  • In todays vlog i go over the newest addition to my garage which is a BMW F10 535i with an N55 motor. These cars are becoming a great bargain as you can find them for under 10k. i got mine for a bargain because of a few minor cosmetic issues and the higher mileage. the car has great service records and was well maintained so i decided to take the risk. in this video i turn the simple task of changing the start button on the car to red since the original was worn out into a much bigger task than it needed to be. i got stuck in a parking lot and eventually made it out. i also changed the faded AC buttons. my plan is to do full bolt ons and give it an OEM+ upgrade cosmetically and finish with a tune. Subscribe to see the build of this car and my g550.

    Did you just say 110,000 miles is high? I bought my last BMW (Late 2000 E39 528i MT52-TU) with 125,000 miles and drove it for 16 years. Donated it at 207,000 miles and now have an F10 535i XDrive with 125,000 miles. I'm sure I will get a good 15 years out of this one as well. ;).

    Damn dude I'm looking for f10 535 in Europe and I can't find anything for 12k euro, 6.5k usd insane price, you can do so many mods, god damnnn

    • @JonIbrahim

      Thankfully I got it right before the used car boom in US. I don’t know if used car market in Europe is the same but there’s no way I’d be able to find this kind of deal now. Unless it’s completely junk you can get so much more for your used car in Us.
      What year are you looking for?

    The ones I’m looking at don’t have paddle shifters. Any idea why?

    • @chroncn2191
      @chroncn2191 5 месяцев назад +1

      I think M Sport only has them

    • @PapiAndrey
      @PapiAndrey 5 месяцев назад +2

      The real reason is because the paddle shifters only come with the Sport Automatic Transmission (2TB) option.
      Regardless if it’s optioned with M-Sport package (ZMM) or not.
      The gear selector is a good indicator, it has a nicer, newer design with leather on the back instead of rubber and the stock transmission maps are better.
      It also the only way to get paddles.
      While you can always get xhp or another transmission tune that will outperform the SAT map, you’d still have to get a different steering wheel with paddles and you’d want the nicer gear selector so you’re better off finding a car with the option from the factory.

Also i was looking at other bmw 535i same year but the radio does not work and owner does not know why or how to fix. would i be bettter off buying this or installing the coolant and map sensor on the other 535i i was talking about before any help would be great thank you

    • @JonIbrahim
      @JonIbrahim  2 года назад

      I’d be more willing to buy the broken radio than the one with cooling system issues. If the car has been overheated can end up having some really significant damage

      @@sirswishers4654 I mean if it was that simple they would fix it. I would be reluctant to believe it’s just the sensor. And radio you’d be better off just retrofitting an android system in that has Apple car play ect on it

    Looking into getting one for 10k , it has 150k but engine was rebuilt with 70k would u trust the dealer ? I didn’t know if the rebuilt engine would cause me more problems what you think ?

    • @JonIbrahim
      @JonIbrahim  2 года назад +2

      I would not trust the dealer, I tend to go private party and focus more on the person I’m buying from than the actual car. Obviously the car has the meet certain requirements but if I get a good feeling about the seller I feel much better buying from them than a dealer or someone I don’t know about. The rebuilt engine can end up being a blessing or a curse. A lot of times when a car is disturbed that much things are forgotten or lost or not replaced with car and can lead to long term issues. But also it could be you get someone who did a really good job and the car is squared away.

    ...but but Joni you could've bought another bitcoin instead of a depreciating asset and whoever sold you this car is a happy man. I would never buy a vehicle that can do the job and transport me to my destination for more than $5,000. Of course, though I would buy a $500,000-600,000 sports car so I can see your woman, which by the way seems older than you start flirting with me. I hope I see you here decade from now still making videos and not end up road killed in that car. Should've went with a pick up truck if you were willing to pay so much, and still I could find so much better.

    I rebuilt one from Copart which was like $3k if I’m not wrong
    It had 172k miles
    I changed the valve cover gasket, injectors and spark plugs, went stage 1 and the shit box was quick lol, I pushed it hard every day for like two months and ended selling it for 7500…. They’re amazing cars, and after seeing this video and driving a POS shit Altima I’m heading to Copart to buy another one 🫣
