Vos can't ever shoot herself when she's possessing someone else, because she feels that she's herself when she's possessing someone else. She can't ever bring herself to kill herself. That's why she always seems so uncomfortable when she's in her own body, because that's not the "real her."
It might be taken this way but the movie keeps her inner process sort of vague: was she rehearshing before meeting the family because she is not herself with them or was it her plan all along to have the fictional recent memories of loving her ex and son in case the victim takes control? Was it her unable to pull the trigger or the victim's will power stopping her finger in both cases? When she is in drug dealer's body it often looks like she is toying with him at least as much as she is unable to regain control, as if she wants him to do the dirty job of eliminating her family without risking her mental health by keeping direct control over him all the time
@@lauranceberiya1314 Good point, It can definitely be interpreted that way. Still, to some of your points: Is it true that her inner process can really be described as vague, especially since we have so many symbolic moments during her possession of Colin (ex. the scene where Colin dons the “mask” of Vos’s face)? As for the inability to pull the trigger, there are other possessors, seen in the first scene in the movie; certainly they aren’t all having trouble killing the possessed body. I don’t think Vos coincidentally received two “strong” victims to possess in a row, at least for the purposes of the film. This doesn’t provide any rhyme or reason thematically aside from advancing the plot. It’s an explanation of Vos’s character. I do agree with your last statement, though, but this explains my point: Vos is strong enough to allow the victim into the position of opportunity to murder her husband. If I has a family - I would stick to it. I mean - being a responsible human being. It means I chose my husband, I wanted a child - now deal with it. And in this movie they weren't awful to begin with. I all depends on who you are, what kind of a person you are. There are people that just are not cut to be a family person and that is perfectly ok. We need such people as well. We don't have to follow certain patterns like cookies, we are our own person with God in our heart and doing what we do best - all reducing to one goal: making this world a better place. Be it by being a scientist that studies and does experiments his/her entire life, volunteer dedicated to taking care of everyone else, family person making sure the future people will have a conscience and a kind heart, isolating to a monastery and praying for all the souls in this world - and the list goes on. Yes just saw that last week
Damn, going off the title this sounds like a CRAZY movie
@@river8142 Kind of but at the same time it isn't and that's kind of the point of the movie not for everyone really.
Awesome review. I hope you're preparing "Sweet Home". That looks amazing...
'then opts for the far more vicious fireplace poker' THERE IT IS
I really love this channel. I like the fact he covers movies I haven't heard of either.
Me: You know what I'm gonna go to bed early!
(Foundflix uploads)
I get scared
Me: well looks like time to watch an hour of cute cats to settle down!
I’ve never related to a comment harder 😅
Was running out of deadmeat stuff and this came out at a perfect time
5:17 Damn the shot in front of the home is trippy
You do yo thang g. Love your insight on horror movies, which is my favorite genre of movies. Wish you much success bruh.
Note...when Colin and Ira's blood blend together at the end it looks like it's in the shape of the red butterfly IMO
I noticed that too!!
Loved this movie, and I’m so glad you’re covering it!
Depending on how you answer the choice question at the end, the FBI would like to speak to you.
Looking real good my friend! Thank you again, I really enjoy your explanation videos... 💖
The cat litter line is referring to toxoplasma gondii, a parasite that humans can get from cat poop, there are some light connections between it and slight behavioral change in humans (although still debated to what extent or if it has any effect at all).
Hands down one of the best movies of 2020! Thank you for giving this more light!
Got to see Possessor Uncut in the theater then the R-rated version. Not gonna lie, the uncut version was gruesome, and sex/nudity were strong in both. You can't lose either way IMHO.
This was an amazing pick! Thank you so much for all of your hard work!
Just do what you do best (without bringing harm), that is it.
I am so happy covid didnt effect the quality of your videos! Never quit bro! You deserve a show on like IFC.
This was a movie about project monarch, hence the butterfly.
Had to sub seeing you guys cover this movie, easily the favorite film I’ve seen this year
I saw the trailer on Hulu as was really interesting but when I saw the director had a last name of Cronenberg, I knew this was going to be extremely violent. Now after seeing your video of this, I want to see it now.
anyone else almost died when they heard the hi darling voice?
Yeah. Watching this alone in the dark was a mistake
Can u check out the movie "the others" I thought it was pretty good twist at the end
Yeah it was amazing, i liked the ghost being ghosted, haha
@@lewixkratos shuuuuush
I saw it when it came out in theatres
To those who don't know, theatres were places where groups of people went to to watch movies together in a room all at the same time. Shootings also happened so that was crazy.
Shamalamadingdong esque
deadSkrilla s•k•r•i•t•• it’s been 11 months... not decades. 😂
@@GiDD504 lolll it's like the internet joke of a old caveman playing with a cell phone pining for the old times
I usually watch one of your videos a day with breakfast. Interesting choice for today :D

As a stylist, this hairstyle has been my most favorite so far!!
IM LOVING THE HAIRCUT YYAAASSSS
Please cover Daniel Isn’t Real. That movie needs way more spotlight than it does.
I've been waiting for your review! This movie is SO FREAKING GOOD! My theory is that she is being posessed by someone else the whole movie and that's why she's having pains in her hands and other strange behavior. That explains why she kills her child with no remore because it isn't her Vos! It doesn't tell us but someone is inhabiting Vos- that's my theory
the lady who played Voss played a similar role in an episode of Black Mirror, which is probably why she got casted for this one
Watched this after listening to the Dead Meat podcast about it and I’m so glad you’re covering it too!
I'm way too scared to actually watch horror movies. Now I get the stories without shitting my pants...
