For those kinda confused by that last video, collegehumor, and by extention dorkly lost their parent company after years of loss. Because of this, they were running out of money and forced to lay off almost all their employees. They are still cooperating with lowbrow to continue making animation videos
They are still running, but they had to cut a lot of secondary content(I can't really figure out what to call them, I guess subsidiaries might be the correct term) such as drawfee for example, they used to be part of dorkly but got cut, they struggled a bit initially but they seem to be back on their feet
I knew that scyther sounded suspiciously familiar... and I’m kind of happy they dropped drawfee because now drawfee can have a lot more random fun content without approval
5:00 Patterrz actually revived Pokemon actually do retain their memory. In one of the Unova anime arcs with Ferris the archieologist, the Tirtouga that he saved when he went back in time remembered him after being revived. Just saying :)
Shivermist Still, it’s likely degraded. As in the very, very minuscule memory links and whatever could be broken down already. It’s like a cluster of wires with one chunk missing being repaired - Chances are, unless the machine is specifically designed for it (in modern technology at least we can’t quite reconstruct a brain :p), that chunk will just become a lump of copper or whatever attached to the non-degenerated wires.

@@thatoneguy2655 well lore wise that "different pokemon" is still just a babeh version of its parent, same as how you get a bulba from a vena they just didnt add it into gameplay
Fun fact, when he tore open the dimensional rift to hop from the red version to the blue version, this is actually something you can do with the games. Red and Blue have compatible save files, and there were devices you could use to back up and restore game saves. So you absolutely could play red, back up your save, restore it to a blue cartridge, and then play the same save on blue.
Watching a reaction to the death of Dorkly/CollegeHumor was almost as bad as watching it happen in real-time. The company that made the animations still exists, and they post info on that channel every time they upload a short to Dorkly now!
The end hurts even more, with the music from Pokemon Mystery Dungeon 2 Explorers of Time, when you disappear from existence and your partner has to watch.
1:53 I regret to inform you that in the pokemon manga there is a god version of Venusaur and since god pokemon are classified as legendary pokemon and bulbasaur is a soon to be Venusaur, Bulbasaur is in fact a legendary pokemon
Pat : What are you gonna do Oak, have a cup of tea and a biscuit with it? Me : Awkwardly looks up from dunking my custard cream in my tea at that exact moment
Memories aren't physical though. Memories are basically just little blips of energy and sequences of patterns that go from neuron to neuron. Maybe in Pokemon, fossils retain their memories but scientifically they would not.
On the whole, regarding being resurrected without memories, since the fossils you revive have moves, and don't start at level 1, meaning they have battle experience, we know for a fact that fossil resurrection retains memories.
That last part of the video was because CollegeHumor's parent company stopped financing them all. Dorkly has made a new deal with a different company now though I think. So they were possibly going to be shutting down but aren't anymore.
So I was trying to go to your channel for more videos and I accidentally hit the subscribe button. But I probably would have done it anyway so...accidental subscriber for you lol
5:10 the actual explanation would be that memories are stored as signals in the brain that can't be touched nor generated, i think that is what happens to Deadpool too
There should be a cyber group as villains in the next gen. Like they'll ocassionally take a random pokemon from your PC or something, and then you have to go on a mission to get it back
4:56 It's just me theorising but if a Pokemon knows a move after being resurrected technically it does remember something, also when you erase a move I doesn't say do you want to erase this move it says do you want to forget so if we take that into consideration then in the world of Pokemon you could resurrect a Dead body with all it's memories
"What kind of reaction video if you just sit there and do nothing?" Kinda reminds me of that one girl youtuber that watches anime and just sat there like a rock. I don't recall her name but I do remember her forehead.
Exceptionally Riso it’s pretty self explanatory if you don’t get it we’ll here’s an explanation. They are just looking at a anime watching girl do nothing eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee
Patterz there was an episode where a guy was a child and was with an ancient pokemon and he got old and found a fossil turns out the pokemon that he met once he was a child and he reserected it and the pokemon remembered him
The idea of resurrecting the corpse I think comes from the idea of the anime or some games, more so in the anime, is that if Pokemon could potentially remember their past even though they are more fossilized than the same would apply here with the father. Also we don't know when the father "died" it's possible they restored enough. Or its just a plot hole.
I mean in blue/red/yellow there really isn't anywhere else to get a bulbasaur, charmander or squirtle other than at the professors lab ( pikachus in viridian forest i believe) so the professor wasn't wrong, several generations and maybe two regions short of a poke degree, but technically not wrong
Can you watch and react to Mah-Dry-Bread beating pokemon Firered with only a Magikarp? He does a ton of amazing pokemon challenges. This one is arguably his best, except for maybe Wobuffett.
Patterz points out many valid points. However, I can argue against a couple of them. 1. The definition of legendary pokemon is quite vague. The only thing that really decides what's a legendary is the statement from an official medium such as game or anime. However, legendary pokemon are generally considered to be incredibly rare and powerful. However, some can be incredibly weak and evolve, such as Cosmog. In the game-world, there's no official statement from a medium, so you can only go by rarity. In the game-world, there's no way to get the pokemon other than at that spot, so by that game-world standard, they should be considered legendary. This was before they discovered bulbapedia and other world stuff and the show became totally meta, so it's understandable. Smart doesn't necessarily mean they know everything, it means they act smartly. 2. Revived fossil pokemon are somehow able to follow orders, so they retain their linguistic abilities. This means their memory is preserved at least partially somehow.
Im late to the party on this but dorkly is still a thing. Here’s what I think Dorkly was in the red low on money but Dorkly as in the one person got more money from a job or something and got more money to make more videos I know this because I saw new videos not to long ago
