- 15 year old Karolina Protsenko is playing Mendelssohn Violin Concerto In E Minor as soloist with Orchestra Nova LA for the first time. Karolina is playing on a Carl Becker violin Chicago 1937.

I had watched many of Karolina"s popular music videos and was impressed but this performance is way beyond those. I thought that maybe I was easily impressed since I know little about classical music but I see many who know classical are impressed as well. I just keep coming back to this one as I can:t seen to get enough.

You nailed it in a much more technical and professional evaluation than I could. I know I enjoy listening to classical music. And I, too was amazed at Karolina's performance from memory! And the endurance of standing there for so long. I almost expected her to start dancing as she played. 😏
But the Emotions (as you noted) she expressed through the music are part of the magic in this piece. We are witnessing a rare talent. Karolina has a remarkable future.

In my opinion, in addition to the covers that you play divinely on the streets, now not only of Santa Monica, but also in Europe, I am sure that a concert of this caliber with you as first violin will lead you to perform in the greatest theaters in the world. Karolina is going to turn me into a fan of classical music.
She does it beautifully. But I've been into classical for years.
It doesn't fit every occasion, but it just has something to it.
Also violin has so much variety, it can be classical, country or other folk music styles and, as Karolina has shown, even modern pop.
if you want more violin concertos, id suggest brahms's or maybe sibelius's violin concerto, the entrance for the soloist in brahms is just so good
You have Hilary Hahn, Janine Jansen, Ray Chen and TwoSet Violin for that. Classic music is a true gem, and I'm not saying it just because I'm a classical violinist

What can I say about Karolina that hasn't already been said? I was sitting in the front row next to her parents. It was a beautiful, very difficult piece and Karolina played it brilliantly. BRAVO!

Dear Katherine Brown, Je ne suis pas du tout un spécialiste en musique classique , mais je pense avoir progressé depuis que j'ai découvert Karolina en juin 2023 et, je suis d'accord avec vous, il y le son et je dirait même certaines sonorités que je ne retrouve chez aucun autre artiste et cela au delà de la technique.
Je ne sais pas si vous connaissez ces autres parutions, moi je suis fans et je les ai toutes vues et écoutées longuement. Même si ce n'est pas du classique, je vous conseille entre autres, puisque il y en a plusieurs centaines, toutes géniales, sa reprise du groupe Métallica :" nothing else matters", ou encore de scorpions : "wind of change". Des chef d'œuvre absolus, ainsi que tous les autres. Merci d'avoir la patience de me lire.

As an avid fan of heavy metal and rock along with the occasional blast of death metal, I could never have imagined myself listening to a piece of classical but I absolutely loved this. To have such a talented young lady leading the orchestra is an amazing achievement at the tender age of 15yrs old so hat's off to you Karoina, you are an absolute star!♥️♥️
If you check RUclips you'll find her busking in Santa Monica AT THE AGE OF 7, and playing just as well as this! Simply amazing. And - notice that while all the other orchestra members were reading their music, Karolina was playing by heart! No music reading for her!

I actually came looking for a concert performance to distract me from her street performance and t to see how she stood as an artist in the hardest arena of all. I love to watch her dance in the streets but her playing is affected by the constant movements. Here she shows off exactly how competent a musician she really is.

All of the musicians in the orchestra are reading sheet music throughout this entire performance while Kaorlina is playing by memory. Bravo !!
Orchestras always use sheet music. Soloists do not. They are expected to memorize the piece.

I don't know if you were nervous before this concert, but you need not be, you are one of the best violinists ever to step on a stage like this. It was Perfection and you are just AMAZING! I think some of the people in this orchestra were surprised at your skill. Just look at this video and look at their faces... These people have been studying music for years and you step in at 15 and outshine all of them!!! You are PERFECTION at best!!! Just liking this video does not describe my ADMIRATION for the SKILL you possess... This brought me to TEARS! So Great!!!

Actually no orchestra soloist plays from sheet music, it is a general norm to memorize it from sheet music which Karolina naturally did.
It's not "only" 15. Musicians typically start at the age of 5 or even earlier, so by the age of 15 they turn professional and must perform like one.

- there are actually thousands of violinists who play it with orchestra around the world, and if intensively trained only classically many younger than Karolina. But I suspect Lindsey Stirling is not one of them. And it is not the most difficult violin concerto by far. But Karolina has great talent to advance higher and farther.

Ich bin 68 Jahre jung und kann dich sehr, sehr gut verstehen. Von Anfang an verfolge ich Karolina. Nur Freude, Lächeln, Hochbegabung, ein Genuß. Kein Frivoles, aber Züchtigkeit die man heute als unmodern abstempelt und doch leicht, erregende Erotik, Liebe für die Menschen, Geld schaut nicht aus ihren Augen. Wir älteren Menschen schauen nur auf das Herz, die Augen und die Ausstrahlung (Musik etc.) Ich jedenfalls habe so ein Talent, Hollywood ist dagegen das Letzte (obwohl ich da einiger Musik angetan bin), bis heute nirgendwo auf dieser Welt kennengelernt.

It's just so satifying that she is the lead violinist in a concerto with the L A Orchestra. I bless her for many many more greater achievements. it was a really nice performance, but it is normal to play by heart as a soloist in classical concerto - even the 10yr old youngsters do it. to learn the music by heart and fully concentrate on expressing the music is a core skill for soloists. it needs a lot of practice but actually if you study the concert and work on every phrase on how to express it the very best you know it, you dream about it.... it is not so much the problem of knowing the concerto, you also know the interaction with the orchestra because you do this with the pianist in rehearsals and also you study the concert by listening to other great violinists and them playing with orchestra. but sometimes it is tricky that there are phrases appearing repeatedly and the are continued differently and you do not have to mix this up :-)

Karolina, I watched this performance a few times as I normally do before commenting... First, I congratulate you on your first major concert with an accomplished orchestra (first of many)... Second, thank you for sharing this momentous moment with the world... Third, BRAVO!!!... what I think gets lost in the minds of many is that you just turned 15 years old... And what I also believe is missed by most is you are your own greatest critic... how do I know this? because watching you over the last few years I see an artist that is never satisfied with your previous performance... this in my humble opinion is one of the many traits that put you in the category of the greats... watching this performance I see a young lady that is so much more mature than her age... and yet I also see a fifteen-year-old that is having the time of her life...

@@JamesKnights-zk5ii No doubt her teacher is very proud of her... a few comments mention the fact that compared to other prodigies her age some are more accomplished... hmmm I challenge that thought... yes, there are some that by this age have already stepped on stage with an accomplished orchestra... but consider this young lady didn't get her start in serious classical training till she was nearly 7 years old... AND... she has followed a passion for performing in a live setting for the past 5-6 years... I mentioned she is her best critic for her continuous improvement not only in her technique but also in her performance in front of her fans... she has 8.2 million plus followers on her RUclips channel... nearly 2 billion views.... regardless of where she decides to focus most of her time she will be ready for the occasion.... she is a true artist not just a concert violinist... not just a street performer... not just a cure girl that can play a violin...
