This dinner scene was absolutely perfect, remarkable and an absolute joy to watch as the meltdown unfolded. I mean the filming, acting, music and editing was superb but the real champs are the writers who did such a phenomenal job with the script. I have not seen such a well written show since Breaking Bad and Ozark! Such excellent story telling!!

She announced herself and embarrassed her dad so that he would have to be straight with her and take his own offer seriously. But Logan recognised what she was trying to do and punished her for it. Because at this time in the show, she had a good work opportunity working for an opposing politician (which would have embarrassed Logan), so Logan offered her the keys to the realm to keep her from working for this guy. She got tired of the empty promises, so she felt it was a power move to get it out there, so now he’d have the pressure to make it real. But she miscalculated. It’s Logan we are talking about. He doesn’t care to make good on things he says. He only cares to come on top. He wasn’t planning to ever do it, even if she didn’t embarrass him during the dinner. It was never going to happen.

Having just rewatched it again, this whole episode was such a perfectly executed cringefest capped with this dinner scene. Nan seeing and exacerbating a rift between Logan and Marcia was such a power move. Shiv’s smugness and lack of situational awareness that completely went away when Logan blew up was perfectly cringe. Roman’s look of defeat after going through training and doing things Logan told Shiv to do but she refused to thinking it would help him was just hilarious. Perfectly written and executed.

Pillage meaning to rob a (place) using violence, especially in wartime. So what Rhea is saying to Nan sarcastically (I think) is that the acquisition that Logan is dealing with is fake or not really happening. That's why Shiv reacted the way she did after Rhea says it.
Logan really shot himself in the foot when he ditched Marcia for Kerry. Kerry is a colossal downgrade. But a person like Logan could never tolerate a partner who is remotely at the same standing as he is. He prefers them agreeable and stupid.
