Yes that is her voice. Some people do not understand this is why they chose her. Disney could not find anyone else that could sing this. Her personality goes well with Ariel character. Disney said Halle Bailey nailed the audition.
Her voice is so stunnings but... in the book, Ariel looses her voice for the most of the part... I wish she does but I dont rlly know if shes good for acting WITHOUT her voice than other actors who were discussed as the little mermaid...
There's a vocal coach on RUclips...Lesage I think... he's the first person I heard describe her voice (before she was cast) as "classic Disney princess" He's not wrong.
@@angelettejones8882 I just finished watching it. They literally had her sing in front of the Walt Disney Castle with a whole orchestra, and fireworks! Fantastic! Now I have an even better understand of this casting. Thank you so much for this!
@@WatchUsReact I highly recommend you listen to a few of her songs with her sister. They are ChloexHalle. Their voices are amazing. Their album got me through 2020.
I've been skeptical of the live action remakes of the animated films that came out in the '90s. Which is why I haven't seen any of them. This. I want to see this. Grown up me can totally get behind this. Her face, her hair. Really capture mythical sea creature beauty. ETA: what I mean is that Hallee Bailey's Ariel is the kind of mermaid sailors would have thrown themselves over the side of their boats for.
She and her sister are beautiful singers. One of the best young artists around now, so I'm not surpised. She sounds beautiful and has the sweet personality to match.
Oh you need to see ChloeXHalle perform! That is most definitely her voice! She’s always had such an angelic Voice and her real personality matches so much with Ariel. Excellent casting. Hopefully you watched her sing “Can you feel the love tonight” last year for Disney
I am being told this a lot. I'm definitely already on my way to learn more about her as a person/talent. This was legit my first time seeing her on screen until you awesome commentators starting pointing out some stuff to check. Will def check out that performance as well
I have seen Ariel white all the time but she Is beautiful and play the part really nice I guess their was no talented women like her. I know for a fact many don’t agree because of her skin but this women she made my chakras filled with bright light with her beautiful Ariel voice she made me remember my childhood 100% beautiful
I'm glad Disney put Halle Bailey as the focal point of this trailer release. Very smart move to showcase your star player first, voice and all. Excited to see more! Thank you :)
They've race swapped aerial out for a diversity hire, of course its a check box movie, and as a result its going to bomb. Official trailers got 1 million downvotes from people who understand that racism works both ways and replacing all your white actors and actresses with minorities is indeed racism in itself.
@@simonrodgers2375 believe me I’m right there with you however, if this movie is well written, respects the original with out blatantly just copy and paste. If it’s well acted and this lead actress really plays this role beautifully then it will prove it’s self to be a film where choosing the best actors was more important than just checking the inclusivity boxes. Hopefully this turns out great and not just another “let’s turn Wesker in to Blade” situation lol
@@residentkat They rarely are, that's another thing. All these movies where they've race swapped white actors out have first time or inexperienced directors onboard, and the story unusually inconsistent, doesn't respect the lore and is boring. It's become a bit of a meme that when people criticise the shoddy story and acting etc, they get called racist. Its as though Disney are hiring these diversity hires to replace established white characters for the purpose of yelling racist, when people are critical of the content.
@@simonrodgers2375 it's been okay for the past 100+ years in Hollywood when every race has been swapped out for white? Not just the past it's still happening, and at the end of the day this is a fictional story.

Yeah that's Ariel grove where she sings. I should've been more thorough. This is a first solo react for me so I'm still getting the hang of detail lol. I was referring to that tunnel where her and flounder was going up. I remember in the cartoon there were 2 ways to go. I believe Ursula's Garden? Where those crying polyps were.
It's def her voice I thought that was the part where she was swimming up to the surface and saw Eric for the first time - right before the ship fire and her then rescuing him.
Right. Another commenter said the same thing. I just felt it looked very familiar to Ursula's Garden cuz of those rigid lines in the wall. It seems it could be the fire lights from the ship, OR, the fireworks from Ursula's cauldron lol. Probably is the boat though lol
I'm referring to the pathway to where the red lights were flashing at the end of the tunnel. I probably used the wrong word lol. It seems like Ursula is already binding the spell in that scene. I know the grove she's sitting and singing in is her treasure room lol.
@@WatchUsReact I'm pretty sure the lights are the fireworks being shot off from prince Eric's ship for his birthday party that she investigates, and then later rescues him
I love it I love it I love it!!!! It's about time that a movie was made that represents blacks and mixed races!!!!! I will be 70 this year most of my childhood I grew up seeing nothing but caucasians it's wonderful to see that my great-grandchildren we'll see what America was supposed to be all about all races Creed in colors!!! A melting pot 😀❤️
The original LIttle Mermaid was my daughter's favorite. The VHS tape was played, rewound, played again a lot. The new mermaid's voice is amazing here and I was getting a little misty eyed from the nostalgia. My only wish would have been to keep the trademark red hair. We will see how this film goes. Some of these have been great, others not so much. Just from this teaser, I think this may be one of the best.
Disney 3-D is probably well on it's way lol. I know some friends that get some type of motion sickness from 3D so I personally just catch the IMAX viewings during outings.
Lovely 🥰! Downvoting this movie is a silly trap 🙄. I smell bots spamming to smear non-race swapping fans as racists. I for one didn’t care about Brandy from Moesha playing Cinderella - another story that Disney didn’t originate, so who cares if they re-imagine it? #WWG1WGA
Just FYI, The Little Mermaid is a story in Danish folklore so how does an African girl portray the plot and culture of the character of Danish folklore???
In reality The Little Mermaid is just a fairytale and this is 2022 it shouldn't matter what race is playing the character. Its the talent and delivery of it that matters. With all the cultures that have embraced this story/movie, its evolved into something that's more then just a Danish folklore. Its for everyone.
The first fairy tale of mermaids are from Syria, Atlantis where Ariel is from is an Egyptian tale. Prince Eric meets Ariel by being rescued from a ship crash which means he could have been anywhere in the world. Putting this together the ship crash likely happened in the Mediterranean even in the original Danish tale
