This 90+ Great Grandmother in Arizona, who “discovered” you when you played with our Phoenix Symphony recently, loves your performances and is so grateful that you continue to share your gifts with all of us during this lonely, pandemic time. I send you my best and fondest virtual hugs, you sweet man. 👵🏻😍👏🙏🏽💐🎶
I think that you have the "NICEST" sound among the greatest violinists; even when playing super difficult compositions like Paganini Caprices, Ysaye, and the like...while having perfect intonation. That is "insanely" difficult for me to imagine, yet I'm witnessing it in listening to your RUclips channel playlists. Thank you so much Augustin for sharing your treasure with us!
I stumbled across a short snippet of this video on Instagram and fell in love with it, so of course i had to look for the full video here on RUclips and I am so glad I did. This is beautiful and I am now a fan of yours. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
My comments one year ago remain true! Just watched your “cat cartoon piece” which is beautiful and sweet, as well. There is no end to your creativity. I hope that you are able now to perform in concert halls . So happy that we can enjoy your playing on You Tube. Be well, Augustin.👵🏻😍👏🙏🏽
Wow! Just Wow! You continue to surprise us! Stunning interpretation! Augustin , Thank you! The Guarneri ’del Gesù’, the c.1744 ‘Leduc, Szeryng’, sound is just amazing! ‘The sound of this violin has a richness and complexity that I have rarely heard in any instrument,’ said Hadelich. ‘For the past nine years, I was fortunate to perform on a beautiful 1723 Stradivari violin (‘Ex-Kiesewetter’). I find that Stradivari and ’del Gesù’ had very different aesthetics, with Stradivari aiming for a refined, brighter sound, and del Gesù favouring a darker, passionate sound colour. ‘Although I have often been more partial to the sound of Stradivari in the past, the moment I played the Leduc del Gesù, something in the sound drew me to the violin and I did not want to stop playing,’ he continued. ‘I love the vocal, human quality of the sound of this violin. In my first performances with the ‘Leduc’, its sound filled the largest halls effortlessly, and every piece I play right now feels like a new and wonderful discovery.’
Thanks again, Augustin, for yet another absolutely amazing video that brightens the day of so many viewers! Your hard work in creating this presentation is greatly appreciated!
Excellent compliment with my morning coffee. The real test will be with evening cognac. *Wonderful* performance Maestro Hadelich. Great job by the GilArchiEnsemble too. It must have been quite difficult to pull off on a 7-person Zoom, but worked flawlessly (to my ears). Wishes for a great day to you and your musical comrades-in-arms, and lots of gratitude! I look forward to a late-evening replay.
Giusto ciel, in tal periglio... From L'assedio di Corinto and Maometto II by Rossini is the source of inspiration for this adagio. Thanks Augustin for making your wonderful violin sing so well.
Excellent ensemble work, coupled to flawless, radiant, and rich solo playing. Augustin - your sound image on Paganini is quite different from the Italian school (Ricci, Accardo etc.), thoroughly appealing in its strong and clean articulation, and it would be an amazing project to consider recording all six concertos on the 'Leduc' to present a new, 21st-century standard alongside Accardo's classic gem. That would be a violinistic dream come true.
Magnificent performance and video production! You all deserve an award for, dare I say, this perfect interpretation. Everything is as it should be - tempo, dynamics, emotion, technique, audio balance, and video production. A stunning achievement! It looks like you are all in different locations. How did you all play in time - probably some post-production wizardry. Thank you for sharing your outstanding talents.
Such an amazing project. The technical difficulties must have been annoying to say the least. Thanks for the passion of everyone involved and for the great result. It was a joy to listen. :) Greetings from Germany! :)
I will just post the text I sent to my son a few months ago. “This guy I honestly believe is the best violist in the world of all time. Compare with the biggest name since hundred years ago. He is my number one favorite. I had performed live both with Itzhak Perlman and Pinkas Zukerman, also watched tons of RUclips videos of Yasha Hefets and other great violinist. The beauty of the sounds and near humans voices of instruments Augustin Hadelich creates is the best ever. Also from technical aspect he is amounted few top players in the world. That’s why his playing is so valuable because the combination of both.” Side note: even when you playing high notes A on E string a slightly on the sharp side doesn’t bothering me as much because your wide beautiful vibratos!
Paganini wrote 6 wonderful concertos. why are violinists only playing 1 and 1/3 of them (no. 1 and 3rd mov of no. 2)? i've been familiar with them since Accardo released the first recording of all 6 in the early 70's. and props to Massimo Quarta for probably collectively the best recording of all 6. and props to Augustin for this great performance. you've probably developed some sway with music directors around the world. we need great fiddlers like you to push conductors to program the "other" Paganini concertos. i know audiences will be thrilled to hear them.
Augustin Hadelich! It's a miracle I just heard. Don't be surprised if I listen to you all day🌹🥀

Paganini é sempre uma incrível surpresa, é a primeira vez que ouço essa peça.
You found the “out of this earth” violinist. It’s like he goes to another realm when he plays.

Exactly, I also thought there were only 2 VC by Paganini. Now I have to listen to all 6!!
Thank you, God, for burying Augustin for us❤️.
