    Great video. Jusy picked up a 2012 528i that is very hard to find videos on. Only one I seem to find are the'11 straight 6 year. So it's nice to know common issues. Luckily mine has been heavily maintained and seems like with steady maintenance I can enjoy this car for years. Just always wish it was manual.

    I bought a 2015 535i a few years ago and sold it because it was a luxe model. This weekend I picked up a 2016 535i with all of the M Sport bits. BTW, the HPFP was re-engineered in 2014 so they became less problematic.

    Is the 550i you talked about the same as the m550i? Great video. Trying to decide m550i or m340i🤷🏼‍♂️ prolly going m340 honestly. ( if your as knowledgeable with the x5 models, more so x5m or x5 m50, that would be a great video as well.. for me anyway 🤣🤣😅 ) this is a very helpful video 🤜🏻🤛🏻

    • @Anthony_B

      From what I just read, it looks like the 550i and the M550i are different, and that the M550i wasn’t available until after the F10 was produced. There’s an F10 M550D, and of course the F10 550i Msport, but as far as I can tell, no F10 M550i.
      Sadly I’m not very familiar with the X5 models myself, but would love to learn more, might just have to start a little series where I go over there different BMW models and their differences! Good luck with your decision and eventual purchase tho!

      M550i didn’t come around until the G generation and uses the TU3 while the F 550i uses a TU2 which is much less reliable engine. The 2020 m550i moved up to the TU4 which got a big HP boost and more improvements

      I do know that if you wanted to do the entire swap 100% legit, then you’ll need quite a few pieces, but I was able to do it by simply removing some parts from the car and figuring out another way to attach things down underneath, but it’s definitely possible!

      I think you first have to ask yourself what you’re looking for with an f10, if you’re looking for a little more reliable car, but with a little less power, the 535i is solid, especially because you can add mods to increase performance, but if you want a more fun/raw car from the jump and don’t mind the more expensive maintenance, then a 550i (V8 twin turbo) might be in the cards, can’t go wrong with either so long as you have the funds/mechanical know how to keep them on the road!

    I swear every fucking performance BMW that I want and can afford is just tedious to deal with 🙄 N54 has too many problems, N55 randomly blows tf up and N63 and N63TU randomly blows tf up. The B58 is way out of my budget plus I’d rather have a F10 with the B58.
    Something I wanted to add though, the 550 also has battery drainage issues because it runs so hot and the fans will run for a while after the car is off to cool it down quicker.

    • @Anthony_B
      @Anthony_B  Год назад

      The N63 is pretty problematic from everything I’ve read, but if you have the money for maintenance, I’ve heard it’s a really fun car, so definitely something to weigh/consider.
      Yea I was reading about that, I guess these f10’s are designed to charge the battery while coasting, vs front the belt spinning the alternator, and if people just race around in the cars then they don’t really ever get recharged properly. Just another thing to think about if you’re considering picking one up haha
