The Ryobi Brushed driver is basically the same tool with a slightly different mold and it does do a lot of the basic tasks around the home etc and at a decent price. However, the cheaper "drill drivers" in all brands including the more known like dewalt, Milwaukee, makita etc, all these cheaper drivers leave out one important function that a basic home owner eventually needs and that is the "Hammer" Function on the drill itself to be able to drill into concrete and masonry more efficiently and with less effort so I will not recommend purchasing the drill driver but instead look for the ones labelled "Hammer Drill" and an appropriate bit set. It may cost a little more but it does save you a bunch when you need it. But if you can get a "Kit" with about 3 tools (Drill Driver, Circular Saw and recip saw Etc) with battery and a charger at a good price say USD$100 then it's a good buy since you get multiple tools to use around your home and complete small projects.

A hammer drill is really unnecessary for most folks. On the rare occasions its needed you can always rent or borrow one.

Paying a lot more for a feature few will ever use is not a wise strategy..
