I will never fail to mention that Ernesto was so vain that when he and Imelda were singing La Llorona at the end he went up a key out of her range so she couldn't continue to sing with him.
As a mexican, the day of the death is my favorite festivity since it helps me feel closer to those who passed away. Last time I went to the cementary to visit the graves my mom told me something I actually forgot I used to do. One aunt, a sister of my grandma, used to come often to my home, and when I ehard she was gonig to come I stood outside for hours looking at the busses, hoping for her to come down and asking if she is in that bus. I also remember I kept doing that some time after her passing, asking when she will come back, but how do you explain to a five year old what death is. The most recent member of my family that passed away was my grandma, that same grandma I mentioned before. She passed over three years ago, but I still miss her, in her last moments she admitted I was her favorite grandson. But enough about sad memories, there are some details in the movie that go almost unnoticed, first, the dog, Dante, even if it was accidental, he was always guiding Miguel to where he needed to go, he even tried to stop him when he was leaving Hector. The second is Hector, most of the movie he was barefoot, but at the end he had a new pair of shoes, indicating that the family accepted him again.

From a cultural standpoint, Coco means the world to me. The sheer respect for Mexican culture in this movie is just incredible. The music, the food & the preparations for The Day Of The Dead. The culture itself is part of who I am and it's very important, as is the message of the importance of family. Being Mexican, I used to go an visit the cemetery every year for Día de Los muertos. The 1st of November is for the remembrance of the unborn/babies and children. The 2nd of November is for adults. We used to go very early to the cemetery. There’s a big line to get in, it’s full of people. You go the the grave or graves and you clean them, put markers ink on the faded names on the stones, put the flowers and ofrendas. It’s an entire day of being there, it’s like a picnic. You put blankets and you have food and drinks and the whole family enjoys the day. There’s also a lot of street musicians all over the cemetery so it’s very loud everywhere like a big party with different songs sounding out far and near. There’s a lot of street food vendors also that sell all types of Mexican street foods. It’s really a beautiful Mexican holiday 🇲🇽🇲🇽🇲🇽 Most people didn’t understood it until this movie of coco came out.
