      I agree! You have too remember that there were numerous bands in those days. These bands a following like NY Dolls, The Heartbreakers , Ramones, Wayne County and countless others. But this band would have been a big influence in that era. But what a great tone on his fender strat! This just my humble opinion! Rock Steady People!

    Imagine what it would have been like if death was injected into the spirit of 77 back then with the Ramones, Sex Pistols, Dead Boys, and even Sham 69. That would have been so awesome. I think it would have improved punk rock in a way.

    • @ddskreamer
      @ddskreamer 5 лет назад +5

      Thanks man! I was lucky enough to hear Death in the early 80's. Yeah, they had an influence, even if it was small in comparison the bands you mentioned. I wasn't into those bands but I was into Death!

    • @Slammerworm1
      @Slammerworm1 3 года назад +2

      @@MarcelinhoTheRock The Sex Pistols were actually a very good band musically; the movement in England was so sudden that a lot of bands formed quickly and had little time to play live and practice, so many of them weren't up the the Pistols' standard (they had been together for at least 6 months before any other English punk bands formed). For the first year or so of British punk, the Pistols were the only UK band who could hold a candle to the American bands, who had been at it for a year or so before them.

      damnEh86 really? Like nothing about this live performance but I think most of the time punk bands sound better live then in the recordings, like they normally aren’t technically as good, but the energy is normally better and that’s really the whole point of punk.

      It really depends on the band, it's not what mattered in punk but there were sum bands that were as sharp as a razor.
      As for everyone else, I believe it also has to do with mass beer consumption and other party treats. No one parties like punx

      A lot of punk bands could play. I had the first Damned album on today. The guitar playing is great. Likewise Raw Power.

      Dirk Dierking 29 ppl with no taste in music. This band had great influences (Hendrix, Miles Davis...) and went on to play some of the best tunes. Tight, talented and punk! Why aren’t (or weren’t) they more popular I don’t know but look at Big Star ⭐️.

    It was what they wanted it to be. A little Jimy a little Who a little Jethro a lot of themselves. They nailed it. They have opened the door for this 68yr.old to the possibility of punk. Even I can understand what they are saying. Words are important. Clarity please.

    • @LeeGHThomas
      @LeeGHThomas 6 лет назад +3

      I feel the opposite. With a lot of punk and post punk groups such as Ty Segall, Jay Reatard and Thee Oh Sees I can't understand a majority of the lyrics... its the energy you feel when yelling thats so important to this genre... not what is being said. This is hard rock, not folk-country.

      Thomas Lee Completely disagree, I feel the whole ideal of punk rock is to send across a message, you don’t have to be the best at playing you instruments, you just want to be heard. But I guess that’s why it’s so great, because everyone looks at it different!

    Well I got news for you, that ain't the way it's gonna be

    But now you're back for more, and I forgot your name

Great energy. Bought this album. Sucks that they went undiscovered for so long. Great that people finally get to appreciate them. I need to watch the documentary.
