using swords and bows, And making them explode after you touch them? Hell yeah.
That's insane. The "resonating punch" is actually a level 17 skill that insta kills a target. And you have 28 days to activate the skill once used. It's cool to know it's in the game as a lesser ability
Great video, very clear. Important to note also that the movement is improving on itself each time, from 10 to 15 to 20ft. At first glance it might seem like the first tier is +10, 2nd is an additional +15 and the last is +20 but it's all like the same stat just improving a little bit each time.
I've debated whether to have my new monk playthrough be a ninja, the Avatar or One Punch Man. Thanks to you I can see each and make my decision now that I'm about to reach that level. The DLC in the special edition includes a red cape so you can be Caped Baldy.
@@Omaha01 I ended up picking Way of the Open Hand. At first I thought of doing elements for ranged attacks, but then realized a simple bow was good enough for me. Once I finally ditched the staff and switched to bare hands, it's been satisfying taking enemies down with a punches and roundhouse kicks.
@Toshimi1043 nice! You gonna do any multiclassing? I need to do a playthrough with open hand. He's the only Monk I haven't messed with a ton outside of this video
@@Omaha01 Not sure, since I'm so far enjoying the monk class on its own. Maybe I'll eventually pick something, probably a class none of the other squadmates have. Ranger may be one possibility, but I also want to keep leveling up and seeing how far my monk can go.
I took the tavern brawler route, so my flurry of blows does 23-30 something damage. I essentially walk up to a boss and end the fight first turn. My current stats still missing some key items mind you I’m only lvl7 STG: 20 DEX: 18 Wis: 17 or 18 can’t remember 8-10 for the rest of the stats. I hit really hard and have 19 ac.
when you used the detonate at 12:10, there are 3 instances of damage on each guy, and one of them says 13, not to mention 9 and 8. The resonation blast says it's 3d6 though. Where is this damage coming from? also did you dye that monk robe or is it a different one?
Each detonating creature also hits creatures in the vicinity when detonated (excluding the monk apparently), hence each skeleton got 3 instances of damage: one from its own blast and one from each other detonating skeleton, for a total of 3.
Anyone else decide to play a monk after you fight the ones in the campaign
those guys destroyed me the first time 😂

I started way of the open hand monk because I practice MMA so I feel like it fits me better

My main is a Wood Elf Monk Tavern Brawler build named Spruce Lee. He absolutely wrecks shit.
Hahaha GOATed name 😂
That's hilarious
Shoulda named him Spruce Willis.
Best BG3 CONTENT SIMPLE AND STRAIGHT TO THE POINT. I dont know why it's hard to find this kind of content on RUclips ffs.

The goat is back‼️
I didn’t think monks were good until I had to go help the emperor
haha yeah those dudes mauled me my first playthrough 😂
Dude, one of the best "How-To" on the Monk. Thank you!
When you reach level 9:
Karlach is red.
Wulbren is blue.
When the ki resonates,
*Omae wa mou shindeiru.*
"Na ni ?"
I am Shock!
The explicit reason I picked this subclass, I love Hokuto No Ken. Hokuto Shinken has no equal!

no, I wanted to make Zuko with a mix of grand cathay dragons from warhammmer
Go 3 rogue for thief, extra bonus action is killer. Like enough to take out most act 3 bosses in 1 turn.

I think because it's AOE so each of their blasts is also hitting the others. I dyed it
Hey, I'm new to the game. Does it still work the way you showed? Or was something nerfed?
Still works the way I showed as far as I'm aware!
Monk is just COOL like the warlock
