I‘m fascinated how romantic the musical theme has become that always plays when Dean and Cas interact in emotional scenes. When he returns from being possessed by Michael it‘s such a lovely mellow, but cheerful string tune and it starts right when Cass arrives. I need to pay more attention how far it reaches back in the seasons. 🥲
It hurts to see all the build up, them being parents and all, it's so obvious and I love it, and it's so sad they didn't get the ending they deserved :(

12:00 i saw a post somewhere that had a joke about how, if cas and john met, cas could be telling him: "i raised dean from hell. you, john winchester, failed to raise dean at all" -- and i am all here for it, bc i hate john with a burning passion. there is another funny quote about a "john winchester appreciation day: let's appreciate how for the majority of the show he was not there." lol

I mean Cas and his Stethoscope being upside down you could say he's an angel and he don't know better but it's Cas. He has seen doctors and nurses but still couldn't get it right. Even if its just for the funny ha has from the costume department or intentionally wrong. It's still funny to me idk why. Like the fbi badge he held upside-down its a funny little detail.
regarding the scene at 4:58 i always liked that jack was genuinely sorry for cas when cas told him that he was "far from happy", as sad as it is. jack acknowledges cas' feelings with empathy -- something i feel like cas has not gotten enough of. sure, cas had gotten some apologies for specific things that somebody did to him, but i think nobody else ever told cas that they were sorry for just about everything he went through like that and just generally sorry about him feeling down
Okay 2 things: 1) the parallell of Cas pleading for Dean´s life with Jack when talking about killing Michael vs Dean pleading with Sam over Cas´ life when Cas was possessed by Lucifer... when I tell you I feel ALL of the emotions... and 2) I just teared up over Cas telling Jack that "the point is that they were here at all and we got to know them"........

I don't know but after 15X18 I feel such a sense of loss and unfairness that it makes my breath short. Like WHY? Cas and Dean deserved the bloody world! Your videos help me cope a little but really, so damn unfair!!

I always thought the ice pick was a symbol of Dean keeping Michael out of his mind to achieve that dream of opening a bar one day and being done with the hunter life AND that's why it's strong.

Heavens... this show really put us through a rough journey.
1) I love the scene where Jack and Cas bond about being celestial beings, and I wish there had been more about what it meant to Cas to have been alive for so long yet changed so much for one human with an achingly short life. 2) I love the overarching theme of found family. I loved it with Bobby. I loved seeing Dean find a family with Ben and Lisa. Loved seeing Jody adopt Alex and Claire. Love how Dean, Sam, and Cas all think of Jack as a son. So, I've got feelings about how the show backtracked on that a little at the end, but I can't wait to hear what you think of Season 15.
The found family story arc and the fact that they just threw that out the window at the last minute is what will always haunt me the most about the end of this show.
@@hashbrown0990 Dean spending eternity with John and Mary as opposed to the many surrogate family members he had over the years feels wrong. Also, what Dean wanted for Sam was to go off and be happy with Jess or Eileen so it would follow that Dean would want Sam’s Heaven to be different from his. As for Cas, nobody is going to convince me that he doesn’t occasionally stop by and visit Dean wherever he is.
@@sdl1ishappy Jack and Cas changed heaven so that it's an open world. There are no more individual heavens anymore. Basically like earth but no monsters and such. So Sam wouldn't have his own heaven but I love your point!

When Dean says "You'd dead to me" hurts too much now. Cas wanted to maintain his family, he had his won, he has the man that he loves, a brother in Sam and of course he loved Mary because she is Dean's mom and thanks to her he had Dean. Imagine how much pain caused in Cas that phrase even in the 15x03 he remainded that phrase to Dean "I'm dead to you" The love of your life telling you something like that broke you, and Cas was broken at that time.
So hard breaking, the scenes Dean is so angry at Cas and Cas feels so guilty. They are just "fighting" but their bond is so strong they stay near anyway. This internal fight of loving and needing each other and at the same time kind of hate . Such a drama and I love it.
Sam, for me at that point is like the kid watching his parents fight and worried they could get divorce.

I need to say this. Cas is the best father you could ever ask for. Regardless of his fear, pain for Dean, he holds himself up for his son, giving him that strong shoulder and support that he does not have himself... His dialogues with Jack.. it's priceless, it's wise, it's warm and caring , instructive and protective.
This season was so hard for me to handle... Things getting worse and worse and... them... Oh(
There is so much to say, and the words will stick in your throat! I love Dadstiel and how they became a family of four.. but I never really liked the Jack staff.. because of him ... so many problems.. Damn. I appreciate his presence mostly because of Cas's fatherly love and I think...that things could have gone better without him. *that's it, I said it* **yes, I know that Jack brought Cas back - I'm not talking about that **

Really have enjoyed this series so far, look forward to the s15 analysis! 100% agree with your analysis of how Dean was dealing with Mary's death. His default reaction as a character is anger and deflection, so wasn't at all surprising how he reacted to Cas' actions (and how he will react in the heartbreaking scene between them in 'rupture'). God I forgot just how much of a physical and emotional beating Cas gets in seasons 14 and 15! Feel so bad for him and he's not even real! This show man...
I'm usually not too big a fan of long videos, but when it comes to this series I love every second of it, the longer these videos are the better!
also, can we talk about the fact that when Dean comes back to the bunker after Michael left, Dean hugs Jack but not Cas?(3:14) I mean after everything and especially the conversation between Cas and Jack about how maybe they'll never get Dean back, Cas and Dean (the two best friends) don't even hug when Dean is back?

4. I did not notice that on the wanted poster😂guess they didn't think anybody was gonna be thinking to hard about those priority offenses.
5. The episode with the Gorgon, hated it. Not good with gore surrounding the eyes specifically. I did appreciate the fact that They got to talk about it all but your right. Guess that'll make future coffee dates awkward.. 😂
6. The conversation Cas has with Jack when Jack is worried about Dean is such an amazing scene. Not only do I think it demonstrates a clear father and son like bond between Jack and Cas. What he says about cherishing people while they're still here, appreciating that they even existed in your life..it really cuts deep. I think it's something we all forget to think about when around the people we love, and it's a perspective that I think that we should all have, and it's not just reserved for fictional cosmic beings. Also, you can clearly tell that he believes this about him and Dean and I think this is the most indirect Destiel piece of subtext that exists.

I'm usually always on the same page as Dean but the way he treated/blamed Cas was soooo over the top & out of line. I'm glad SE15 finally clarified where Dean's anger comes from. And always felt Cas was more understanding/equipped to handle Dean's emotions better than anyone
Yeah I really didn't like seeing dean being so over the top with his anger during the dabb era he basically became a whiny brat to me
This season is so weird for me, not in a bad way but in a my emotions hurt way. Their relationship shifted by this season... internally.... Nothing about what they do is unromantic.... except when arguing over their kid. And knowing now.... that argument was.... at the very least HOPING to set up for what all came next for them (+ more that I'm sure the network derailed or [Omitted] or whatever) damn if that don't put it in perspective huh?
So, with the last video I said by the time I got to the season finale I was feeling a bit tired. This season made me absolutely exhausted by the end, due to it just feeling more episodic than usual, more crazy upswings and downswings of emotions for the characters, and I was just begging for Dean to get the peace he deserved.
With the video on season 9, I said that was when I started separating the writers from the characters a bit. Well, this was the season when that separation became complete for me. 26 year old Dean was fine with not thinking about other solutions to problems, BUT 40 Year old Dean should already be well aware that there is always another choice to be made. Him feeling like he had no options was insane!!
When Cas looks at him in the final episode, I was feeling the same way. To me Cas’s expression is “why is this person I have known and loved for so many years acting like a stranger?” Which is the exact same question I was asking myself in that final episode.
I understand that getting the audience frustrated had to be the intension of the season, but man was it ever effective. Being a fan who resonates the most with Dean has never been more taxing than with this season. Not even 7, and that is one of the weakest seasons of the entire show.
Yes season 14 is truly weak and stupid to me and doing the whole soulless jack storyline is just ridiculous and pointless along making God a villain 🤔🤯😬🥶😠😡🤬
@@cynthiaholmes5124 yeah, I am the type of person that tries to be super empathetic to the effort put forth to make things, but season 14 is really bothersome. No matter how much I still like the show.
@@distudio13 yeah same for me I stopped watching this show twice once after castiel was killed off in season 7 and the second time was in season 9 after Kevin dies I decided to watch the final episodes of the series big mistake 🤯😢😰😥😭

When it aired I was so busy laughing, because I was so certain Chuck was going to pop up at the end of the episode, that when he didn’t I couldn’t believe it. They brought Dean’s worst nightmare to life and are trying to say that is a good thing?!?!
@@distudio13 yeah I was like no this can't be happening what a stupid decision the writers did in that episode I know people have been saying it was because of covid making that stupid excuse as to why it was so bad but no this show has been terribly bad since season 12 this is perhaps one of the worst finales ever along with game of thrones lost dexter just garbage 🤢🤮🤯😬😠😡🤬

I've probably ranted too much about how I hate the last few seasons, but the difference between Cas and Lisa dealing with Dean's lashing out really strikes me here. If pulling a gun on your kid isn't a dealbreaker, they should at least have cas be properly angry about that in season 15. But then the writers would actually have to confront Dean's issues.
The writers pushed Dean and Cas in all directions. They took Dean's actions to such extremes that Cas would have to lash out, fight back, give up, something... sooner than he did.

That's one of my problems with the later seasons of supernatural there wasn't any character development with sam and dean not since the early seasons of the show
Normally I would never watch a video this long, but every time you upload I get so frigging excited! Every extra minute feels like a blessing! I absolutely love how you pick things apart in a very professional fashion and analyze settings, staging, and dialogue. It is so down to Earth and I cannot wait for your next video!

god, dean stans look away for a second i need to get this off my chest. i am canonically a cas stan, and cas never did anything wrong ever and i will die on this hill. anyways, like i never hated dean, never. might have rolled my eyes at some of his (ahem misogynistic and/or homophobic) lines and actions but i never hated him, i love him a lot actually but i also have eyes. s14 pissed me off so badly and also the beginning of s15, like i get it he has issues, but good lord did he go to far for my liking. anyways, i’m to this day, angry with him bc of his treatment of cas and jack, and most of all i am pissed at the writers for being cowards and using the 3 year old as a plot device in the worst way possible. anywho, rant over. destiel is canon.

Yes, when writers try to go for shock value over substance, it's hard for us to make that jump along with the character. Yes, Dean can make mistakes and react in anger, but still, there's a point where it becomes hard to forgive. I think they toed that line with Dean too many times, even more than with Cas. Cas always had the greater good in mind. Dean sometimes just has anger and lashing out at anyone within firing range.

I really didn't like season 14 the retconning that dabb did is really stupid but there's some moments like cas dean and sam taking care of Jack when he's sick and the conversation that cas and dean had about putting him in the box to protect everyone from Michael I really loved that scene but I really wished that castiel and john had met unlike misha I really don't think they would like each other 🤔🤯😳🥶😊🥰
This is where I start to get depressed bc, in hindsight, that deal marks the beginning of knowing Cas is hiding his feelings from Dean, and just gets me thinking about the BTG & Kill The Happy Ending tropes I detest so much.
Plus the Michael arc was... meh.

*There is NO Destial.* Cas is an ANGEL, who fell out of love for humans. He regained his love for humans in Dean (as an ANGEL). Why do weirdos like you in our community always try to make straight guys gay.... It’s very CLEAR to ALL normal non-heterophobic people that Dean is straight, very straight. Castiel is an Angel, he’s not “in love” with Dean, he’s regained his loved for humanity through Dean. That doesn’t NOT mean he’s “in love” with Dean.

Not really that big of a deal, but it’s kind of odd. It’s a fictional tv show, meaning there are writers that tell the story and it can be whatever they want it to be. If they wanted a gay angel to get together with a bi human they would write it into the show. No show I’ve ever known has to have the characters love life pieced together from “looks” and “small voice inflections” through the years to create a relationship that none of the characters come out and say. But it has been said bluntly that they are like brothers. Dean tells him “you’re our brother Cas” lol. Not anything to get angry over tho. I’ve watched these seasons probably 10 times and it seems pretty cut and dry to me, but if people want to enjoy it a different way that’s cool. But (I hope this isn’t taken the wrong way) what does bother me is once some of the interest for later seasons began to wain, some people involved with the show seemed like they started pandering and throwing little comments out there to lead some of these fans along. That seems cruel to me and unnecessary.
