It can, when comparing to PC it shows how much snappier and more responsive Apple silicon is compared to any given Intel/AMD chip in the PC But for Macs yeah they’re pretty much identical.
Definitely would be nice to see M3 Pro tested and compared in Low Power Mode to see the difference in power and actual battery life with the 2 extra efficiency cores

16 inch is much better i think, 14 is great for some portability aspects, especially in very tight spaces. But most places, going to class on the table, at a coffee shop or at home the 16 inch is still portable and has the HUGE benefit of the screen realestate! its much better to have say two programs side by side to play with, better to read text, it also helps with heat displacement as its larger. Let’s be real here, most people that have the 14inch in reality use an external display at home whenever possible. The 16 inch gives you enough screen to use it as is exclusively 90% of the time. Most people i know or even see on RUclips with 14s, have them plugged in most of the time to a larger display. I just think 16 fits most people, don’t let the little bit larger body fool you. You’ll love it and wont have regrets thinking i wish i had more screen to see something better, especially two programs at once or if you have taken it on a trip and have no possibility of another monitor. The 14 is still great don’t get me wrong and has its place too. It’s a little bit cheaper for starters, can be good for someone that wants to work on public transport or a plane seat. P.s my last computer was a 14 inch and overall it was great and still usable! The thing is, text and two programs really can be at times hard to read and if reading and writing a lot, eye strain is real! You can zoom in, but then you get less and less on the screen. 16inch is a nice size, trust me yes it is larger, but Apple did well keeping it pretty thin and light.
I need the MacBook for reading text all day.. I tried with the MacBook Air 15 inch but it doesn't read as clearly and I returned it… I tried with the MacBook Pro 14 inch… but I don't like the screen size… finally I think I have to go with the MBP 16
For coding, the main benefit of the 16inch is the screen space, not the performance. Being able to see more lines of code at once makes a major productivity difference.
I agree, seeing more lines of code is vastly more important than the difference in performance. However, unless you’re coding a lot on the go, i’d rather spend the extra $500 on an external display imo.
I was veering toward that direction, but then realized I could have an external monitor when needed but when more mobile the larger screen helps a lot at public locations to view things.
@@jerwilisgIt was the main reason why I bought a mac, I really love this DAW. Others are great as well, but Logic is just the right place for me to make music 🙂
I've had an Apple refurbished 16" M1 Pro for almost a year now and love it. I'm still amazed at how incredible the display is especially when watching movies.
I think portability is the question and personal preference. The cost difference goes a long way to a nice monitor. My opinion is the 16” is really for the max chip to make sure you get everything you are paying for performance wise. Otherwise save money, stick with a laptop that’s actually portable and use a monitor when needed.
Did your channel is actually so good and underappreciated because for the small community of tech nerds that really care about things that would be small and just a matter of size to most people, but is a big decision for the few of us. I seriously thank you for taking the time to make these videos . I appreciate you.
I hope Max doesn't hate me, but I got the 14 inch UNBINNED model because I care about all the performance I can get but in the smaller form factor because I travel a lot. I can't afford the M3 Max, and I haven't had any problem with the M3 Pro since I got it, so it doesn't seem that I need it either. I do a lot of programming (Xcode) and 4K H.265 Video Editing in both Premiere Pro and Final Cut. I also edit photos in Photoshop. I also value the larger 1TB SSD on the unbinned model.
You just proved why I chose the 14". :) In the "old days" of Intel, it was 15" or nothing, because the 13" was always underpowered, especially in graphics. But as these numbers show, with Apple Silicon the 14" is practically the performance equal to the 16", with very few exceptions. I was therefore able to step down to 14" without any significant compromise. I would only get the 16" if I wanted maximum battery life and required the Max processor, after seeing that the 14" can throttle the Max. But I only need the Pro, so the 14" is a brilliant package for my needs, and I am now able to use much smaller bags than I ever could with the old 15" MacBook Pro.
I also have a old 15 inch MBP...perfect screen size & typing real estate. 14 inch seems crammed. Dilemma is keep MBP M3 pro 14 18/512, $1500 or just wait a few weeks for MBP m4. M4 should be an upgrade with new competition from AmD
If you don't have to carry around the MBP often, I would recommend 16" just because of the chasis and how the fans are not as noticeable as on the 14". I have the 14" and the fans come on pretty often. Mine is the base M1 Pro. Most of the time it's 75% at home and 25% on the go.
Mine are always off do you live in dust? Or what do you do because my fans are always off. Took off the bottom case to clean it and there was no dust buildup.
The 16in model honestly appeals way more to me for two big reasons: -1. The most used part of any laptop is the screen and those extra two inches really go a long way in being able to get a solid workflow going and just overall enjoyment of the laptop. -2. Fan noise. Based on that last test, it seems like the fan noise under a heavy workload could be twice as loud on the 14 vs the 16. That and having overall more thermal headroom. When looking at the whole package, for me it just makes more sense to get the 16 over that 14. For people who will say the 16 is not as portable, for one they have never lugged around a high performance windows laptop lol. But, if that extra 1.3lbs really is the make or break, I gotta imagine the 13in Air is way more attractive as it really not that much smaller than the 14 when side by side and at 2.75lbs it two pounds lighter than the 16inch and close to a pound lighter than the 14in. Even the 15in Air is slightly lighter than the 14in pro and the screen size jump feels much larger than you would think for just an inch. Just feels like win win on the 16, especially with all the sales right now.
16 inches model is really not that portable. I have to constantly fly, and the problem is not even the weight but the sheer size of it. It's just more convenient to have something tiny to work with, not to hit other people around and not to feel awkward. 14 in model is perfect
@@KVzism To each their own and if you like the 14 better then thats all that matters. For me I would personally disagree. Having carried large windows gaming grade laptops for years just to get the performance that Intel MacBooks could not provide, I would be lugging around anywhere between close to 6Lbs for a 15inch or over 9lbs for a 17inch laptop. That did not even include the charger which would be another 2lbs. Going from carrying 8 to 11Lbs of laptop on the regular to a laptop thats under 5 pounds that I don't even always have to take the charger for is beyond portable in comparison. Having said that, I am not sure why a 16inch would be so large you feel awkward with it. It is a bit heavier for sure, but unless you are constantly on the go and walking is your made mode of transportation (i.e. no car/bike), then I am not sure the extra 1.2Lbs of the 16inch outweighs the benefits of the over all better package. But thats just my point of view on it.
I decided to get the 14" unbinned model, mostly for 1tb storage and improved gaming performance. No regrets, I also had solid trade in value from my m1 pro laptop.
I think with the better cooling system with less fan noise, better music production performance, bigger display and trackpad, it is a more premium experience. And the case that it is justified by paying $500 more, is a matter of pocket size, not productivity. But I have to say this, better cooling performance WILL BE a deciding factor in the lifespan of this machine, 90 degrees is a lot cooler than 104 degrees.
Also to remind you, if you get the Apple Education Discount, you can get the unbinned 12-core CPU and 18-core GPU on the 14'' MacBook Pro PLUS the faster 96W charger with support for fast charging for just $2019!
Been waiting for you to make this comparison. Actually, my question mark was the difference in performance not between the binned and unbinned Pro chip per se, but rather between the same Pro chip in a 14" chassis vs the 16", which I guess was also answered by this vid seeing that there's basically not much difference between the two. Currently with a late 2013 15" MBP DG and was thinking of considering the 14" because of its compact size. But I think I'll go with the 16" still, because of everything that's related with the 16" chassis like the larger screen, the better speakers, and especially that upgraded Pro chip's performance in Logic, which was one of the few improvements in the 16" that would benefit me. Probably will upgrade the RAM as well for the large sound libraries I work. Great video as usual, guys! Keep it up!
@@americanprincess851an unbinned chip simply means you get the full chip architecture. However, a binned chip means the chip has been purposedly tweaked a bit to have a little less performance. That's why the binned M3 Pro chip only has an 11-core CPU and 14-core GPU compared to the unbinned M3 Pro chip which has the full 12-core CPU and 18-core GPU
I’d love to see M3 upgraded to 16GB RAM vs base M3 Pro chip to see if extra $200 is worth the upgrade? I’ve not seen anyone do this despite loads of people saying it’s worth considering…
When I hear people say how much more of a challenge a 16” can be for carrying with 1 extra pound, I can’t help but laugh. If you can’t carry a 16” MBP, you don’t need a new laptop, you need to invest in a gym membership 😂
Thank you so much for posting this video! I received a MacBook Air as a Christmas present, and I’m taking it to the Apple Store to upgrade to a MacBook Pro. I couldn’t decide what size to get, but after watching your video, I’m definitely getting the 16 inch model. You are video was extremely helpful and describing the differences, and now I know exactly what I want. Thank you again.
Good swift comparison. If you want that big screen machine there’s some bonus benefits, but for me the base 14 chip looks fine and saves a few bucks with no remorse.
Your test showed that the 14in m3 max was thermal throttleling. Would you be able to do a comparison between the 14in m3pro and 14in m3max chips? Mainly interested in heavy photo work and some light video, and know that I’ll be getting at least 36g ram… just not sure if the binned max is worth it with the thermal throttleling you previously showed on the 14in (and no, no 16in for me. I have back problems and not willing to add any more weight than I have to in my bags. And have 32in,4k, 99% Argb monitors for home use).
This RUclips video covers thermal throttling of the 14/30 Max in a 14 inch form factor: ruclips.net/video/jfWsIqxQNK8/видео.html . For photographers who do light video editing, the cost effective recommendation that I read is M3 Pro MB Pro in an any form factor with updated RAM if working with larger RAW files, editing panoramic photos, and using multiple layers in PS.
I upgraded from my base model m1 14” to the m2 max 14” for this reason. I work with two R5 bodies with raw files only. The base m1 was not fast enough for me. I found that if you edit a large set of images (300+) it would get really hot and throttle and the 32Gb of Ram in the m2 max would fill up real fast if you use tools like, crop, lens correction, detail etc. the editing would gradually get choppier and smoothness would disappear around half way into it. That really irked me a lot. Because performance wise it was about the same as the base m1 with 16gb. The battery will drain faster too. The m1 never got hot on me and the battery consumption was really better. I exchanged the m2 max after two months and got the 64Gb. It will still get hot and the battery drain is the same but at least it has smooth sailing throughout the edits. If you care about export times the m2 max is really fast but I don’t care about export speeds really.
I got the m3 max 16inch 16/40/ 48 and so far I'm loving it alot. I'm coming from the mid 15 macbook pro so it definitely feels much faster and music sounds better over the speakers. Overall, weight doesn't even feel noticed since I go the gym daily and the laptop just feels very light to me. I also chose 16in because my hands feel more comfortable typing while the 14in I felt my hand felt too bunched together on the keyboard. Battery life feels great as well as the fast recharge time. Overall, I'd say if you have m1 series probably don't need to upgrade. But anything before m1 I'd say go for it as it feels more responsive and fast. Also, if memory bandwith matters to you pay attention to apple's tech specifications the model I chose has 400gb/s)
Great comment but take note of the fact that the lower memory bandwidth of the other configurations makes no difference in the real world as no apps/programs can come close to using even 200GB/s bandwidth.
I got this same MacBook as you did but with education discount, $1050 off for trading in my upgraded M1 Pro and $400 more off due to Apple Cash AND a refund for apple care from my M1. All in all $1750 off a $3699 machine was insane!!!!!
I’m sticking to my 13.6 MacBook Air once again. It’s very convenient for me to travel around with since I have a briefcase to travel around and also less heavy to deal with on the subways and buses
I've loving my 14" M3 Pro ($1999 model), the portability is awesome, and at home I plug it in and game at 60 fps. All good. M3 Studio is my next wishlist item, but frankly it's not needed at the moment.
I’m really happy with my 14” MacBook Pro with the M3 pro 12/18 core I got from my work! It’s easier to take with me and at home and at work I use a big screen anyway.
I'm planning to upgrade to a MacBook Pro M3 soon. I'd like Adobe Lightroom Classic to run smoothly on this machine: so snappy when scrolling through photo's and applying edits without delay. That's the main thing. I don't mind if exporting photo's takes a bit longer. What specs would be best to achieve this goal? Basic M3 with 24GB memory and 1TB SSD, or the M3Pro 18GB memory and 1TB SSD? Both setups are around the same price and also at the max I'm willing to spend. I'm really at a loss what the best choice would be. I appreciate any suggestion/advice, thanks!
I’m in the same exact boat. So many RUclipsrs only show an export test, and never a real world use of LRC, scrolling through photos in the develop module, applying edits, ai noise reduction, etc. I’m more stuck with whether the 14” screen is enough for photo editing, or if the extra 2” is worth an additional $500 as this video says, which I can’t say it fully answered for me
Hello, if I buy the 14" with the base 11 core chip, do I get the 70W charger or the 96W one? What would be the difference? Faster charge speed but is it good for the battery?
Great video! I'm currently using a 2020 M1 Air with 8GB of RAM as my main editing workstation, but as my skills and workload increase, it's starting to struggle, especially when editing 4K RAW footage from my Fujifilm XT4, color grading, and adding heavy effects. I also use Lightroom. I'm considering an upgrade and would love your suggestion. Should I opt for the latest M3 Max for future-proofing, or would a second-hand model suffice?
Thanks for the video, nevertheless I think it’s a bit of an unfair and a bit of a useless comparison. If your goal is to compare chips you should use same chassis (aka. 14 inch binned vs 14 inch unbinned, avoiding chassis pro/cons). If the goal is to compare chassis you should be using 14 unbinned vs 16 inch unbinned. Variables need to be isolated in order to obtain valuable results.
I used the amazon link from another video and bought myself a older 2017 4k Imac that I found. I just needed a little more screen and usb-c/thunderbolt 3 that my 2015 Macbook pro didn't have. Thanks for all that you all do and knowledge you all put out there. I may in the future buy something brand new, but for what I do, 4k30 H.264, the IMac can handle that with no problems plus its a little faster than the Macbook pro. I am curious though could the new systems be paired up with a E- GPU?
I have the 14" with 12-core M3 Pro. It is a lot more portable and very quiet even under max load. If I'm working at a desk, I'll plug it into an external monitor anyway.
Thanks for the nice info. Suddenly I am so curious about the performance of 16 inch m1 max and m3 pro. In Korea, the price of m1 max mbp is quite good, but I am thinking that if m3 pro beats out m1 max.. there's no reason to get m1 max.. let me know your opinion.
@@mtbhub2090It’s only $400 more and with the 512 ssd it might be worth it. That’s what I’m trying to go for. If not I’ll probably just buy the $2500 one.

@@latinreuben Best Buy has a Huge sale 16” M3 MBP. Just $200 difference between the M3 Max models 36 and 48gb ram. Don’t know which one to look at for coding and gaming.
I speculate that the reason the M3 Pro has six performance cores is because Apple wants this chip in the next iPad Pros. That would differentiate them from the iPad Air. Having less performance and more efficiency cores would help that device with battery life without making them thicker to contain a larger battery.
That’s what I’ve been wondering about. I don’t know if 512 on the storage is enough and if there would be problems with swap memory with just 18gb ram and the 512 ssd. I plan on running Windows 11 with parallels and I’m thinking I might have to upgrade to 36 on the ram. Going to Best Buy to get it so I have to get what they got. Today, the difference is $300 but 14 inch extended 3yr warranty is 279 & on 16 inch 400... ridiculous...400 can pay for an ipad Air. Although im used to 2015 15 inch, the 16 is not worth it.
You did a video previously with the M2 Air having the Low Power mode secret weapon. Since the M3 Pro has 6-E cores, I think a follow up or maybe even a m3 Pro vs M2 (air) on low power mode would be very interesting.

I don’t understand why you compared the 14” to the 16” with different chips. It would make more sense to test the 14” with the upgraded chip and 1TB of storage. That is a $400 upgrade that provides more storage and the better chip. I personally wouldn’t buy a Mac with less than 1TB of storage.
i dont undestand why you are nitpicking non issues. the pro series offers 2 chips that are practically the same. the base 16 only offers the unbinned pro chip
I hear you. My 13” M1 MBP had 1 tb of ssd. Now I’m buying at Best Buy and the max chip with a tb is too much for me. The 14” has a tb but I want that bigger screen. If I dint have an eye problem and have to wear reading glasses the 14” probably would be fine.
Would appreciate an Adobe Illustrator test: how snappy it is opening and saving heavy files, and working with complex designs (clipping masks, elements with tons of anchor points...)

Please add a machine learning benchmark using LM Studio because the new M3 models are so powerful that they can run easily a 70(!) BN parameter model which was impossible just 3 years ago. Since ML inference is bound by memory speed and memory size, there are real differences between the base, pro, and Max CPU. Besides no reviewer does ML Benchmarking despite the fact that Ai engineers gradually discover the M3 Max as a highly competitive alternative. A fully spiced out M3 Max can run models that just one year ago would have required a workstation worth at least $16k..,
Knowing Apple the new design might come in 2025/2026. Maybe future redesign finally brings Face ID. Overall MacBooks need more storage in base models. I find 512gb of storage is not enough. 1 tb in base model should be a standard especially when you’re buying a „pro” machine. Big change should come to chip itself. I don’t like that we have to pay so much more (nearly cost of second MacBook) to get extra gpu cores. It would be better if both Pro and Max models come with the same amount of gpu cores but the difference would be in CPU cores where the Max model would take the lead.

Could you test native or Rosetta games with Low Power mode for performance and how much battery you would get? (or just what the total system draw is, you can kinda extrapolate from that) Alternatively, you could run games at maybe Medium ~800p with a frame cap of 60 (or Vsync, but it would go to 120Hz on non 13" MBPs unless you adjust it down)? Max chips would also be appreciated to test Just wondering how good gaming on battery is, wondering if Macbooks can do a better job than handhelds / APU laptops (if you get good battery you could increase the brightness to make it somewhat usable outdoors, certainly with forced HDR brightness, at the cost of battery and a few $100 more)?
Same here! I had a mid-2012 Macbook Pro and this 16" is only 1/2 pound heavier than that!
I’d still get a M1 model (probably get MacBook Air though).
But I only need the Pro, so the 14" is a brilliant package for my needs, and I am now able to use much smaller bags than I ever could with the old 15" MacBook Pro.
does the 14inch M3 pro thermal throttle after some hours of video editing 4K-8K videos though ?
The 16in model honestly appeals way more to me for two big reasons:
If you look at the fans, I would think the 16”, especially with the pro chip should run cooler.
Ergonomics tests like typing difference ( depth from edge to keyboard and raised height and lap ability would be appreciated
Nice video guys.
I really hope that you could make a comparison between 18 & 36 Gb M3 pro
I decided to get the 14" unbinned model, mostly for 1tb storage and improved gaming performance. No regrets, I also had solid trade in value from my m1 pro laptop.
I think with the better cooling system with less fan noise, better music production performance, bigger display and trackpad, it is a more premium experience. And the case that it is justified by paying $500 more, is a matter of pocket size, not productivity. But I have to say this, better cooling performance WILL BE a deciding factor in the lifespan of this machine, 90 degrees is a lot cooler than 104 degrees.
I have the 14" M3 pro and I regret not getting the bigger screen. But at that point thats really the only difference. Plus a huge cost uptick.
does the 14inch M3 pro thermal throttle after some hours of video editing 4K-8K videos though ?
Keep it up!
What does binned vs unbinned Chip mean? Thank you
@@americanprincess851an unbinned chip simply means you get the full chip architecture. However, a binned chip means the chip has been purposedly tweaked a bit to have a little less performance. That's why the binned M3 Pro chip only has an 11-core CPU and 14-core GPU compared to the unbinned M3 Pro chip which has the full 12-core CPU and 18-core GPU
Okay I understand now. The binned has something missing and the unbinned is just the regular chip with everything. Thanks for clearing that up.
I’d love to see M3 upgraded to 16GB RAM vs base M3 Pro chip to see if extra $200 is worth the upgrade? I’ve not seen anyone do this despite loads of people saying it’s worth considering…
video was released today
See Luke Miani's latest video (Apple I'm done) on this issue. Not worth upgrading as Apple charge extortionate prices for memory upgrades.
Could you please do a 18GB vs 36GB RAM STRESS TEST M3 PRO?
When I hear people say how much more of a challenge a 16” can be for carrying with 1 extra pound, I can’t help but laugh.
If you can’t carry a 16” MBP, you don’t need a new laptop, you need to invest in a gym membership 😂
This is the video I was waiting for! Thanks again, great job
That's true! xD @@leebeeskee
I guess what I mean is my hands tend to hang out more on the side and bottom part so it's just more comfortable.@@spacecadet2172

I got this same MacBook as you did but with education discount, $1050 off for trading in my upgraded M1 Pro and $400 more off due to Apple Cash AND a refund for apple care from my M1. All in all $1750 off a $3699 machine was insane!!!!!
Why you didn't include Cinebench GPU performance tests? The Cinebench v24.1 is optimised for M3 chips, including hardware raytracing capabilities.
I’m sticking to my 13.6 MacBook Air once again. It’s very convenient for me to travel around with since I have a briefcase to travel around and also less heavy to deal with on the subways and buses
Please can you compare the M3 Macbook Pro upgraded to 16GB RAM vs the M3 Pro Macbook Pro base model?
Nice review as usual, thanks! Where can I find the wallpaper that you have on the MBP 14 inches?
I've loving my 14" M3 Pro ($1999 model), the portability is awesome, and at home I plug it in and game at 60 fps. All good. M3 Studio is my next wishlist item, but frankly it's not needed at the moment.
does the 14inch M3 pro thermal throttle after some hours of video editing 4K-8K videos though ?
Can you test the M1 MBP against M3Pro/Max 14 or 16?
Hi, how to get the cool teardown wallpaper of MacBook Pro 14 inch?
show a excel spreadsheet in both screens, so we can understand how much more screen real estate we are getting with the larger screen.
Could you please send me the link for the 14" wallpaper, I try to find on the website in the link but I didn't find it, thanks from Mexico
I’m really happy with my 14” MacBook Pro with the M3 pro 12/18 core I got from my work!
It’s easier to take with me and at home and at work I use a big screen anyway.
does the 14inch M3 pro thermal throttle after some hours of video editing 4K-8K videos though ?
I’m more stuck with whether the 14” screen is enough for photo editing, or if the extra 2” is worth an additional $500 as this video says, which I can’t say it fully answered for me
Is it worth getting the unbinned 14 inch mbp m3 pro?
Will you guys be comparing the m3 pro chip with the m3 max chip? Looking forward to that video
Don't understand that why are you not making a comparison on MacBook M1 Pro vs MacBook M3 Pro Base Variant.
In Korea, the price of m1 max mbp is quite good, but I am thinking that if m3 pro beats out m1 max.. there's no reason to get m1 max.. let me know your opinion.
anyone got the link to the actual wallpaper?
Does it make sense to uograde the RAM to 36GB on the M3 Pro?
That's what I would like to know! Want to pick one up today.
@@mtbhub2090It’s only $400 more and with the 512 ssd it might be worth it. That’s what I’m trying to go for. If not I’ll probably just buy the $2500 one.
Screen size is not important, I will use it on a 43” monitor. Will the temperatures and fans on the 14” cause problems in the future? Or should I get a 16”

Thank You Guys!!🎉
Thank you for your detailed investigations. I have the An m1 Pro 14 inch base model. Would you please, is it possible to compare this model with the m3 pro 14 inch base model. I would like to know if it is correct to update my device or not. And based on this video I’ll find the answer of my second question that which model i should choose. Thank you.

I cannot seem to find that logic board wallpaper via the Adobe Stock images link in the description. I love it! Someone help me out!
Can u make a comparison 16 Inches M3 Pro with M3 Max plz?
The 16” would probably be better especially since I have to wear reading glasses. Might be able to lower the power of them and sit farther back.
Yeah, larger screen helps delay getting reading glasses a lil longer. That's my dilemma
Having less performance and more efficiency cores would help that device with battery life without making them thicker to contain a larger battery.
if the main diff is the fans, where is the heat gun test?
Is the base 16’ good for gaming like RE Village and other AAA games?
That’s what I’ve been wondering about. I don’t know if 512 on the storage is enough and if there would be problems with swap memory with just 18gb ram and the 512 ssd. I plan on running Windows 11 with parallels and I’m thinking I might have to upgrade to 36 on the ram. Going to Best Buy to get it so I have to get what they got. Hearing that the Max chip is too hot and the fans are running loud. Plus $3500 is too much for me right now and probably later too. Just gonna play games on the windows side because most of my games aren’t Mac compatible. Just two games on windows, the rest are on my 12.9” M1 iPad Pro.
Hope you make the right decision in what you’re buying. Too bad they’re only giving us about two weeks on the return period.
Today, the difference is $300 but 14 inch extended 3yr warranty is 279 & on 16 inch 400... ridiculous...400 can pay for an ipad Air. Although im used to 2015 15 inch, the 16 is not worth it.
Do you guys know what is the name of the CPU, GPU, fan and temp monitors they are using?
At 3:43 min
Fans and Temp is maybe TG Pro
You did a video previously with the M2 Air having the Low Power mode secret weapon. Since the M3 Pro has 6-E cores, I think a follow up or maybe even a m3 Pro vs M2 (air) on low power mode would be very interesting.
Don’t forget to add £399 for the Apple Care+ on the 16’ or a bit less on the 14’
I upgraded to the M3 Max with 64gbram from the last Intel Based MackBook Pro and this laptop is AMAZING. I am editing Red Footage, C70 footage, R5C footage as well as GFX 100 II images. It screams
The formal music u use for ur speaker tests actually portrays and gives better insight to sound quality than this one so it’ll be preferable u either use both or switch back to the old one 🙏🏾🙏🏾
"Let's do a speaker comparison".... and then an ad interrupts the comparison. smh.
How about the base mbp 16 m3 pro vs mbp 14 m3 pro (12c/18c - 18GB and 1TB)? I am planning to swap my mbp 16 m3 pro (base) as it is really heavy for me
I would love to see a video of you testing world of Warcraft with these new Mac’s so I know which one would be best for the frames per second

Do you’ll make an iMac comparison?
Why compare 12c 18c vs 11c 14c ??
Why not? It’s important because people will want to make these decisions and have no guidance. So this video is important
Ahhh, I was really eager for this video but one of the main things I wanted to see was the battery life difference. Did I miss something?
you tested two models that are not equal one more cpu core and 4 more graphics cores.
Hey guys thanks for this! I really like the comparison and benchmarks videos so much better than the sponsored ad-videos. I wish you would consider always doing either these videos or your leaks and rumors videos, and simply do a long sponsor read in the middle, instead of a full dedicated sponsor product video the next day. Anyway just my thoughts and thanks again!

HEVC and h.256 are only most common on an iPhone / smartphone. For most video types it’s still h.264 generally.
You're wrong, some of recent pro cameras use h265 for some commonly used video codecs
Please compare the M3 Pro vs M3 Max 🙏🏼. Love your videos 😁
It would be better if both Pro and Max models come with the same amount of gpu cores but the difference would be in CPU cores where the Max model would take the lead.

just buy a 14 incher and a $150 laptop monitor. Still compact but much more screen space than the 16 incher, and hundreds cheaper.
You’d have to make sure the monitor is Mac OS compatible. A lot of them aren’t.
Could you test native or Rosetta games with Low Power mode for performance and how much battery you would get? (or just what the total system draw is, you can kinda extrapolate from that)
Alternatively, you could run games at maybe Medium ~800p with a frame cap of 60 (or Vsync, but it would go to 120Hz on non 13" MBPs unless you adjust it down)?
Max chips would also be appreciated to test
Just wondering how good gaming on battery is, wondering if Macbooks can do a better job than handhelds / APU laptops (if you get good battery you could increase the brightness to make it somewhat usable outdoors, certainly with forced HDR brightness, at the cost of battery and a few $100 more)?
I got the 16 inch M3 Pro I definitely don't regret it coming from my 13 inch Mac intel i5
Same here! I had a mid-2012 Macbook Pro and this 16" is only 1/2 pound heavier than that! Since I was already used to the weight of the old one, the new one is no problem at all for me and it fits in my camera gear roller backpack for travel and work.
I also got the 16" Certified Refurbished (36RAM, 4TB SSD) directly from Apple, so it'a like brand new anyway, same warranty, etc., and I saved $500 for that!
I'm going to purchase the 16 inch but should I upgrade the Ram? I will be using it for lightroom and editing 4k video.
